2020–2021

The University of New Brunswick is not just a university – it’s a community. Experience genuine Maritime friendliness on our small, beautiful campuses, where your professors know who you are and care about your progress. Our students are greeted with an abundance of opportunity: hands-on research, co-op and work-study programs, studying abroad, nation-leading athletics, and student-led clubs and societies. Our philosophy of education is about engaging in experiences that forge your future and help you discover your true potential.

We know that our students are looking for more than just the traditional university degree. They’re looking for an education that prepares them for a global future and equips them with the critical thinking, resourcefulness and creativity to harness their true potential.

Established in 1785, UNB is Canada’s oldest English-language university, but the first language spoken on this land was Wolastoqey latuwewakon and the first teachings were those of the Wolastoqiyik. Both of our campuses sit on traditional Wolastoqey territory, nearby to the Wolastoq, or St. John River, along which live the Wolastoqiyik, the people of the beautiful and bountiful river.

Above all, we believe in you. I hope to see you here soon.

Education at UNB is about mentorship, collaboration and discovery. It’s about taking chances and believing in your power to create a future that matters. At UNB, we believe in your potential to make a positive difference.

Paul Mazerolle President and Vice-Chancellor
