Where Nature Meets Art
DuPage County is a destination where roads intersect. Where blooming tranquility creates the path for exploration. Where art and recreation unexpectedly and harmoniously combine. And where moments in nature offer true moments of a new-found self. We invite you to immerse yourself in nature and art in DuPage.
Of The Earth
Excitement awaits at The Morton Arboretum with Of the Earth, a captivating exhibition featuring five exclusive large-scale sculptures by acclaimed Polish American artist, Olga Ziemska. Her work is created from reclaimed tree branches and other natural materials gathered from the Arboretum’s 1,700 acres. Each masterpiece, entwining and melding the human body with other natural forms, carries a poignant meaning. For example, 'Hear: with an ear to the ground,' encourages spectators to be at peace with their surroundings, all while reminding us of our own physicality and connection to the earth and nature. Let the sculptures invite you to rediscover your own essence intertwined with the beauty of the natural world.
On display through Spring 2025 The Morton Arboretum www.mortonarb.org
Olmec Trails: Culture & Legacy
Travel back in time to the ancient Mesoamerican civilizations, specifically to 1400 BCE, to an ancient city now known as Veracruz, Mexico. This was the cultural capital of the Olmecs and currently has the largest display of headshaped stone sculptures. Each multi-ton sculpture, chiseled from a single stone using primitive tools, reflected the Olmecs' artistic capabilities and their significant influence on subsequent Mesoamerican cultures.
“Olmec Trails” pays tribute to the indigenous roots of Mexican heritage as well as brings attention to the importance of public art by showcasing the immense talent and creativity of more than 30 contemporary artists from across North America. This ambitious exhibition provides access to the culture of Olmec civilization in a fresh and accessible way by featuring hand-painted large-scale renditions of these iconic Mesoamerican sculptures. Installed on natural areas and nature trails throughout DuPage, “Olmec Trails” will connect spectators to these one of a kind works while providing healthy and enjoyable outdoor experiences with both physical and mental benefits.

France at Cantigny
Amidst the tranquil beauty of the sprawling Cantigny estate, anticipation fills the air for a year brimming with excitement.
Cantigny’s theme for 2024 is France, offering a diverse array of activities such as festivals, classes, concerts, exhibits, and family programs.
The connection to France runs deep; Cantigny is named for the French village where Robert R. McCormick, Cantigny's benefactor, joined in the first American victory in World War I as a member of the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division.
The First Division Museum at Cantigny honors the unit’s proud history. In 2024, the museum marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day with an immersive outdoor exhibit commemorating the historic events of June 6, 1944, in Normandy, France.
Nature meets art throughout the famous gardens of Cantigny, which this year feature the fables of French poet Jean de La Fontaine. Whimsical elements, colors, and interpretive panels carry the theme, along with seasonal plantings inspired by renowned French paintings.
Voyage en France, a one-day festival on July 20, and the Olympic Games in Paris, provide even more celebration points. Visitors can enjoy the Games during outdoor viewing parties in a garden setting at the newfor-2024 Cantigny Beer Garden.
A partnership with Paris Saint-Germain Academy in Chicago will draw youth soccer players to Cantigny for a skills camp and Soccer FEST in July.
Throughout 2024 Cantigny www.cantigny.org
Where there is nature, there is art. Feel the strokes of creativity as they seamlessly intertwine, beckoning you to embark on a journey where the realms of nature and art converge in a blended expression of inspiration.

HELPFUL TIPS UPON ARRIVAL
• Domestic and international arrivals, please contact one of the preferred transportation partners. They will direct you to the appropriate door and pick-up location.
• Suburban cabs are operated as pre-arranged rides, or dispatched rides. Due to security procedures, your assigned cab cannot wait for you at the curb so be sure to have your bags before you call. If you get into a Chicago city cab (located in the first lane) you will be charged time-and-a-half. See “SAVE TIME & MONEY!” under preferred transportation partners.
Directly contact your hotel for details about shuttle services or discounted flat rates to and from Chicago Airports.
