Introduction
Welcome to Your December Issue. A very warm welcome to this, not only our one hundredth, but also our last issue of 2019. Let me express my sincere thanks to all the team here at Discovering Magazines for all their magnificent efforts to produce this little gem which, this month, reaches the milestone of one hundred issues … and now with more pages than ever! I have been so proud to have seen its growth over the years and look forward to an even brighter future. Huge thanks go to everyone who has helped us in any way this year, especially our advertisers and contributors, with their regular features, wonderful advice and suggestions. Good news too in that our editor assures me that he has found a new source of mirth and merriment for his monthly “witty one-liners” … but I’m not holding my breath, (as the deepsea diver once said, drifting up to the surface!) Best wishes to you all for Christmas and for 2020 – good luck, but most importantly, good health!
Claire x
And so, into the final month of the year and a General Election to add even more clarity and certainty to the whole Brexit saga – but now’s not the time to dwell on fiction! The big news instead is that we’ve reached the “BIG 100” with this issue of Discovering Bourne. This month’s quiz has a “Centuries” theme, whilst many of the offerings from our contributors and advertisers have more than a taste of a forthcoming, fabulous Christmas ahead. Saturday November 30th sees our big switch-on of the Christmas lights and accompanying Magical Fayre, where the crowds flock in the streets and talented singers, musicians and dancers perform, to make it a memorable occasion for all concerned. There’s also our Novelty Christmas Treasure Hunt, along the streets of Bourne, with a £50 prize awaiting the winner. And, as 2019 disappears over the horizon, I’ll share a couple of crackers from this year’s Edinburgh Fringe: I was buying a dishwasher online, so I searched by price, lowest to highest – the top result was a sponge. (Darius Davies). Did you hear about the flea that went to the moon? Lunatic! (Felix & the Scootermen). Enjoy the read, and all the very best for Christmas and the new decade ahead.

A Century for “Discovering Bourne” – The Story So Far! This December 2019 issue is the hundredth one to be published by the “Discovering Magazines” team. “Discovering Magazines” began in August 2004 under the name, The Whittlesey Advertiser, a free black and white publication that was delivered to over 5,000 homes and businesses in, and around the town of Whittlesey, near Peterborough. Over the years, the magazine steadily grew in size and circulation, until November 2009, when it merged with Discover Whittlesey and was relaunched as Discovering Whittlesea, a community magazine featuring advertising and editorial. From the increasing success and reputation of Discovering Whittlesea, the next step was taken in September 2011, when Discovering Bourne was launched by publisher Andy Armstrong. The thirtytwo paged, free magazine was distributed to over six thousand homes in Bourne, and soon afterwards, several nearby villages were to be added to the distribution network. Two years later, in October 2013, “Discovering March” appeared, followed in July 2015 by “Discovering the Deepings”. The most recent arrival in the “Discovering Magazines” stable has been “Discovering Wisbech” in May 2018.
Issue #1 of “Discovering Bourne” featured the wide range of interesting and useful features which were soon to become our trademark. These included a welcome from Brenda Johnson who was Bourne’s mayor in 2011 – eight years on and Brenda is back again, in her second term as mayor and sharing all the details of her hectic life as Bourne’s “number one lady”! We reported record ‘A-Level’ results at both Bourne Grammar School and at the Robert Manning School. (That same month, Robert Manning was to be renamed “Bourne Academy”). Our photographs showed Laura Hancox, Rosie Goodman and Kayleigh Goodman; Joseph Cleveland and James Fountain; Amy Laidlow and Kerry Battams; and Finn McLean, Wesley Arthur and Matt Taylor. (Where are they now? – Ed.) The last eight years have seen Discovering Bourne’s distribution increase considerably, now providing eighty glossy pages of features, news, forthcoming events and advertisements, every month. Keep following us and “Discover” what the future has in store in the years to come, courtesy of your “favourite community lifestyle magazine”!

Remembrance Day in Bourne Sunday November 10th saw the town pay its respects to those who lost their lives during the World Wars and in conflicts since then. A large number of people took to the streets on a cold, but sunny, Sunday morning. The parade started from the bus station and marched down to the Memorial Gardens, watched by hundreds of onlookers, keen to also pay their respects. An emotional service started with the laying of over forty-five wreaths at the town’s War Memorial; the last post was expertly executed by Bourne Academy student, fourteen-year-old Jazmine Coia, followed by a two-minutes’ silence. The formal service was taken shortly afterwards by Father Chris Atkinson at the Abbey Church, to a packed congregation. Whilst the Remembrance Sunday commemorations hold special significance in the hearts of the general public, it is Armistice Day that signifies the
commemoration of the signing of the treaty ending the First World War on the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, at the eleventh hour. The Royal British Legion, along with the Town Council, also perform a short service at the War Memorial on this special day and will continue with this tradition in future years.
The Bourne Community Orchard – Review of the Year The orchard, which is adjacent to Bourne Woods, is managed by volunteers and all the trees have been purchased by members of the community. In addition, people sponsor the bird feeders, so the term “community” is very appropriate. Many trees (and all the benches) commemorate people who have passed away; others have been planted on behalf of grandchildren. We have a mixture of apples, pears, plums, and cherries as well as medlars, and even some raspberries. We have, by and large, had a successful year in the orchard. Late frosts caught some of the earlier blossom, but later varieties fruited well. The plums weren’t too brilliant this year, but the raspberries were the best-ever! There is now fruit available, for a donation, at the weekends and our Apple Day was a success, despite the weather. The juicer (kindly lent to us by the Stamford Community Orchard) was a particular success, producing delicious juice and involving quite a work-out in the process! The focus of our work parties for the last month or so has been the cutting and raking in of the hay/grass. In this we have been very fortunate in having the services of some fantastic students from the Bourne Academy, two of whom are working towards their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. Their diligence and work ethic are exemplary. Our big dilemma at this time of the year is the disposal of the grass crop. We have approached 14

local owners of livestock, but hay was widely available this year and, apparently, of better quality than ours. We have been incredibly fortunate to be helped out by Bourne Skip Hire, whose services we can’t praise enough - we thank them profusely. Our aims for the orchard include one to transform the rough grassland to a wildflower meadow and thereby improve its biodiversity. The pond has already attracted numerous dragonflies and damselflies as well as great crested newts and grass snakes (which went on to lay their egg masses in the compost heap). The long grass in the summer provided the ideal habitat for many species of butterfly, as well as a long list of other invertebrates. We hope that all those with an interest in the orchard will bear with us whilst we continue to work towards achieving a balance between fruit production and creating a wonderful habitat for wildlife and a legacy for the people of Bourne and surrounds. In the meantime, anyone who feels they would like to become involved in the Community Orchard, in any capacity, would be more than welcome. We have regular work parties on Saturday mornings, from 10am to 12 noon, and the orchard is open for visits in daylight hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Finally, a very big thank-you to all those who own trees or help/have helped in setting up and maintaining this worthwhile project. de ce m be r 2 0 1 9

Top Survival Tips for a Healthy, Stress-Free Christmas by Claire Saunders, Renu - Health, Beauty & Fitness
T
he lead-up to Christmas is a time to eat, drink and be merry! But how many of us will spend it stressed about the festivities and end it worrying about an increased waistline in January? Here are a few tips to help you out: 1. PARTIES Never go to a party hungry – eat a high protein, low fat snack before you go such as hummus and raw vegetables, or chicken and salad. Visit the buffet table once, fill your plate … and NEVER return! Resist friends’ and relatives’ pleas to eat heartily, and avoid standing close to the food table where you just might be tempted to “pick”. 2. ALCOHOL Alternate between an alcoholic drink and a glass of water, or simply dilute wine with soda or sparkling water
to make a refreshing and socially acceptable spritzer! 3. FOOD SHOPPING You are not preparing for a siege! The shops are closed for barely one day. Don’t overbuy food – just buy what you really need. Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the traditional “Christmas Fayre”. Eat the same foods, but less of all of them. Treat yourself to smoked salmon, unsalted cashew nuts, almonds and walnuts, instead of chocolates and pastries! 4. GIFT SHOPPING Gift vouchers are a perfect solution for Christmas gifts. They can be bought at the last minute if necessary, need little wrapping, and are easy to post. Expiry dates will take them well into the new year, so your friends and relatives will be remembering your kindness long after the decorations have come down!
5. TEMPTATION Avoid leaving bowls of chocolates, crisps and nuts lying around the house, and make a special effort not to sit next to them when you go visiting! 6. STRESS RELIEF Go for a stroll with the family after dinner. Sitting down, watching the television or DVDs, and playing board games lends itself to further nibbling. 7. EXERCISE Attend your regular exercise class if it’s available. Alternatively, go for a swim or a cycle ride. The rest of the family will just have to cope without you for a little while, and you’ll have certainly earned the break! Finally, remember, it’s not what you eat between Christmas and New Year that does the damage – it’s what you eat between New Year and Christmas that really counts!

Imagine How Different Christmas Would be Without the Stress? Christmas is meant to be a time of togetherness with family, fun, joy and selfless thought towards others. However, Christmas can often just seem like another one of life’s major stresses. What makes Christmas stressful? First, there’s the preparation, the shopping in frenzied, crowded stores, people pushing and shoving and you worrying whether so-and-so will like the present you’ve bought them. Then there’s the cooking and organizing and, of course, the financial strain that the extra cost of Christmas entails. Many of us get seriously in debt (or more in debt) after the Christmas holiday. But the biggest stress of Christmas comes from the very essence of what Christmas is supposed to be all about … other people and togetherness. “It’s the expectations of having a ‘perfect Christmas’ that drive this stress” Pressure can come from other angles too, such as trying to stick to that healthy eating regime, social anxiety, keeping phobias at bay at Christmas, (you would be surprised to discover there are many different phobias which can be problematic at Christmas time) and also keeping depression or even anger at bay at this time of year too. Alcohol isn’t helpful either, destroying the happy chemical in our brain leaving us more susceptible to stress, anxiety, anger and depression. What is stress? Stress is a feeling we get when we feel under too much pressure, whether that comes from outside sources or from ourselves. A small amount of stress can actually be useful, as it
prompts us into action. When it builds up, however, it can lead to physical and psychological problems, including anxiety, panic attacks, high blood pressure, insomnia, headaches and even depression. We can become stressed by anything that seems to exceed our ability to cope and causes stress hormone levels to rise in our bloodstream. Hypnotherapy for stress Hypnotherapy will relax you deeply and prepare your mind to feel calm about the prospect of Christmas. You’ll find yourself feeling more relaxed during the holiday season and actually enjoying Christmas. Hypnotherapy for stress management can help you gain a completely different perspective on life, not just for the holidays. Clinical hypnotherapy helps assess the issues and identifying their root, whether it is a situation, a physical issue, a past experience or a relationship. Working collaboratively, the therapist and client will set goals, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and create routines for healthy stress management, helping create a happy and positive mind. Hypnotherapy is well known in successfully helping people to stop smoking in one simple session, but it can also be used to help in other, tremendously positive ways from panic attacks, depression, phobias, OCD, IBS, PTSD, childbirth/children, addictions, hypertension, needle phobia, improving confidence and sleep, through to easing stress/anxiety to promote relaxation and much more. “Transform a stressful Christmas into a relaxed one”

Ambition Hair and Beauty has Moved – But Just Round the Corner! When the Dotty Hen Vintage Furniture premises became vacant recently, (with their move to a larger site on Spalding Road), the owner of nearby Ambition Hair Studio, Debbie Sheehan, saw the opportunity to enlarge her business, with potential to expand further, whilst also now providing car parking space for her clients. The new Ambition salon is, literally, just round the corner, at 17 Abbey Road, on the way to the market. Debbie has now been twenty-four years in the hairdressing profession, (eighteen of them at the original salon) and, along with her sister, Fiona Dawson, she has established a firm reputation in the town. Her Ambition salon has provided an extensive range of quality hairdressing services, (styling, cutting and colouring), to ladies, men and children, and

Debbie is keen to point out that, since the move from Abbey Road on November 11th, it will still be a small, friendly salon, but with a wider range of services on offer. The Ambition salon now use the prestigious “Montibello” range of luxury haircare products, and within the colour range on offer, there is now a vegan option for her discerning clients. There is now a beauty room where waxing, eyelash and brow tinting are available, and Debbie has plans to expand further. To that end, she is seeking to appoint two new stylists and a nail technician, so, if you would like to join Debbie on her “ambitious journey”, please contact her with your details. The Ambition salon is open every day, except for Tuesdays and Sundays.

Deep-in Aesthetics - One Very Successful Year On a review by partner, Julie Higgins. We have received many five-star reviews from our clients, who have remarked on our professionalism, service and friendly manner. Most of the clients that have come to us have done so because they recognise Alistair as someone from the local community, who has lived and worked there for seventeen years and been a pharmacist for over twenty-one. He is known from the pharmacy for his professional manner in helping patients that came to him at that time and the clinical knowledge that he used to ensure the quality of their care. They have chosen to come with Alistair and myself in this new venture in
the aesthetics world, selecting us over other, cheaper, alternative providers because of their respect for him in his abilities. We aim to fulfil all of our clients’ needs, in changing their looks and helping them to feel better and more confident in themselves. With the current upsurge in demand for Botox and fillers, we feel we have a responsibility to remain professional at all times
and provide the best service we can at a fair price and, as a result of this, we were selected and authorised to be the chosen aesthetics company to advertise within the two main hospitals in Peterborough and Stamford. This again is a recognition of how we see ourselves above and beyond other clinics. We would like to invite any prospective clients to come and meet us at the clinic for a free consultation and to take advantage of the many offers that we provide. Think … it’s not too early to say, “New year... new you!”

Mayor
Dinosaurs are Heading to Peterborough Cathedral
Words from the Mayor Brenda Johnson
I was so pleased to welcome everyone that came to my Civic Dinner on October 11th. The food was lovely, thanks to Andy Binder and his team, and the entertainment kept everyone dancing. The following week I was invited to bingo at the Willows Nursing Home in Rippingale, to raise money for breast cancer. This was a highly successful afternoon, raising a good amount for the cause. There followed Civic Services in Louth and at the Burghley Park Golf Club, whilst I also went to Grantham with two other Bourne Councillors, to the Emergency Training Day held at the British Red Cross Centre. The next day I helped at The Little Miracles with their ‘Silent Fireworks and Halloween Party’. This was a great afternoon and the children really enjoyed it. We were really pleased to be able to attend the Bourne Army Cadets presentation evening on October 30th, and then to open the Garden of Remembrance in front of the Darby and Joan Hall. Next came the Bourne fireworks display on Manning Road and a great evening was had by all. Although there had been a lot of rain and the field was very muddy, it stayed dry for the evening and the display was exceptional. Well done to all involved in making this such a great event. On November 3rd, we went to Horncastle for the Civic Service of The Chairman of West Lindsey District Council. It is always nice to chat to people from other areas and encourage them to visit Bourne. Bourne again did themselves proud for Remembrance Sunday this year. It was an honour to take the salute and see so many people in the parade, with such a lot of young people taking part. The Memorial Gardens were full and the addition of the shower of poppies again this year was wonderful. Many thanks to the bugle player, and to Father Chris who led a full church for the service that followed. We finished the morning with tea and cake in the Darby and Joan Hall to raise even more money for the poppy appeal. Thanks to Helen and all her helpers. Looking ahead … Dyke Village Hall are holding a Christmas singalong on December 7th, with mulled wine and a finger buffet (sponsored by Tesco), to raise money for L.I.V.E.S first responders. The tuneless choir are coming to help us with the singing, so please come and join us. Note that the Race Night scheduled for November 16th has now been moved to December 13th, at 7pm in the Corn Exchange. Tickets at £5 are available from myself or the Town Clerk and there will be a raffle and nibbles. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a great Christmas and a Happy New Year, and just in case you haven’t heard … we have a General Election on December 12th, so don’t forget to vote! 34

Peterborough Cathedral has announced that it is to display the Natural History Museum’s touring exhibition, “T. rex: The Killer Question”, during the summer of 2020. Amongst the collection is a moving, three-quarter size T. rex, as well as a life-size T. rex skeleton and a twelve-metre-long static model of the creature. Models of other dinosaurs, such as Saurornitholestes, Ankylosaurus, Deinonychus and Edmontosaurus, will also be shown alongside T. rex for comparison, so that visitors can consider the ‘killer question’: “Was T. rex a ferocious hunter or a mere scavenger?” It is planned that the exhibition will be on show from July 20th to August 31st, and tickets will go on sale in the new year. The Cathedral’s regular programme of services will carry on as usual. To make sure you receive an email alert as soon as there is more news about the exhibition, please e-mail t.rex@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk. To find out more about sponsorship opportunities and the equipment and skills are needed for the installation, please e-mail operations@peterborough-cathedral. org.uk. Information is also on the Cathedral’s website at www.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/t. rex or you can follow the hashtag #trexcathedral on social media.

Double and Megson Solicitors Congratulate “Discovering Bourne” by Richard Wood
As solicitors, we are pleased to contribute to “Discovering Bourne” and offer our congratulations on your milestone achievement. At our Bourne office, we have been advising clients for over forty years now, (sometimes second and third generations of families). The thought of seeking professional advice may sometimes seem a little daunting. At Double and Megson, we pride ourselves on our friendly “down to earth” approach. Although some clients come in for a single “one off” appointment, there are clients who, by the nature of the help they need, become friends of the practice because each party knows the other quite well. At the heart of what we do, however, is to offer that individual touch that perhaps is not always available in some other situations today. We offer all the usual ‘high street’ areas of practice such as wills, probate and Power of Attorney; residential
conveyancing and commercial property; family matters such as divorce or separation; financial matters and children issues; employment advice; and forms of dispute resolution (including most areas of civil litigation). Over the last forty years, the law has changed considerably, but we still believe that “rounded” legal knowledge really matters. Whereas some other practices may only specialise within one subject area for each professional, our advisers have maintained a good grounding in a number of areas of the law. This aids with a general understanding. Our practice is passionate about the needs of our clients and the day-to-day operation of the law. The concept of “Client Care” is at the heart of what we do, and also to focus on what our clients are trying to achieve. We wish the magazine continuing success.
Congratulations Double & Megson

“I’m Really Not Sure About Pensions!” - by Matthew Biggs - Liberty Partnership Ltd
Sound familiar? When you left school and started working, you probably had no idea what a pension was, how it worked and how it could benefit you; well rest assured … you were not alone! Pensions can be an effective way of managing your finances from a young age, all the way up until you intend to retire, from age fiftyfive onwards. “How?” I hear you ask. Well, truth be told, there are many ways in which a pension, and more specifically pension contributions, can benefit you and potentially others. For example, if you have young children, but are unable to claim full child benefit as someone in your household earns above £50,000 per year, then a pension contribution could help.
56
D I S C O V E R I N G
Are you lucky enough to earn over £100,000 per year? Well, if so, you will be paying higher rates of tax at 40% or 45% and you will have lost some or all of your tax-free personal allowance! Again, a pension contribution can help. Are you a business owner and would like to look at tax-efficient ways of extracting money from your business? Once again a pension contribution can help! Now let’s talk about Tax Relief. Simply put, tax relief is where the government “tops
Bourne
up” a personal pension contribution by 20% but, if you are a 40% or 45% taxpayer, you can claim an additional 20% or 25% tax relief. This could also be the case for your workplace pension so, if you pay tax above 20%, then you may be able to claim additional tax relief. So, whether you’re just starting out or are soon looking to retire, a pension can provide great planning opportunities; it’s not that complicated, as we can help simplify your planning and help you with all the paperwork. If you would like to speak to one of our friendly and experienced Financial Planners, then please contact our office on 01778 342291 to arrange a FREE initial meeting.

Consumer Advice
Stay Merry, not Miserable in the Run-Up to Christmas ‘TIS the season to be jolly – but as we prepare for the season of goodwill, not everyone shares the Christmas spirit. With many of us starting the Christmas shopping earlier, there is a fair chance that many of our shop purchases and online orders are beginning to pile up. So, with gifts galore adding to the decorations, tree, food and drink, December is a time when many of us let our guard down, amongst the excitement leading up to the big day. For opportunist thieves, visible presents under the tree, open car boots full of shopping while loads are being taken into the house, and even the possibility of an unlocked garage are rich pickings which can turn your Christmas from being ‘Merry’ into ‘Miserable’! Equally, flaws in home security while out and about visiting friends and family are a beacon to thieves – so always remember to check your alarm and never leave doors, windows or garages unlocked. Some tips for a safe and happy festive season: • Don’t leave presents in full view – either in the home or on the back seat of the car. • Shorter days mean a longer time for thieves to be in operation – always lock your car and front door when entering your home.

• Keep a light on indoors and outdoors if you are out visiting friends or family. • It may be an idea to fit some motion detector security lighting – it won’t just be carol singers who come calling. • Keep your personal data safe – and securely dispose of receipts. • If you are expecting parcels or deliveries whilst you are away from home, try and arrange for them to be delivered to an alternative address instead of them being hidden by the bins!

• If buying bikes and / or electronic equipment for Christmas – mark them with your postcode • If using outdoor festive lighting, ensure cables aren’t passed through windows, leaving enough of a gap for burglars to make use of. • Away over Christmas? – plan ahead. If you’re going away at Christmas, be sure to cancel any newspaper or milk subscriptions. Arrange for a neighbour to park on the driveway to help create the impression someone is home. Achieve your Financial Goals with Minimum Investment Risk - Part 1 by Adrian Hallas DipPFS, Independent Financial Adviser Introduction Stock market investment can offer everyone real opportunities to achieve goals that would otherwise be unobtainable. However, it is important to understand that returns above those offered by a regular savings account involve a level of financial risk. This is number 1 in a series of articles that take you, step by step, through an investment process to achieve a financial objective, while minimising investment risk. 1. Define your financial objective Goals are general aspirations, whereas objectives are measurable and have a defined timeframe within which they must be achieved. For example, your financial goal may be to buy a boat that you can sail round the world when you retire. Your financial objective is more specific and could be to build a capital sum of £220k, to purchase the boat, within a period of twelve years. Note that, to take advantage of long-term trends, you should hold stock market investments for a minimum of five years and preferably ten years or more. So, write down your target amount and target date. 2. Calculate the investment return you will need Now you have defined your destination, you need to understand your starting point. So, decide if you are going to invest a lump sum and / or make regular investments. Next, calculate the investment return needed to grow your investment amount, to reach your target amount, within the agreed timescale. You can find a free calculator to help you with this at: www.wellheadifa.co.uk/return-calc Continuing with the example of purchasing a boat, you might decide to invest a lump sum of £100k for twelve years. To reach the target of £220k, the calculator shows that you will need to achieve a return of 6.8% above inflation.
3. Assess your willingness to take financial risk You can use a short psychometric questionnaire to assess your willingness to take financial risk, various examples of which can be found online. The output from the questionnaire is typically a risk rating, for example between one and ten, with one being the most cautious and ten being the most adventurous. This rating is commonly known as your Attitude To Risk (ATR). Please note, that nothing in this article constitutes investment or financial advice. In Part 2 Next time we’ll look at your capacity to absorb financial loss and go on to discuss how an investment portfolio is created to match a defined level of risk. If you can’t wait until next month, you can access the full series at: www.wellheadifa.co.uk/news.

Newton Fallowell’s Review of the Year by Jason Treadwell, Managing Director With Christmas approaching, many can be forgiven for thinking that this would be a quiet time to be an estate agent… think again! With the new year on the horizon, many prospective buyers and sellers are not waiting and are beginning their search and launching their home to the market in December, in order to beat the ‘New Year rush’. Boxing Day has proven to be extremely popular on the online platforms, such as Rightmove, with record viewing numbers being reported, year on year. It has been reported that Boxing Day is one of, if not the busiest day of the year for viewing numbers, therefore what better time to have your home online? Here, at Newton Fallowell, we are discreetly marketing numerous homes prior to Christmas, launching to the market on Boxing Day. This allows us to show our proactivity with our database of buyers, and arrange viewings, whilst beating the influx of properties coming to the market in the new year, who will miss out on the active Christmas period.
new year, it is also important to reflect on our successes throughout 2019. These successes have come in the form of the number of properties sold and lets agreed, new instructions, many five-star reviews and awards received. We were extremely pleased to have received multiple awards at this year’s annual Newton Fallowell conference, where we are in competition with the other Newton Fallowell franchises. We also proudly achieved Gold in the British Property Awards, competing against other agents in the Bourne area. More recently, we held a successful Landlords Evening at Smiths of Bourne, where we were able to provide advice to both new and existing landlords.
expanded the team further with the addition of Kieran Chadwick, who joins us as a Sales Negotiator. With previous experience within the industry, he comes with a passion for property and desire to expand the business into the number one spot in 2020. Whilst 2019 has certainly been a success for Newton Fallowell, Bourne, with a rise to second place within the town, our ambition is set on finishing number one next year. We hope that our proactive approach and high level of customer service will allow us to do this, and we look forward to assisting you in the coming year.

Indemnities may be required. Offers are not available in conjunction with any other offer and may be varied or withdrawn at any time. Accurate at time of publication. Freepost Volkswagen Financial Services. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare fuel consumption and CO2 and electric range figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. There is a new test used for fuel consumption and CO2 figures (known as WLTP). The CO2 figures shown however, are based on a calculation designed to be equivalent to the outgoing (NEDC) test cycle and will be used to calculate vehicle tax on first registration. For more information, please see www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/wltp or consult your retailer. Data correct at 11/2019. Figures quoted are for a range of configurations and are subject to change due to ongoing approvals/changes. Please consult your retailer for further information. Official fuel consumption figures for the Volkswagen range model range in mpg (litres/100km): Combined 0 (0) – 217.3 (11.1). Combined CO2 emissions 0 – 205 g/ km.
