FOOTBALL JR. & SR. Dear Parents and Campers, Thank you for signing up for Germantown Academy’s Football Camp. The coaching staff and I are excited to have the chance to work with you this summer. You will be joined by other players from the area eager to learn and play. You can count on learning a lot, becoming a better football player, and most importantly having a great time. Over the course of the week you will: learn and practice strength & speed training skills & drills that will benefit you in every sport learn and practice position-specific skills & drills for offense, defense and special teams. learn strategies, schemes & rules of the game – the more you know the more effective you are as a player, and have plenty of opportunities to play and compete in games. We will begin each morning at 9:00AM and finish up at 3:30PM. Drop-off and pick-up will take place at the Stadium. All late arrivals and early dismissals must take place through the Welcome Center. Senior Camp: terms of equipment, since many of the drills we will do involve some contact, in addition to shorts and a T-shirt you will need a helmet and shoulder pads and your own mouth guard. If you do not have your own helmet and/or shoulder pads, we can rent them to you for a fee of $20 for a helmet and $15 for shoulder pads. A rental form is located in the “Forms” section of our website at www.gacamp.org. Please contact me further information on equipment rental. Junior Camp: Since we will be focusing on the fundamentals and running a non-contact camp, all you will need in terms of gear, will be the basics – shorts, T-shirt, and sneakers/cleats.
In addition, campers in both Junior and Senior camps must bring each day to camp: sneakers & cleats (we will be both indoors and outside) a bathing suit (towel provided by camp) sunscreen a gym bag (to hold it all) a water bottle if you do not purchase a lunch, please bring one in an insulated lunch bag or cooler Please label all of your personal items!
