Newsletter November 2017 Children’s Christmas Card Competition

Attention all children! WIN a fabulous prize To celebrate 120 years of providing services we are running a children’s Christmas Card Competition and would like you to design the front cover of Disabled Living’s e-Christmas card for 2017.

Many years ago when our charity, Disabled Living was formed the organisation sent thousands of Christmas hampers to disabled children together with a Christmas card. In our archives, we have found lovely, colourful cards from 1897 up to 1940 and thought it would be nice to recreate this part of our heritage. The competition is open to children and young people who are 16 years and under. The person who designs the winning card will receive a hamper of child friendly goodies and their design will be our Christmas card for 2017. Together with •Your Name •Age A fabulous design which is A5 in size. •Contact details – email or telephone number •Parents Name & contact details. The closing date to receive your design either by email or in the post is Tuesday 28th November 2017. What we need from you

Disabled Living Blogs We’ve had range of blogs throughout October. A big focus has been on Sensory Processing Awareness Month where we received a guest blog about the importance of raising awareness. We received a lot of traffic on a blog post prior to this about our recommended sensory suppliers. It was fantastic to hear that one of the suppliers listed received a new customer following the post being shared on social media. Another popular read was Bladder and Bowel UK’s blog dedicated to Autism Hour to raise awareness of the challenges that children and young people face with public toilets. We are still receiving Kidz to Adultz North 2017 pre-event blogs. These include Yorkshire Care Equipment and The Move Programme. We’re really looking forward to hearing about our exhibitors’ experiences after the event.
