PORTFOLIO-UNIVERSE
In the sense of mixed-use complex, it is a type of building that blends residential, commercial, cultural, institutional, or entertainment uses into one space, where those functions are to some degree physically and functionally integrated, and that provides pedestrian connections. This project aims to explore a new approach to mix
all those functions into the residence, and the residential part then as a fluid threshold connects or bounds other functions in the building. Having the performance art spaces incorporated makes the entire complex become an artistic neighbor and create a new harmony between hospitality and art. The interior arrangement seems to imply a kind of autonomy that each part has its unique mode of living condition. People choose where the most suitable place to live, what they enjoy living with, and which space they are willing to share. The combination of diverse spaces gives potentials for collective working, information communicating, and saving of cost. So, on the inside, parts are not as distinguishable as it looked from the outside, but they are indeed the boundary of different choices of life.

The crevice features in this project appear to be dominant on both outside and inside, bringing a unique look of juxtaposition between where parts are fully synthesized and where they still keep their identities. The scale of different crevices indicates whether those communities are close or sharing some areas. In general, the overall massing can be read as an aggregate of autonomous parcels, performing as a multi-functional medium to give more interests of life to the surrounding society.
