Case Studies As part of the “Go-to-Market” launch plans for P&G’s Tide Pods, the brand wanted to drive product trial by distributing over 1 million samples through multiple channels. The challenge was how to allocate and control access to expensive samples via numerous consumer touch points that included branded websites, Facebook, YouTube, and television tagged with Shazam, while ensuring that consumers received samples as quickly as possible while being timed with in-store product availability. CCG developed a multichannel sample management solution allowing the brand to allocate sample inventories across Facebook, YouTube, Micro-Sites, mobile application, and Shazam, dynamically shifting inventories from one channel to another as consumer demand required. Meanwhile, CCG’s real-time analytics provided key insights throughout the campaign and enabled quick decision-making. CCG’s platform allowed only one request per consumer household, regardless of the consumer entry point. Our vertical integration facilitated quick fulfillment turnaround so that consumers received samples within two –three weeks after registration. CCG also provided end-to-end warehousing, packaging, and fulfillment of the 1 million consumer samples and the bulk distribution of samples to customer teams throughout the United States. Case Studies Proctor & Gamble (P&G) challenged CCG to develop a process and packaging to consolidate Consumer sample requests. These individual packages would contain multiple brand samples along with personalized, variable product literature, and relevant trackable household coupons. CCG developed a system that completely re-engineered P&G’s traditional product sampling and coupon fulfillment program. The new program provided a way for P&G to reduce or eliminate the duplication of effort across vertically siloed brands. This dramatically reduced cost, increased speed to market, strengthened the P&G Brand by consolidating products into one uniquely recognizable package, and increased Customer Satisfaction. The overall fulfillment processing was streamlined, data management and marketing effectiveness was more easily measured, and mailing costs were significantly reduced. The new process also reduced the cost-of-entry for P&G’s new or less popular brands allowing them to “piggy-back” their sampling and couponing along with much larger brands. Development of a personalized, variability printed coupon book with stratified and segmented discounts further reduced costs since coupon values were now “rulesdriven” based on Consumer loyalty or competitive positioning. This allowed for a more granular understanding of the marketing effectiveness and ROI. In the increasingly competitive luxury automobile industry, BMW of North America needed a way to bring together existing independent programs targeted at Customer loyalty through the duration of a financed or leased automobile, bring back previous BMW owners, and target owners of competitive vehicles. CCG was called upon to develop a powerful, flexible system capable of delivering highly personalized and relevant webpages, produce personalized e-mail and print relevant, focused, direct mail marketing. The system was capable of rapid application development and the quick changeover of imagery, copy, and the unique consumer offer. We also provided real-time detailed metrics so the marketing group could respond quickly by adjusting, removing, or updating offers as needed. Detailed information was provided by offer type, by dealer, by vehicle type and by owner demographic. Working closely with the BMW Marketing Group and BMW’s Advertising Agency, CCG brought all the needed resources together necessary to develop the total solution. CCG’s powerful composition system provided the backbone. We developed a web infrastructure that delivered a highly personalized, relevant, and consistent consumer experience. This production system also delivered consistently branded e-mail and digitally produced direct mail. CCG’s Data Management Team worked with BMW and their data company to drive as much relevance into the program as possible. Realtime reporting and dashboards were developed and available online for BMW Marketing and their Agency to monitor and manage the campaign(s). By integrating the system with CCG’s mailing and logistics capabilities, we were also able to provide a methodology to dynamically adjust between USPS delivery methods depending on consumer demographic and seasonality. This helped focus the delivery and timing of key, timed marketing messages while reducing overall mailing costs.
