Part of the year-round celebration of the capital’s dining scene organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, From Dunes to Oceans features 10 of the capital’s best-loved restaurants, serving up limited-edition, five-course menus.

Foodies can enjoy both vegetarian and non-vegetarian offerings from popular Vietnamese, Indian, Italian and other international cuisines, all priced at AED 350.

“Incorporating the foundations of Arabian dining into traditional Indian cuisine has been a fascinating process, and certainly something unique for diners at Namak by Kunal Kapur,” said Head Chef Ankit Pahuja. “Seeing the success of the previous Chef’s Table initiative, and the ongoing elevation of Abu Dhabi’s thriving fine dining scene, we’re looking forward to putting our own stamp on the culinary landscape.”

Head Chef Ando Takashi of Tori No Su, said: “While fusing Japanese and Arabian cuisine was not something I seriously considered before, the experimentation and sampling process has highlighted how the flavours and styles actually complement each other extremely well. Guests opting for the five-course menu will be blown away by the adventurous tastes.”

In addition to Namak by Kunal Kapur and Tori No Su, the latest Chef’s Table takes place at the award-winning Vietnamese hotspot Hoi An; European eateries Rosemary and Bentley Kitchen; Thai-style seafood market Fishmarket; Italian trattoria Mare Mare; Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse; Lebanese favourite Sambusek and at contemporary Indian fusion restaurant Tamba.

promote the emirate’s fine dining outlets over a 12-month period. During August, the Travel Through Food theme saw diners explore limited-period menus at TEAN, BOA Steakhouse, Cipriani, Fouquet’s, Dai Pai Dong, Aja Asian & Teppenyaki, COYA Abu Dhabi, Sontaya, Punjab Grill, The Forge and Market Kitchen.

The Chef’s Table series will wrap-up next year when the most popular menus from the four 2020 editions will be collected into the ‘The All Stars’ event, here diners will get a second chance to try their favourite menus and dishes from this year. The bestsellers from the Travel Through Food chapter, and qualifiers to come back with their incredible menus at The All Stars are COYA, Punjab Grill, Fouquet’s and BOA Steakhouse.

“Encouraging residents to Travel Through Food was exciting and enabled a unique gastronomic experience that highlighted different cuisines, flavours and tastes right here at home,” said Head Chef Pang at COYA. “Our menu was very well received by customers who arrived with the intention of sampling the limited-edition menu, or quickly took up the option once arriving. It was a fantastic value-add that demonstrated the versatility and creativity of our culinary team.”

Abu Dhabi Culinary Season launched in 2019 as a six-week festival conceived by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to shine the spotlight on Abu Dhabi as a global dining destination, home to a geographically-expansive and culturally-unique culinary landscape.

Taking place from 1st November to 15th December in 2020, this year’s Culinary Season will highlight the globetrotting array of world-class culinary talent championing Abu Dhabi’s eclectic food and beverage portfolio in the popular Chef’s Table events. With a diverse bill of signature dining experiences and interactive diners lined up for this year’s programme, stringent safety measures will be deployed across Abu Dhabi Culinary Season 2020.

As part of DCT Abu Dhabi’s mission to continue evolving the emirate’s hospitality ecosystem, Abu Dhabi Culinary Season is building a year-round food and beverage programme to increase the destination’s appeal to domestic residents and visitors. Mirroring the emirate’s wider convergence of traditional Arabian influences and cosmopolitan modernity, Abu Dhabi Culinary Season will now span a year-programme of signature foodinspired seasons, food-themed campaigns, and smaller community-based events, delivering inspirational food and beverage moments across the emirate’s annual events calendar to optimise momentum for the recurring annual festival.
