Introduction

Welcome to Your November Issue. Inside Highlights

A warm welcome to our penultimate issue of the year... and what a year it has been! Back in January, there was a oneliner doing the rounds: “How do I know what this year’s going to bring? I haven’t got 20/20 vision!” Little did anyone realise...! We’ll have all learned many things this year: just how an hour of exercise during lockdown can be so beneficial; how a group of sewing-machines and their wonderful operatives can produce so much fabulous PPE in record time; and how everyone now realises the immense value of our NHS, hoping that all of those “Thursday evening clapathons” will not be forgotten, once the pay rounds begin! The list could go on, with all of our educators and “key workers” deserving immense praise too. This month, we see many references on our pages to Christmas, barely ten weeks away, and so there is hopefully some bright light for us all, as we peer through this (admittedly very gloomy) tunnel! I hope you are all keeping safe and sane, and that our magazine can help you through these troubling times.

For more years than I care to remember I have attended my local Remembrance Parade. Standing with friends and family in the same position each year in tribute to those who gave their lives defending Britain and those who continue to protect these shores. I’ve attended with my parents, my children and with my friends, come rain or shine, but this year things will be different. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the numbers taking part have been limited and people have been urged to stay away. This month there are suggestions that we should display a poppy in a home window to show our respect and support for our armed forces community or even give them a round of applause. Whatever you decide to do, spare a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice either on the day of the parade – Sunday, November 8th – or the official Remembrance Day of November 11th , the anniversary of when the guns fell silent to mark the end of the First World War.

osé wines have been very popular for drinking during the summer months, but I am now finding that ‘pink’ wines are a regular choice for many throughout the year.

Today, these wines are produced by a good number of countries globally, satisfying wine lovers (and demand) worldwide. The rose colour adds ‘something’ to a dining table, including al fresco dining. Events and numerous occasions are enhanced by these elegant, colourful wines, in varying shades. They also make splendid pre-dining drinks, as well as being perfect accompaniments to a lot of cuisine, such as seafood and pasta dishes. Canti Extra Dry is a very popular choice for many (Italy 11% vol). I found this Vino Spumante production to have a good, enticing bouquet of fruits and a fresh mouthfeel, with a very pleasant flavour. The persistent perlage adds to the experience, splendidly.

Other popular ‘sparklers’ (with a lower and alcohol-free content) include Extra Special Pink Muscat. Grape juice concentrate is blended with sparkling water to produce this refreshing beverage. Freixenet Alcohol-Free Sparkling (Spain) is a further production that pleases many with its light and fruity flavour. Extra Special Pinot Grigio is a rosé from Italy (12% vol). This wine has a very pale pink colour, which 4

D I S C O V E R I N G

Whittlesea

attracts to the elegant experience for the mouth’s pleasures and on to the palate’s enjoyment. Staying with Italian productions, Canti Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie (12% vol) has many devotees. Again, regularly selected by numerous ‘pink’ lovers, this wine certainly does not disappoint.

Trevor L a n g le y

Over in the France section, two that ‘caught my eye’ were Vin De Provence (13% vol) and Prophecy (12.5% vol). I found the former, with its delicate pink salmon colour, to be refreshingly dry and elegant and the latter, which also has good flavours of red fruits, to follow the nasal senses, wonderfully. Last, (but not least) Rose Les Estivales (France 12% vol) is my finishing personal selection. It is refreshing and with a pleasant floral bouquet, leading to the fruit flavours, right through to the palate’s sensation and enjoyment, to the end. I located these wines at an Asda store, where I found great value on their extensive drinks sections, which include award–winning productions. www.asda.com

Recipe

TOFFEE APPLES Toffee apples are popular at this time of the year and the kids will love helping to decorate them with their favourite sweets and treats!

Method

Ingredients

• Insert a wooden skewer or lolly stick into the stalk end of each apple. Line a large baking tray with baking parchment.

10 wooden skewers (or lolly sticks) 10 Golden Delicious apples, scrubbed 350g Fairtrade light soft brown sugar 2 tsp white wine vinegar 35g unsalted English butter 2 tbsp golden syrup To decorate, why not try sugar stars, crushed ginger snap biscuits, chocolate M&Ms, sprinkles or bits of popcorn? Yummy!

8

D I S C O V E R I N G

• Put the sugar in a heavy-based pan with 120ml cold water and heat gently, stirring until it dissolves. Bring to the boil and add the vinegar, butter and golden syrup. Boil gently for 12 minutes, until it has reached the soft-crack stage (138°C on a sugar thermometer, or the point at which a little of the mixture, dropped into cold water, forms threads that bend slightly before breaking). • Dip the bottom two-thirds of the apple in the toffee, turning to coat. Working quickly, get the children to add their decoration of choice to each apple. Leave to set on the baking parchment for 15 minutes.

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

I am sure that as the autumn days grow shorter and the nights continue to draw in, thoughts will be turning to how Whittlesey and the surrounding villages will commemorate Remembrance Day this year. There have been no official central government instructions or guidance issued on procedures for Remembrance Day ceremonies except for arrangements in London at the Cenotaph which will be greatly scaled down this year. At this stage, it has been left very much to local authorities to decide on what should take place in their own local areas. In the Fenland area, opinion is divided on how the day should be marked. For instance, in March only five people will parade, and spectators are being asked not to parade but to stand outside their homes at 11am on Sunday, November 8th. Nationally, in response to the present COVID-19 crisis, there are areas where spectators are being advised to stay at home and a token wreath is to be laid by a local dignitary. Whittlesey Town Council discussed this matter at the last full council meeting, and I have met with the town clerk and parade marshal subsequently to discuss options. It would be unthinkable to abandon a ceremony of respect for those who have given their lives in conflict whilst in the service of their country but at the same time we have to be mindful of government guidelines issued during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Accordingly, it has been decided that a scaled down Ceremony of Remembrance will be held at Whittlesey War Memorial at 2.30pm on Sunday, November 8th, 2020 with a limited number of wreaths being laid. This will be composed of a wreath laid by the Deputy Lieutenant, His Honour Neil McKittrick, on behalf of the Queen, followed by wreaths laid on behalf of Whittlesey Town Council, Fenland District Council, the Armed Forces and Veterans and the British Legion. 10

D I S C O V E R I N G

Whittlesea

There will be no street parade preceding and no service at St Mary's Church afterwards. There will also be no reception at the Ivy Leaf Club, Whittlesey. Should any organisation wish to lay a wreath after the official ceremony has concluded they are most welcome to lay their wreaths informally. There will be acts of remembrance attended by representatives of Whittlesey Town Council at Coates and Pondersbridge at 11am and at Turves and Eastrea at noon on the Sunday. In the interests of the public in general, I would ask that as many as possible stay at home and pay their respects by watching the Cenotaph ceremony on television. Locally, it is to be hoped that Fenland Youth Radio will be able to broadcast the short service at the Whittlesey War Memorial and a visual recording of proceedings undertaken by Robert Windle for distribution on social media later. I fully realise that these arrangements will not please everyone and some will be extremely disappointed. The decisions are not taken lightly but with the best interests of everyone in mind during these unprecedented times. A short act of remembrance will be held as usual at Whittlesey War Memorial on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 at 11am. These are the arrangements as they stand at present and may change, according to how the present Covid-19-related situation progresses. ALDERMAN JACOBS SCHOOL NEWS t has been an exciting and busy first half term at Alderman Jacobs School! We have been delighted to safely welcome the children back and it has been great to see them all settle in so well.

Head teacher Cathy Carlisle said: “The children at Alderman Jacobs School have very quickly settled into all the new routines and after so much time away from school it's wonderful to see and hear children learning and socialising again."

Unfortunately, due to current restrictions, the school is unable to offer school visits in person. As a result, we have been working hard to develop a virtual tour to show what our brilliant school has to offer. The tour video will be available to view through our school website and features a tour of the building, appearances from members of our staff and just a taste of the fantastic things that happen in our school every day. We are all looking forward to a successful school year together and to welcoming visitors back very soon!

One of the biggest changes to the school is the exciting playground paintings and vibrant new murals on the school walls. Created by Nathan Nice from Street Arts Hire, and captured in image by Nathan at In Motion, the paintings have made an excellent and eye-catching addition to the playgrounds and the children have been enthusiastic about the improvements to the outside space.

Alderman Jacobs School

Applications now open for 2020-21 school starters.

We invite you to view our Virtual Tour of our school on our website www.aldermanjacobs.cambs.sch.uk/aboutus For more information on how to apply for a school place, please call 01733 202403 or go to our website.

he Peterborough & Fenland Referee Development Scheme is a member of the Whittlesey Sports Association. Throughout the area there are many local football teams which all hope that a referee is appointed to their match on a Saturday or a Sunday.

Due to the ways of the world, daily paper rounds are getting less and less, as local papers move to a weekly edition, and opportunities for young people to earn some money are greatly reduced. This is one way to be involved, stay fit and earn some cash. The Peterborough & Fenland Referee Development Scheme is the young referees’ training arm of the Peterborough Referees Association. The aim is to support and mentor young referees who could be aged just fourteen. The scheme also visits local primary schools in Whittlesey and Coates, providing education about respect, sportsmanship, and fair play. It has organised girls’ football festivals and supported the Primary Schools’ Sports Quiz. Professional referees 16

from the Premier League have also made guest appearances in local Whittlesey schools giving an insight on what it’s like refereeing in front of millions. This scheme has proudly won national awards for its community work in the schools and by encouraging those interested in football to take up refereeing and then supporting them afterwards. Many referees start by officiating in the Peterborough & District Junior Alliance football league. Some have been promoted and have had great opportunities to be a match official at international schoolboys and girl fixtures or national finals at professional football grounds. Any boy and girl interested in giving it a go must be aged over fourteen and must attend a course, usually in Peterborough, during the holiday half-terms. For details of the next referees courses, go to www.northamptonshirefa.com/referee or www.cambridgeshirefa.com Facebook Peterborough Referees Association has all things about refereeing for this area. WHITTLESEY CHRISTIAN CHURCH

THE IMPORTANCE OF VALUES Sometime ago I came across an interesting article concerning what appears to be the changing values of the American homebuyer. The reporter interviewed a builder, architect, and estate agent concerning what people looked for when purchasing high value houses of one million dollars+. The reporter expected to hear that such houses would be built to the highest standards of luxury and quality and was shocked to find this was not the case. The forty-million-dollar new home of a billionaire software developer had pine cladding so vulnerable to decay it started to rot soon after the home was completed. The designs of a multimillion-dollar home for a high-profile businessman in the entertainment industry included a fancy looking wall that was so thin it would soon buckle under its own weight. Home building industry experts and architects say that ‘most buyers agonise over the wrong things.’ Many high value property buyers ‘find it boring to spend money or time on foundations, walls and the roof. They’d rather focus on what they can see as opposed to constructional qualities.’

20

D I S C O V E R I N G

Whittlesea

As it is with homes, so it is with people. In a generation which has placed such a high value on possessions, this pandemic has caused many to re-think their values. Too many people put all their effort into image and appearance and pay no attention to the importance of real values. You may be interested in the following facts: • The cosmetic surgery industry in the UK is currently worth around £3.6 billion a year • 28.3 thousand cosmetic surgeries were carried out in the UK. • Women account for 92 percent of all cosmetic surgeries. I’m reminded of a Bible verse which says ‘What is life? It’s like a vapour, here today and gone tomorrow.’ God bless you. CARE HOME SUPPORTS QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL, KINGS LYNN, TO RAISE FUNDS FOR A CAUSE CLOSE TO THEIR HEARTS

W

hen it seems impossible to think of anything else other than Covid-19, a heartbreaking tragedy for a well-loved and respected team member at Orchard House Care Home brought everyone together, to embrace and support their much-beloved friend and colleague. The Residential Dementia and Nursing Home in Wisbech is renowned for their fun initiatives and activities, fundraising, their community spirit and, above all, their love of family. So, when Egle, one of the home’s nurses, gave birth to a little boy, born sleeping, named Adas earlier this spring, everyone was devastated for Egle and her family. Without hesitation, Egle knew she wanted to do something to show her appreciation to the staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn, in memory of her son. “I wanted to say thank you to the amazing staff, I wanted to say it in more than just words. The Foetal Medicines and Bereavement Midwife, Sharon Younge, told me about their campaign to build a Maternity Bereavement Suite.” This is to provide a dedicated and welcoming place for families who

22

D I S C O V E R I N G

As well as lots from staff and families, we were also kindly donated numerous hampers and gift vouchers from various companies to help us

sadly lose their babies, either during or shortly after birth, and give them the opportunity to create precious memories. Egle explained, “I’d experienced what it was like to not

have my baby, but still be able to hear all the other new-born babies in the same ward as me – I knew how other families would feel and wanted to do all I could to support their fundraising.” Egle’s family and friends all started fundraising, and when she returned to work, the Orchard House “family” C sprang into action, suggesting a Fun M Day which would bring everyone together (staff and residents alike) to Y help raise as much money as possible CM in memory of Adas. MY On the actual day, even though socially distanced, everyone enjoyed CY the music, food and refreshments, CMY games, raffles and an auction, “ As K well as lots from staff and families, we were also kindly donated numerous hampers and gift vouchers from various companies to help us,” explained Orchard House Administrator, Kayleigh. A staggering total of £1,500 was raised, to which RCH Care Homes, the care provider, under which Orchard House Care Home operates, kindly donated an additional £500. Egle and her family recently presented the cheque for £2,000 to the Queen Elizabeth team who were blown away by this substantial donation towards the Bereavement Suite. Egle concluded, “I couldn’t believe the amount of money that was raised in memory of my son Adas. There are no words to say what it has meant. I have been a part of Orchard House for six years and they are like another family to me.” N OV E M BE R 2 0 2 0

YOUNG FOOTBALLERS RECEIVE MEDALS Thanks to the Peterborough and Fenland Referee Development Scheme, Whittlesey’s Park Lane and New Road pupils had the great opportunity to gain a medal for their footballing efforts.

ADVICE FOR FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS A Peterborough business owner and mum has written a book aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs who are juggling busy family-lives alongside their drive for success. Jo Bevilacqua (36) wrote No Longer Last on the List in response to her own experiences setting up and running three successful businesses, whilst also raising a family. Jo, whose businesses have won several awards, said that while her book wasn’t about the pandemic, she realised Covid-19 was shining a spotlight on the many challenges and inequalities women face on a daily basis. She said: “The book explores many of the issues that affect women today: motherhood, the weight of other people’s expectations, social media, relationships and work. I wanted to help other women put their own needs first, which in turn will help them achieve their goals and love their lives even more.”

Despite Covid-19 restrictions, this did not deter the pupils from showing off their silky skills. Scheme leader Robert Windle was delighted that the medals put a smile on the pupils’ faces and although, due to restrictions, he could not attend personally, he was grateful to Mrs Janette Bowden, who leads the PE in the schools, for organising the events. He said: “Over the last five years we have supported fair play, sportsmanship and respect in football in the Whittlesey schools and in previous years we have organised for a top Premier League referee to visit Whittlesey. Many thanks go to BGL whose financial support also made this possible for the youngsters to get their rewards." There are still spaces available for the free, fun football sessions organised by Whittlesey Sports Association in conjunction with Whittlesey Junior Football Club which will be starting under lights at Thornham Way, Eastrea on Monday, November 2nd, and at Station Road Recreation Ground Whittlesey on Wednesday, November 4th. The four-week sessions are aimed at boys and girls aged six-nine. Full details can be found on Whittlesey Sports Association’s Facebook page. Photo: Young footballers with their medals. Photo courtesy of Robert Windle, RWT Photography

The book draws on Jo’s experiences and her techniques for success. It walks the reader through powerful activities and attitudes that can shift their mindset from feeling stuck at the bottom of their priorities to finding fulfilment. People who buy will receive a ticket to one of Jo’s online masterclasses, which takes women through the fundamentals of setting up a successful business. The book is available from Amazon UK or through Jo’s website: www.jobevilacqua.com/nolongerlastonthelist Telephone 0333 666 3366 (fees apply). 24

Until March the sessions had previously been held at the Whittlesey Christian Church but as the space was required for Emergency Food Aid, a new home was required and the charity stepped in to help. Peter Hau thanked the Whittlesey Charities and Table Tennis England for their support and he hopes that others will join the sessions, which are strictly adhering to all safety measures and are open to all abilities even those who have never played before. PLANNING CONCERNS RAISED The Government is currently consulting on its Planning for the Future white paper, which proposes a number of radical changes to planning policy and regulations. Fenland District Council has serious concerns regarding some of the proposals, particularly the proposed method for assessing local housing need, which determines the number of new homes that must be built in Fenland every year. The proposed changes to the methodology would see a huge increase in housing targets for Fenland. The district would see the biggest hike in Cambridgeshire, rising from 538 new homes per annum to 844 per annum – an increase of 57 percent. N OVEM B ER 2020

CHRISTMAS MAGIC RETURNS TO CATHEDRAL

of Peterborough Cathedral and this year more than ever we’re looking forward to digging out our Christmas jumpers and presenting a really memorable afternoon and evening of festive fun for all the family!”

Christmas Magic, a local favourite Christmas celebration, is set to return to Peterborough Cathedral on Saturday, December 12th. After an uncertain few months, this is fantastic news for Peterborough and its multi-award winning choirs Peterborough Male Voice Choir and Peterborough Voices, and a wonderful opportunity for them to return to performing with one of their best-loved events of the year. With a 2.30pm matinee for the whole family to enjoy as well as an evening performance at 7.30pm, there’s something for everyone young and old, so be sure to bring the kids and the grandparents too! Showcasing performances from Peterborough Male Voice Choir and Peterborough Voices, Christmas Magic will also feature Peterborough Festival Brass with instrumental classics like Sleigh Ride. The choirs’ director William Prideaux said: “Christmas Magic is a wonderful opportunity for us to have fun, celebrate and put on a fantastic show for our home audience, who give us such fantastic support throughout the year. It’s the icing on the cake to perform in the stunning setting

GARDENING TIPS

I

t is now the time to prepare for next year. Winter digging is a priority and is best done as quickly as the ground conditions allow, so that there is plenty of time for the frost to break down the soil and provide a good tilth for sowing next year’s crops.

Make sure that the plot is tidy and clear of summer crops; don’t leave them to rot as this can increase the risk of disease and harbour unwanted pests. Once dug over, add well-rotted manure (no need to dig it in) or compost and cover the soil with plastic or weed suppressant as this keeps the weeds at bay and, as it keeps the soil relatively warm, planting can start earlier in the spring. Autumn always brings a plethora of leaves. They take a while to rot down in the compost heap, but leaf mould makes a good mulch. Make a cage to contain the leaves, using four stakes and stapling chicken wire around them. Just throw the leaves in and leave them for a year to rot down. Alternatively, you can put them in a bin liner with some soil, make holes in the side and leave to rot down. Tasks for this month include: •

Propagate rhubarb crowns by lifting and dividing into smaller pieces, planting at the same depth in their new position, spread well-rotted manure around the plant, but don’t cover the crown.

Secure covers over compost heaps/bins; although the material needs to be damp, winter rain and snow will saturate it, thus slowing the rotting process down.

• Plan the crop rotation for next year. Planting one group of vegetables in the same ground year after year increases the risk of a build-up of disease. There are websites that provide planners, one example is www.gardenplanner.suttons.co.uk • Dismantle bean canes, if you haven’t already, as leaving them in the ground will cause the bases to rot. •

Start to harvest winter cabbage, Brussels sprouts, leeks and parsnips, (wait until after a frost for the parsnips, as the frost encourages the sugars which give parsnips their sweetness). Pick sprouts from the bottom up as this allows the top ones a chance to swell.

Plant garlic cloves, if you haven’t already, and if you have heavy soil that tends to hold water then put either gravel or sharp sand in the base of the hole before planting. If you have planted them check that the birds have not dislodged them.

Check netting on brassicas as the pigeons will be hungry in the cold months and can strip a plant bare in no time. Remove any yellowing leaves as leaving them to rot risks spreading grey mould.

• Plant early ‘overwintering’ broad beans (either in the ground or in pots), peas, shallots, and onions. Happy gardening!

What Might The Chancellor Do In Spring 2021? by Eamonn Dorling

reforms and adjustments to duties and allowances. This is only my speculation, but I feel that those decisions are potentially for another day. Many people expect tax gathering to fund the expenditure post-Covid to be spread over many parliaments. It is also thought that the degree of biting taxation needs to be carefully considered because of what economists call the ‘Ramsey Rule’. Basically, there is a sweet spot at which more tax revenue will be paid as the rate increases, up to the point at which people find ways around paying it at all.

Of course, I do not know the answer, and in all probability neither does Chancellor Rishi Sunak. Many will realise that the planned Autumn Budget did not happen; in its place there was a winter economy plan, mostly a commentary on where we are thought to be as the Covid-19 pandemic unfolds. There was further support announced for job retention, easing the burdens on business, support for public services and a host of data emanating from the Office for National Statistics, which is having a whale of a time currently. The scheduled Autumn Budget could hardly have been delivered because at least two pieces of vital work had been postponed. It is also possible that the Government did not wish to show its hand now, in respect of the usual tax

My view is that this side of New Year is too soon to be upsetting the population any more than necessary in respect to taxes and financial incentives (taxes and allowances can go down as well as up). If this is the case, it is probable that some allowances and incentives currently available might not be when it is politically better to be introducing changes. This is longhand for suggesting that if you are able to consider retirement planning, estate preservation or maximising your discretionary spending, there is no better time to have a meeting with an independent financial adviser. Consumer Advice

Give Doorstep Traders The Cold Shoulder As Winter Sets In by Eileen Le Voi at Safe Local Trades At this time of year, the elements can take their toll on the home; we can expect gusty winds and heavy rain to play havoc when it comes to guttering, roof tiles, fences and even trees. Your driveway may have also lost its summer sparkle and be in need of a deep clean. Trading Standards always advise to never accept an offer of work from cold callers who “happen to be in your area”. Don’t be fooled by business cards with websites and telephone numbers which look genuine. Politely take the card and say you will contact them at your convenience. You can then check their contact details or ask a family member or friend to do so on your behalf. Here are some simple but effective ways to ‘winter proof’ your home and garden, and avoid a November nightmare: 1) Check all external pipes for breaks, leaks, and blockages. Blocked or leaking pipes can freeze during the cold months, then expand and burst, causing potentially expensive water damage. 2) Think about insulation. A properly insulated property is an absolute must. Make sure that you check the basics, starting with obvious draft points. Invest in some draft excluder to keep doors and windows secure. Check the cladding around your boiler and pipes, and make sure that taps don’t leak. 3) Bleed your radiators. A great way to warm up your property is to bleed the radiators. This releases any trapped air, allowing hot water to fill every part of your radiator and warm the property more efficiently.

4) Arrange for a professional to service your boiler each year. As everyone starts to switch on or boost their central heating, the surge in gas consumption can lead to a big increase in boiler breakdowns. 5) Clear out your gutters. In autumn, leaves can collect in gutters and drains, leading to blocks and overflows. 6) If your chimneys are in use, make sure that they get swept every year. This will remove the build-up of dirt and grime from your chimney walls. Make www.safelocaltrades.com your first port of call for all those winter maintenance jobs. Professional, recommended and reliable trades from chimney sweeps, boiler maintenance and electricians to roofing specialists, plumbers and tree surgeons – all in line with Covid-19 safety guidelines. HELP TO PROTECT JOBS – By Steve Barclay MP

I

t now looks like we will be living with the coronavirus for at least another six months.

This will be a worrying time for many locally, both in terms of the risk of the virus itself, the wider health impact including on loneliness and mental health, and the economic consequences affecting jobs. Within the Treasury I have been working with the Chancellor of the Exchequer to protect as many jobs as possible. This has involved in September launching our Winter Plan for Jobs, including a new job support scheme together with plans to support businesses with cash flow pressure by deferring tax and extending loans. More than half of those who were on furlough have already come back to work which shows that the job schemes have helped.

Trains Some news has been more concerning, such as the decision of Cross Country trains to reduce local rail services. I am pleased that following my intervention with the Rail Minister and his discussion with the train company, this decision was quickly reversed.

Where jobs cannot be saved it is crucial that skills training and investment in our infrastructure like road building, rail investment, and green jobs to meet our climate change commitments enable people to bounce back quickly, and that remains our key focus.

Farming September also saw the NFU ‘Back British Farming’ campaign which I was delighted to support. Farming is at the heart of our rural economy and it is important to encourage parliamentary colleagues to focus on the importance of our farming sector.

Training Locally we have seen some good news recently such as the £3.16m of funding for the new vocational training school at Metalcraft, which will provide extra apprenticeships which are particularly welcome.

As the nights draw in, and the weather gets colder, I know our community spirit will continue to shine through as we deal with the current Covid pandemic. I am here to help, together with my parliamentary office, so please do get in touch if we can be of assistance.
