Bali
Welcome to our world
Selamat datang and welcome to Indonesia!
My name is Hulu Wayan and I’m a tour guide from Bali – one of the over 17,000 islands comprising Indonesia.
What I love about my home country is definitely its diversity. With hundreds of languages and ethnic groups, Indonesia is a colourful mosaic of cultures, unique customs, rich heritage and fascinating history. At the same time, Indonesia’s range of landscapes is as vast as it is spectacular. With scenery stretching from the lofty peaks of volcanoes to magical beaches and into the depths of untouched rainforest, the archipelago is a veritable playground for adventurers.

Animal Initiatives
Encounters with animals are standard local practice within the tourism industry; protection and betterment of care for the world’s animals is a key focus for Discova and we believe that animal-friendly tourism is both possible and necessary.
As part of our commitment to wildlife, we have set standards for practices we will and will not allow. Discova has a clear supplier selection and audit process, as well as transparent feedback and a whistleblowing process to report violations. With this system, we commit to following best practices for the industry and require that our suppliers adhere to those standards too.
Protect the Animals
Often, travellers hope to have an encounter with local wildlife during their travels, the experience of coming faceto-face with a wild animal being something exceptional. From orangutans in the Bornean rainforest and Asian elephants in the jungle, to whale sharks in Mexico and sloths in Costa Rica’s canopy treetops, these encounters can be an extraordinary element to a trip – but only if the animals are treated ethically.
