JULY 2020
Introduction
Welcome to Your July Issue. Inside Highlights
Welcome to July’s issue of your favourite community lifestyle magazine. As I write, I’m full of optimism after having recently spent a whole morning visiting a host of shop owners in Bourne. Monday June 15th had been earmarked weeks ago as the day when non-essential retail outlets could re-open after twelve long weeks ‘locked down’. Still very cautious and adhering to the guidelines regarding social distance, we were able to see such relief on many smiling faces, as the light at the end of this dismal old tunnel is starting to become brighter with each passing day. Yes, it has been hell for many, with redundancies and a likely recession both being a serious threat. However, I have been so impressed with the many ways people in our area have pulled together, sharing and caring, all keen to come out of this horrible pandemic stronger than before. Those cheerful shop owners and customers sent out a message – we are now ready to get back to normal, so let’s keep on our guard, follow the advice and keep caring for each other. That optimism is tangible and hopefully reflected on many of the pages in front of you right now.

Local businesses have started the slow process of returning to some sort of normality following the recent easing of the ‘lockdown’. A recovery plan to support the safe and successful reopening of town high streets has been introduced by Fenland District Council to help kick-start the local economy by encouraging customers back to the shops while keeping everyone safe. Now, more than ever, it is time for us all to join together and support local businesses, many of whom have suffered great hardship because of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Day-to-day life won’t be the same as pre-COVID for some time, but we should all try to help in the rebirth of our community. The government-imposed restrictions designed to safeguard the population since March 2020, have led to changes to our habits, resulting in us all being mainly confined to our homes and – weather permitting – our gardens. I for one can’t wait to get out and about and hope that when this current crisis is over we remember all those who continued to work to help maintain essential services during its worst days…

July Gardening Tips
J
uly is a joy as you start to pick all those wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables. However, the vegetable patch or allotment is still very demanding, and watering and weeding are key. Make sure you keep crops well-watered. It is better to water them frequently and generously, as intermittent watering can cause problems with flowers falling, fruits failing to form, skins splitting and premature bolting. Watering at the beginning or end of the day is preferable as the temperatures are lower and the sun not so strong and spreading a mulch will help to slow down evaporation and suppress weeds. Also hoeing is good for water retention as it breaks up the soil and it also keeps weeds at bay. It is now time to lift garlic; hang the bulbs out in the sun or in an airy shed. Onions also need drying well before they are stored. A few days before harvesting, loosen the soil around the roots, choose a dry day to lift the bulbs and lay them on the ground in the sun. Do not be tempted to store them until they are thoroughly dry as they will not keep as long and probably rot. Also, early potatoes can be lifted and, if you are not using the space for anything else, a green manure can be planted, such as mustard (a fast growing crop), which will help prevent weed growth and can be dug in, when fully grown, to provide nutrients for the soil. Although it is getting late for sowing and planting, there are still a few crops that can be planted:
4
D I S C O V E R I N G
Whittlesea
• Lettuce, rocket and a variety of salad leaves – succession sow for an ongoing supply in the autumn. • Fast-growing varieties of peas, beetroot and carrots. • Florence fennel. •
Plant out your leeks. Just dib a hole about 150mm, six inches deep and drop the leek into the hole. Water it in and the job’s done. You do not need to fill the holes with soil; enough will wash in with watering and rain. The reason you plant in a hole is to blanch the stem.
•
Plant out cabbage, cauliflowers, Brussels, broccoli and kale for autumn and winter cropping, using the space created by lifting onions, garlic and early potatoes.
• Plant potatoes ready for Christmas. Garden centres usually stock the winter varieties. Other jobs to do in the vegetable patch: • When climbing beans have reached the top of the canes, pinch out the growing tip. • Strawberries will finish fruiting so tidy up old foliage and cut off runners or use them to produce new plants. • Earth up brassicas to give them a firm hold in the soil and give them a top-dressing of nitrogenous fertilizer or an organic liquid feed. •
Don’t forget to nip off the side shoots of your tomatoes, they appear in the ‘v’ between leaf stems and main stems, and when there are four or five trusses, pinch out the growing tip of the plant to allow the fruit to ripen.
Enjoy the fruits of your labour!

Changes in Pension Advice by Eamonn Dorling
it out of the pension fund value. This might not be possible later this year unless the work has been started. If funding the advice from other funds is not a problem, this will have little impact, however, if paying in advance for the work would be difficult, and this is something that you wish to consider – I suggest raising the matter with your independent financial adviser at the earliest opportunity. There are very few specialist pension-switching advisers carrying out this work. There are many schemes that are so good that you may be ill advised to interfere with, but there are also schemes and circumstances that make switching very helpful.
Some fortunate employees have Defined Benefit (final salary, or career average) pension arrangements; they might be current or from an earlier career. In the past it was usual to accept the guaranteed income for life that may have been accompanied by a tax-free lump sum. Then legislation changed – providing the option of Flexible Drawdown, which might be an attractive option although it is not suitable in all cases. There were fears that some individuals might have access to a substantial sum of money, spend it and then have no income in retirement – therefore specialist pension advice was deemed essential. Until recently, it was possible to research whether a switch to flexible drawdown would be appropriate or not, then pay for the advice depending on whether you went ahead with
Apart from Defined Benefit schemes, there are some personal pensions that do not provide access to all the current features and benefits that a modern arrangement does. It is not possible to know whether action should be taken or not without understanding all the circumstances, but if you need advice – seek out an independent financial adviser for a free initial ‘meeting’ that might be by phone or a virtual meeting via the internet rather than face-to-face now. Matters
FENLAND ACTS TO ENSURE SAFE RE-OPENING OF HIGH STREETS A recovery plan to support the safe and successful re-opening of Fenland’s high streets was put in place in June as the district took its first steps towards getting back to business. Fenland District Council drew up a blueprint of measures to help kick-start the local economy, keep people safe and encourage customers back to the shops as coronavirus lockdown restrictions eased. From Monday, June 15th, people have been able to visit non-essential retail outlets such as clothing stores and charity shops, which could reopen if COVID-19 safety guidelines were met. In the first phase of its plan, the council introduced a range of visual measures in and around March and Fenland’s other town centres, such as pavement markings, street signage and banners, to help shoppers observe social distancing. Signage was being installed at car parks, bus stops, and busy or narrow footways, to complement measures from local highways authority, Cambridgeshire County Council. There was also additional cleansing of town centres, council-owned public toilets and public open spaces, and council officers were set to regularly patrol each of the towns to offer guidance to shoppers and respond to any concerns. The measures will be reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure they remain relevant, with changes being made in response to public concerns or suggestions and business need.
We bring you items of interest for your home and community. If there is something you’d like us to cover or you have something to say please get in touch at: Discovering Whittlesea, Benwick Road Ind. Est., Benwick Road, Whittlesey, Peterborough, PE7 2HD
editor.whittlesea@discoveringmagazines.co.uk
It will also use business survey feedback to provide more tailored support for businesses and develop its approach for the re-opening of food businesses ready for early July. The council is set to receive approximately £90,000 for the work from the Government’s £50 million Reopening High Streets Safely Fund. Leader of Fenland District Council Cllr Chris Boden said: “As lockdown measures are gradually eased it is imperative that our retailers, who have been significantly impacted by this pandemic, are given the opportunity to get back to business and people have the confidence to support them. “We welcome funding from the Government to start the careful process of reopening our high streets and look forward to working with businesses to make this happen, with customer safety as a top priority.” Cllr Ian Benney, the council’s portfolio holder for economic growth, added: “Essential shops, such as supermarkets and pharmacies, have already shown that while safe trading is challenging, it is achievable.” He added: “As we get used to a ‘new normal’ on our high streets it is also more important than ever for communities to shop local. By choosing to spend your money in a small business you are helping to support and protect our local economy.”
The council is also working with businesses to help identify areas where it can further support business recovery. Local businesses and market traders are being contacted, and a survey has been launched, to gauge the level of support needed. Any businesses that need assistance to re-open safely, such as help with signage or co-ordinating how people can queue and social distance safely, can fill in the survey at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/ r/L7H8D3X In the second phase of the plan, the council will develop ideas to encourage people to shop locally and investigate how the recovery work can build on proposals to boost the economic fortunes of the towns as outlined in the Growing Fenland Masterplans. 12

“With this in mind I’d like to issue a heartfelt thank you to all those who have provided vital support and assistance to local residents, as well as NHS staff, carers, council staff and other keyworkers working on the frontline to keep us safe and the country running. “I would also like to thank Cllr Mrs Mayor for her hard work during the past three years in office and offer my congratulations for raising over £3800 for her chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, during that time.” District councillor for March West, Cllr Rob Skoulding, was elected as vice-chairman for the year. Cllr Mrs Mayor told members: “Thank you all for putting your trust in me; it was totally unexpected that I was asked to do a third term as chairman.
NEW COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PAYS TRIBUTE TO FENLAND’S CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE Councillor Alex Miscandlon paid tribute to the district’s heartwarming response to the coronavirus crisis, as he was elected to the role of Fenland District Council chairman. At a virtual annual council meeting, the district councillor for Benwick, Coates and Eastrea, said he had been ‘humbled’ by the tireless efforts of NHS staff, care and key workers, and volunteers helping the vulnerable through the pandemic. Cllr Miscandlon, who has been a district councillor for nine years, was unanimously elected for the 2020/21 civic year – taking over from the council’s longest serving chairman, Cllr Mrs Kay Mayor, who served three terms of office. He said: “It is a real honour to have been chosen for this role and I will be delighted to wear the chain of office knowing my fellow councillors have put their faith in me. “My civic duties will look somewhat different this year as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, but I will continue to do my utmost to represent the council and promote our fantastic district. Over recent weeks we have all pulled together for the good of our communities which is something Fenland can be rightly proud of.
“It has truly been an honour and privilege to have served as both vice-chairman and chairman over the last five years and to have had the opportunity to represent Fenland through attending and supporting other authorities and organisations at their civic functions and charity fundraising events. I have met some truly inspirational people and made some good friends along the way. “Sadly the coronavirus pandemic has caused life as we knew it to change dramatically. Gatherings have been cancelled or postponed and our meetings held virtually. Civic life has been brought to a very abrupt end and all planned events sadly cancelled.” In her speech Cllr Mrs Mayor also said she missed her good friends, fellow Whittlesey councillor Alan Bristow and former district councillor and Mayor of March, Kit Owen, both of whom have passed away in recent months.
GRANTS PAID TO SMALL BUSINESSES Fenland District Council has paid out the first grants from its new Local Authority Discretionary Grant Fund to help support small businesses during the coronavirus crisis. The council has been allocated £985,000 from the Government for the fund, which aims to provide extra support to small and micro businesses which missed out on the earlier premises-based funding.

Consumer Advice Need a Tradesman to Carry Out Work in Your Home? Here’s What You Need to Know by Eileen Le Voi at Safe Local Trades The government’s easing of some of the lockdown measures means that many of our Safe Local Trades members have returned to work; much of it carried out in customers’ homes. Social distancing rules apply in the same way as in other aspects of life as we currently know it. So how does this affect you if you require a tradesperson to visit your property? In simple terms, you ARE permitted to ask a tradesperson to carry out work on your property (inside and out) or in your garden. It is a personal choice on the part of the customer, so long as a few simple rules are adhered to: • As of May 4th, the government guidance is that tradespeople can continue to work, providing they are well, and that they (or no one in their household) has COVID-19 symptoms. • If your neighbour has tradespeople visiting their home, they are NOT flouting the social distancing rules simply by having work carried out at their property. • As a tradesperson or cleaner, you should maintain a safe distance (at least two metres) from any household occupants at all times, and ensure good ventilation in the area where you are working, including opening the window. • Any households self-isolating due to COVID-19, or anyone with vulnerable occupants, cannot re-employ their workers as they risk spreading the virus, according to the government guidance. • Before attending a job, maintenance workers should contact families twenty minutes before they arrive so homeowners can prepare to keep a safe two metre distance. • Once inside, they should wash hands for twenty seconds and adhere to the social distancing rules. • Tradesmen may ask households to leave all internal doors open to minimise contact with door handles. • Face coverings have not yet been deemed mandatory but can be worn as a precaution. All our Safe Local Trades members are aware of the social distancing and other rules concerning carrying out home improvements at customers’ homes, and the importance of adhering to them. We would advise customers who are thinking about resuming work in their home to get in touch with the relevant trader through the Safe Local Trades website if they have any concerns. For the UK government’s full guidance on trades visiting the home during the coronavirus pandemic visit https://bit.ly/3dHHlnq JULY 2020

NEW WHITTLESEY WHITTLESEY ROTARY HELPS AND DISTRICT THE COMMUNITY AND MAYOR LOOKS TO THE FUTURE Councillor David Mason has been elected the new Whittlesey Town Council mayor.
This will be Cllr Mason's second spell as mayor, the first being from 2013-2015. The mayoress is his wife, Ann Mason. The deputy mayor will be Cllr Mrs Dee Laws, her consort being Cllr Mrs Kay Mayor. Previous mayor, Cllr Mrs Julie Windle, offered Cllr Mason her congratulations as her successor.
ALDERMAN JACOBS SCHOOL CELEBRATES 60TH ANNIVERSARY Alderman Jacobs School in Whittlesey celebrated its diamond anniversary on June 1st, marking sixty years of education, achievements, and memories. Throughout this time, two or sometimes three generations of families have passed through its doors and the school has continued to grow as a key part of the local community. Due to the current coronavirus crisis, the school was unable to celebrate in a traditional way and so invited all its children and their families to celebrate from home instead and they did this in fantastic style!
Rotarians in Whittlesey have found ways to help the community in their local area during the coronavirus pandemic using funds raised to give relief and assistance. In the early weeks of lockdown, £400 was given to the Foodbank scheme in Whittlesey, together with £200 to ‘Helping Whittlesey’ who have provided hot cooked meals on a weekly basis to those in the community in need of support, providing someone to talk to, collect medication and food. Recently, £1500 was given by Rotarians from the President’s charity monies to YPCS, the youth counselling scheme which provides counsellors to work with schools and colleges to give support to children experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties. Money was raised mainly from a Proms concert held earlier this year and other fun activities Rotarians held, including the summer and Christmas extravaganzas. Whittlesey Rotary welcomes new members and whilst at the present time it is holding Zoom meetings, anyone interested in becoming a member can join in to find out more of the events planned for later this year and into next year for fundraising and social enjoyment, including a beer festival, Proms night, life education quiz, petanque evening and other visits. For further details please contact via the club secretary on 01733 208081 or email: whittleseyrotary@gmail.com Photo: On behalf of the Rotary Club president Richard Hunt receives a certificate for helping Whittlesey from former Whittlesey mayor Cllr Mrs Julie Windle
From cards and posters to baking and tea parties, they helped to give the school a wonderful birthday celebration. Naomi York, community links lead, said: “It has been wonderful to see so many of our children and families getting involved and celebrating from home in lots of creative ways. We are now planning a big celebration for when we are all back in school together and we are very excited to see what the school and its pupils can achieve in the next sixty years.” 20

150g fresh strawberries 90g caster sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 500g tub of low-fat natural yogurt 100g melted white chocolate 60g sugar balls or strands
You will need
6 or 8 ice lolly moulds 6 or 8 ice lolly sticks
JULY 2020
Method
1 Put the strawberries, caster sugar and vanilla extract into a bowl. Crush the fruit until roughly broken up and the sugar has dissolved. 2
Mix in the low-fat natural yogurt. Pour into the ice-lolly moulds and freeze. Once frozen, take them out of the moulds and dip the tips of the lollies in the melted white chocolate, then quickly dip them in the sugar balls or strands. Serve as soon as they set!

Wines Worth Locating: The Winebarn
G
ermany utilises Riesling grapes to great advantage and the resulting wines have a range from Trocken (dry), Kabinett (mediumdry), through medium and sweet, to Beerenauslese (very sweet) and Eiswein (even sweeter).
The WineBarn Ltd company specialises in finding, importing and offering German wines of superb quality and elegance. Their managing director is Iris Ellmann, who is very much acknowledged and respected, and one of the UK’s first Fellows (The Riesling Fellowship), as an expert in German wines. The team are extremely proud of having been recognised as The IWC Best German Wine Merchant. Advice includes recommendations for food pairings and for any other occasions and events. The WineBarn also offers a Rare and Antique Wines Service, sourcing elusive investment wines from hidden German cellars. For this ‘quest’ I searched for dry Riesling wines.
The Allendorf family have a history of over 700 years, living and working in the Rheingau region, which is home to the famed Riesling white wine grape. Their estate is recognised as one of the largest family-owned wineries in the Rheingau. ‘Allendorf Save Water Drink Riesling’ (dry) has a primary fruity sensation, including apricot and crisp apple, for the nasal senses. Continuing to the mouthfeel and palate’s enjoyment, this is a very popular, refreshing wine. www.thewinebarn.co.uk/collections/allendorf 26

Since the latter part of the 15th century, the Aldinger family have worked the land in the town of Fellbach. Committed and dedicated to their productions, the wines produced have exceptional quality. ‘Aldinger Rebhuhn Riesling Trocken’ I found to have very acceptable orchard fruits on the bouquet. It is certainly crisp and fresh, with a good finish on the palate. Ideal to grace many dining tables, this is another popular production. www.thewinebarn.co.uk/collections/aldinger Riesling wines are great to accompany numerous dishes of cuisine, as well as having the ability to be enjoyed on their own. These and many more excellent wines with a passion, (a good number of which are multi-award-winning) are available from The WineBarn Ltd. Ordering is easy and available online, too. Orders are dealt with quickly and efficiently, dispatching to all types of properties, including hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, retailers, private clients, homes and offices. The WineBarn is delivering now. Keep Active with Oaks: Judith Says Go For It!
S
imple strength and balance exercises twice a week are proven to keep you stronger for longer and ready to enjoy the great things you like doing when life returns to normal.
Cambridgeshire County Council is encouraging people to keep active at home, so they’ll stay strong, steady and be able to keep doing the things they enjoy – for longer. Judith (70) has been doing ‘Keep Active with Oaks’ classes every day during lockdown since finding them on Facebook (the link is available via the council’s Be Well website www.cambridgeshire. gov.uk/strongerforlonger) Judith is waiting for a knee operation, and admits that with the way things are at the moment it’s sometimes hard to get out of bed, but doing the exercises with Lou from Oaks Activities sets her up for each day and puts a smile on her face. Judith said: “I use a walking stick at the moment, and can only walk so far, so exercising at home is the perfect solution for me, and Lou manages

to cheer me up with her new routines every day. I have a good laugh and I work hard. I used to go to keep-fit years ago and every class was the same, but with Lou each class is brilliant. “I like the 9.30am class but sometimes it doesn’t suit me to do it then, so I watch it back and do it later. I enjoy watching the other classes too, even if I can’t do all the exercises! “If anyone is thinking about taking part but hesitating, my advice is to go at your own pace, listen to your body – and go for it!” To join a class or find out more about the importance of strength and balance activities visit: www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/strongerforlonger Cambridgeshire County Council is supporting the Oak Activities free online classes as part of the ‘Stronger for Longer’ campaign. The classes have been funded by Power2Inspire and Cambridgeshire Community Foundation. Live classes are every weekday at 9.30am (beginners), 12pm (intermediate) or 3pm (advanced).

ORCHARD HOUSE CARE HOME – WHERE OUR FAMILY CARES FOR YOUR FAMILY
Situated in a pleasant residential area of Wisbech, Orchard House Care Home is purpose-built and carefully designed to support our residents to live happy, fulfi lled, and comfortable lives. We offer bespoke meaningful and person-centred, residential dementia, nursing, and end of life care on a short term, long term, or respite basis, where we care for your family like one of our own. What sets us apart at Orchard House is that there is never a dull moment! With a varied and vibrant social lifestyle on offer, there is always something for everyone with recent activities including glamorous fashion shows, armchair aerobics, and karaoke sessions. Residents have also enjoyed keeping the garden in full bloom, perfect for all of the BBQs we enjoy. Heather, a resident from Orchard House, says: “Many good carers, real affection and interested. Looked after me kindly while I had fun.” Orchard House is a home from home. You can spend time in our bright and relaxing social lounges, where you can take part in daily activities, or spend time with friends and loved ones. Our dining room is perfect for enjoying our freshly and lovingly prepared daily menus and all bedrooms are beautifully decorated and homely. We are very proud of the great links we have within our local community. Earlier this year, we welcomed students from the College of West Anglia across 32

a range of departments – students on construction and decorating courses volunteered their time to help spruce up the garden and home, and a team of hair and beauty students provided glamorous Hollywood makeovers to residents for a recent ‘movie’ themed fashion show where our residents hit the catwalk themselves. We are so grateful for the support we’ve received from our local community, families, and friends during the global pandemic. From staff at the local college making masks, to posters and banners created by our extended family, the support has come from all ages, including Eden Rose, aged four, who wanted to lift our spirits during this difficult time. Eden’s Aunt Sarah, our deputy manager, explained: “She spent many hours sat at her drawing desk completing these posters, she also

stands outside clapping with her xylophone every Thursday to show her appreciation to all the keyworkers!” We’ve also been supported by our local ‘Blue Light Heroes’, especially our local Fire Service who joined us for #ClapForCarers on Thursdays. Family is the beating heart of Orchard House, and during these past few months we’ve ensured that our residents and their loved ones have been kept connected with regular FaceTime and Skype sessions and have also created our own bi-weekly magazine. Registered Manager Maxine Bain said: “We have wonderful links with our families, and during these last few months, because we’ve put such an emphasis on making sure our residents and families have stayed connected, they are now even stronger!” Kerry Bell, the daughter-in-law of a resident at Orchard House, praised the care her mother-in-law has received: “The change in my mother-in-law in less than a week is nothing short of amazing. She has dementia and was not eating or drinking properly, not talking, not walking without assistance and just slept all day. The care she has received is exceptional. Her room is homely but functional. She eats and drinks everything. She is talking all the time, she’s awake all day and walking with a stick. She truly has a new lease of life and I put it all down to the amazing care she has received at Orchard House.” JULY 2020

APPLY NOW FOR GREATER
PETERBOROUGH UTC
We are excited to announce that Greater Peterborough UTC is now accepting applications from students who wish to start with us in Year 9, 10 and 12 in September 2020! After a successful consultation and with the full support of the Baker Dearing Trust we are finally able to share this excellent news, which means that young people who are passionate about STEM are now able to come to our school at an even earlier age. We are the school of choice for the engineers, architects, scientists and designers of the future in Peterborough and the surrounding area. Our innovative approach prioritises employer-led enrichment activities, work experience and personalised careers’ guidance, alongside technical and traditional qualifications at GCSE and A Level standard. "Expanding our age range to include year 9 means we are able to offer our specialist curriculum to even more of Peterborough's young engineers, architects and designers." GPUTC Principal, Mr Bisley
To ensure students are well prepared for their GCSE exams, Year 9 students will study English, Maths and Science in a way that is linked closely to their project-based challenges. Teachers will focus on closing any knowledge and skills gaps, embedding and accelerating students’ learning, ensuring a smooth and purposeful transition from their previous schooling, so all students are ready to start their GCSE programmes in earnest at the start of Year 10. Students will also have one hour of PE and one hour of personal development per week. Applications are now open for Year 9 as well as Year 10 and 12 for a September 2020 start. For more information visit www.gputc.com, call 01733 715950, email applications@gputc.com and follow our socials @GPUTC

Church Matters
WHITTLESEY CHRISTIAN CHURCH Things are not always as they appear A good minister friend of ours was renowned for his unusual, but meaningful sayings. I recall him using one such saying and wrote it in the back of my Bible. It said: ‘Today let your words be sweet and tender because tomorrow you may have to eat them.’ As unusual as this saying was it made a great impact on my life and counselling and leadership ability. As humans, how often do we jump to the wrong conclusions because we make judgements based purely on what we see, and not necessarily on what the real situation is? Then we react accordingly, sometimes with devastating effects. I’m reminded of a very revealing verse in the Bible concerning the difference between God and humanity. It says: The Lord does not see things like humanity sees them. Humanity looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. In 1987 Jeff Pierce won one stage of the Tour de France. In 1994 he became captain and top competitor of the USA Chevrolet-L.A. Sheriff professional cycling team. In the same year he accepted an interesting but potentially
dangerous assignment to write an article for the cycling magazine Bicycle Guide. This required him to become a bike messenger in downtown New York. For one month he rode his custom made $2500 (in 1994) racing bike for eleven hours each day, weaving in and out of traffic on the busy streets. Because he was worried about this expensive bike being stolen as he dashed into buildings to deliver his parcels, he decided to wrap duct tape around his bike frame and paint it black. It looked like a real cheap piece of junk, and his plan worked. No-one touched it. Things may not always be what they appear. Let’s learn to look at each other’s heart, not just their actions alone.
