On Friday 7 February, we saw some of our top swimmers across all age groups compete at an outstanding level at the annual Swimming Sports Championships for Years 7 to 13. Aimee Crosbie continued to amaze everyone, breaking her own records in Intermediate 100m freestyle and 100m individual medley. Lucy McKinnon, our breaststroke champion, broke records in the 100m breaststroke and senior 50m breaststroke, while stand-out competitor Alice Waldow broke the School record for the 50m butterfly event.
Our Year 7 championship saw Frankie Dodunski taking first place, Celest Vo second place and Emma Li third. In Year 8 Molly Sherrard picked up the highest number of points taking first place, Madi Clark second and Abby Welsh third.
Woven in with the championship events were some fun house relays and non-championship finals that had the stands filled with house spirit and support for the swimmers.

Up-and-coming swimmer Arabella Duncan led the way for the junior age group, earning the maximum number of points for the age group. Suzie Kennelly took second, closely followed by Louise Masefield in third. As usual, Alice Waldow didn’t disappoint, taking the top spot for the senior age group. The rest of the podium was tightly contested, with Lucy McKinnon second and swimming co-captain Nicole Lockie in the third spot.
The intermediate age group was a fierce battle with Aimee Crosbie leading the pack. The national gold squad member broke records and was our ‘Champion of Champions’ (the School’s overall swimming champion) for the second year in a row. Jesse Welsh nabbed second place in this age group with Eva Allen completing the set.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so successful. Congratulations to all finalists.
