Don't let your worries get the best of you; Remember, Moses started out as a basket case. Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited Until you try to sit in their pews. Many folks want to serve God, But only as advisers. It is easier to preach ten sermons Than it is to live one. The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, But mosquitoes come close. When you get to your wit's end, You'll find God lives there. People are funny; they want the front of the bus, Middle of the road, And back of the church. Opportunity may knock once, But temptation bangs on the front door forever. Quit griping about your church; If it was perfect, you couldn't belong. If a church wants a better pastor, It only needs to pray for the one it has.

We're called to be witnesses, not lawyers or Judges. God Himself doesn't propose to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you? Some minds are like concrete Thoroughly mixed up and permanently set. Peace starts with a smile. I don't know why some people change churches; What difference does it make which one you stay home from?

November Sermon Series Living Out God’s Purpose! C.S. Lewis said, “There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’ ” As redeemed children of God, of course, we desire to belong to that first category, “Thy will be done.” On Sundays November 10, 17, & 24th the theme of our worship services will Living Out God’s Purpose! We will learn how the Holy Spirit, transforms us to be more like our Jesus, who willingly poured out his life in giving and serving, ultimately sacrificing his very life for our eternal lives. As your pastor, I pray that each of you will take advantage of these opportunities to discover how you can live out God’s Purposes in your life more and more each day, that you might be strengthened in faith both for eternity and for a fruitful life here on earth. The particular themes for the three Sundays are as follows: Sunday, Nov. 10th “Living With an Attitude of Gratitude”
Thanksgiving Eve Service Wednesday, Nov.27th at 6:30pm Come and worship and remember all the things we are grateful for. Bring canned goods that can be donated to a shelter/pantry.

November 23 & 24
Living out God’s Purpose Commitment Weekend Sat./Sunday, November 23rd/24th is our church community’s Commitment Weekend. I would like to encourage you to plan now to attend two important events. Saturday night or Sunday morning worship and a Celebration Breakfast immediately following each Sunday morning service. (This will be a catered breakfast by owner of “The Griddle” restaurant which many of you attend on Sunday mornings after services already.) On Saturday night we will be having a dessert social instead of the breakfast. Please be on the lookout for a letter coming your way which will explain much more about the
weekend and our attitude towards stewardship here at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church. Also understand, any commitment you may make this weekend is a personal matter between you and God. It stays private and we will not question that commitment or pressure you to give more, even if you feel you cannot make one at this time. Yet, I also feel it is of some spiritual importance that I give you the opportunity to make that yearly commitment in a prayerful and thoughtful manner. We will be contacting you to secure your reservation to attend the worship service and breakfast or dessert social so we know how
many to plan for. Thank you in advance for all that you already do to make Good Samaritan a great Christian community. I am so thankful to be a part of such a life-giving and hope filled community and I hope you are as well. Your Fellow Servant in Christ Pastor Don Lorfing “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel, (of Jesus Christ). Phil. 1:3-5
