Having places to race is good. The problem is when you have too many events back to back it hurts car counts. This was the case many back to back events hurts car counts across all series. There simply isn’t enough prep time between events. Many racers can’t afford to pay entry fees for that many events. So, I ask, is it good for the racer? The answer is a resounding no.

in January. Legacy kicked off their first event in Pahrump. The unlimited TT field was relatively small. Being a new event could have partially to do with it. Then came Best in the Desert’s Parker 425. Again, not a full field of unlimited vehicles. Next up is the King of the Hammers Desert Challenge. The unlimited trucks are promised their own race if there are enough trucks registered. As of press time, they will not have their own race. It is the same story for the other classes. Too What can be done about this problem? Promoters need to work together to space out their events and better accommodate the racer. Many will argue about having limited dates to obtain permits. I argue back is your series successful if you have low car counts? Make it good for the racer!
