DINING Our traditional-style residences require students to purchase one of our convenient meal plans, which includes an all-you-care-to-eat dining concept. Residents have access to three different dining halls across campus. Do you have special dietary needs? No problem! Our helpful dining team will work with you to ensure your needs are met. One of our dining halls also has a My Kitchen area, where you can prepare your own meals if you choose. Our meal plans also include dining cash that you can use at most on-campus retail outlets, such as Tim Hortons.

Many of our events aid a variety of charitable causes, and we have raised well over $250,000 in the last five years. In the Social Media Marketing course, you learn about current marketing strategies using the Internet and social media. The Faculty of Computer Science offers Co-op programs with alternating full-time work and study terms. The sequence of study and work terms allows students to be available for related employment on a year-round basis. The length of a work term is normally 16 weeks, and students are paid at competitive rates.

I now work as a cloud computing solutions architect for a New Brunswick company, owned by the same person that hired me on my first work-term in 2008.” The Faculty’s Cooperative Education Program engages students through paid positions with employers like IBM Canada, contributing as team members on real projects to apply and extend their learning.

Unique features: Our school years program is unique in Canada for its embedded practicum. Students are in their practicum school for the first 2 weeks of the year as well as every Monday during Fall term, a 5-week block in Nov/Dec, and 3 winter Mondays leading up to an 8-week block in the spring.

Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) Provides participants with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to foster dynamic learning environments for young children. Includes 4 courses in ECE and a practicum in a K-2 setting.

Bachelor of Education for First Nations A BEd focusing on elementary education open to First Nations students who have successfully completed high school or equivalent. Unique features: This program offers students the opportunity to pursue a BEd degree within their home community or to engage in on-campus study when possible.

At Renaissance College, students are required to take part in two mentored, full-term internships. The first internship is domestic, with a focus on leadership in the workplace. The second is international and is designed as a cross-cultural learning experience. The UNB Saint John Marine Biology program provides real-world experience through an intensive 12-week immersion semester at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, located in picturesque St. Andrews, New Brunswick.

Undergraduate students in Science can work with researchers in the Natural Products Research Group to examine plants used by aboriginal people to treat illness. The purpose of this research is to find active components within the plants that could lead to new antibiotics and cancer treatments.

Marine Semester The Marine Semester, held at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, is a 12-week immersion program for 3rd and 4th year students. The program features hands-on study of marine organisms—including whales, seals, birds, algae, fish and invertebrates. The semester includes lectures, research seminars, discussions, labs, field trips and independent research projects designed to expose students to innovative marine biology research.


Our Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BScCS) program is accredited by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS). Certificate programs in Computer Science and Data Analytics—as well as a CS Minor and an IT minor—are also available.
