[ OB JECT I V E] The objective of the project is to work into a concept that can be developed into both a conceptually and aesthetically cohesive system for a social problem that you are interested in throughout the semester.

[ AP P ROACH] Graphic design is very popular, and there are more and more students who want to learn graphic design. Because the interJUNHAO DING / MA PORTFOLIO

net is convenient, young graphic designers like to go online looking for ideas. The internet is a complicated zone. There is some good stuff, but also a lot of bad examples and design templates out there. Sometimes, young designers will rely on those bad examples. My brand is to serve young graphic designers. We encourage young designers to use different elements to create unique ideas.

[ OB JECT I V E] The main goal of this project was to choose a book and then redesign the visual system surrounding it. This project expanded on previously learned principles and incorporates more advanced issues such as organization, hierarchy, layout and grid systems.

[ AP P ROACH] I chose the book CURVES OF STEEL. This book presents the JUNHAO DING / MA PORTFOLIO

famous vintage cars made in all the company. The layout of the book uses negative space to express industrial. I also used bold typeface to elevate the hierarchy.

Show the ability to design a sophisticated concept that matches the aim of the conference, showing typographic skill in a highly flexible design system fitting the needs of the design conference. [ OB JECT I V E] This project explored existing modern typographical ideas and techniques then attempted to expand on our typographical range. We investigated the communication of content and emotional qualities of the text.

[ AP P ROACH] The outcome for this project is a music poster. I used experimental typography to elicit the emotion of romance an apply it to the JUNHAO DING / MA PORTFOLIO

music poster. I applied images created by texture reflection and fluid type exploration to the poster of the music KOKOMO. All images and typography used abstract forms to express the feeling of romantic and happy.

[ OB JECT I V E] Choose an existing company to redesign their annual report. Create a report using graphic design principles, typography, and colors that are visually interesting and representative of that company’s solidified identity.

[ AP P ROACH] I chose to redesign Logitech company’s annual report. Some of the most noticeable things about this brand are the use of JUNHAO DING / MA PORTFOLIO

sans serif typography, inspiring quotes, and duotone colors. I designed around these keywords to make the report looks human nature and technology.

[ OB JECT I V E] Choose an existing problem in the society and to solve it by technology which is an application. This course investigates how research and audience understanding create successful interactive projects that can enhance a user’s experience with a brand.

[ AP P ROACH] The problem that I chose is the young generation spends more JUNHAO DING / MA PORTFOLIO

time to stay at home playing video games. Video game addiction and excessive time spent playing games can result in health and behavioral issues, such as sleep deprivation, lack of exercise, irritableness, and several other problems. I would like to solve it by creating an app that can encourage young people to go outside instead of stay at home play video games.
