What is Hepatitis? Hepatitis refers to the inflammation of the liver and can lead to severe health consequences. There are many different forms of Hepatitis include types A, B, C, D, E, and G. This article will explore the most common types of Hepatitis which include types A, B, and C. All 3 of these types are highly contagious.


Hepatitis A is caused by consuming contaminated food or water, Hepatitis B is a sexually transmitted disease caused by having unprotected sex. Hepatitis C is spread via direct contact with the blood of a person who already has this disease.


Signs & Symptoms of Hepatitis Signs of hepatitis are very similar to flu type symptoms. These symptoms include experiencing a loss of appetite, fatigue, mild fever, muscle and joint aches, nausea, vomiting, and pain in the stomach. As the virus worsens signs include dark urine, light-coloured stools, jaundice, hives, itchy skin, and bleeding inside of your body.


Tests & Treatment of Hepatitis In order to reduce your risk of infection it is important to wash your hands before and after handling food, practice safe sex, and avoid sharing personal materials which can come in contact with a person’s blood. These materials include needles, razors, toothbrushes, and nail clippers.
