2019-2020

The University of New Brunswick is not just a university—it’s a community. Experience genuine Maritime friendliness on our small, beautiful campuses. Be taught in classes where the professors know who you are and care about your progress. Our students are greeted with an abundance of opportunity—hands-on research, co-op and work-study programs, studying abroad, nation-leading athletics, and countless clubs and societies. Our size is not a limitation, it’s liberating. Our focus on being the best we can has made us the home to world-leading research institutes and some of the best professors in the country. Our philosophy of education is about more than just being in class, it’s about engaging in experiences that forge your future and help you discover your true potential. At UNB, we believe everyone has potential in them and we’re here to foster you and help you grow. We work to ensure everyone feels empowered to contribute and we place an emphasis on creating a positive learning and working environment where all members of the community are respectful and respected as individuals. As Canada’s oldest English-language university, history is something else we value deeply, which is why we recognize our campuses are located on traditional Wolastoqey territory.

In Fredericton, we sit right by the Wolastoq, or St. John River, along which lived the Wolastoqiyik, the people of the beautiful and bountiful river. We know that our students are looking for more than just the traditional university degree. They’re looking for an education that prepares them for a global future and that equips them with the critical thinking, resourcefulness and creativity to harness their true potential. Education at UNB is about mentorship, collaboration and discovery. It’s about taking chances and believing in your power to create a future that matters. At UNB, we believe in your potential to make a positive difference. Above all, we believe in you. I hope to see you here soon.

H.E.A. Campbell President and Vice-Chancellor
