Prepare for Arrival
Saskatchewan is the land of the living skies, but it’s also full of unpredictable and exciting weather. With our packing checklist, you’re sure to have everything you need to have a great trip!
The local timezone is Central Standard Time, Saskatchewan doesn’t follow Daylight Savings Time like all the other Canadian provinces do.
Saskatchewan is one of the sunniest places in Canada (even in the winter months) with over 2300 hours of beautiful, bright sunshine a year!
In the summer and early fall Saskatoon is warm and sunny! Bring a bathing suit to sunbathe along the river, a pair of sunnies to protect your eyes, and your favourite bottle of sunscreen.
With plenty of local shops and restaurants to explore in perfectly walkable neighbourhoods, a comfortable pair of shoes is a must.
Prepare for rain! Saskatchewan thunderstorms can be both gorgeous and sudden! A light raincoat and an umbrella should do the trick.
If you are ready for a winter wonderland, you’re in luck! A warm pair of boots and woolly base layers can help you make the most of the fall and winter weather.
Always pack mittens and a toque! A scarf or merino wool neck warmer will go a long way too.
A warm coat that has a windproof layer to protect you against that biting cold windchill.
