Support YOUR Discovery Center We will find the right thing to excite YOU!

We receive numerous notes and emails from children, parents and grandparents, teachers and administrators each year thanking Discovery Center and its staff for providing unique educational, fun and memorable experiences. What most folks don’t realize is DCS is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3), governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. It’s operation is not owned or supported by the City, County, State or a University. DCS keeps its doors open through the generosity of people and businesses like you. Our organization has two sides to the operation; on-site exhibits and programming and outreach programming in classrooms. · We provide over 50 different types of science and cultural programs to school children of all ages. · We maintain 60,000 sq. ft. containing 11 exhibit galleries and well over 200 permanent exhibits at last count. · We are serving 30 counties in southwest Missouri, 40 states and 3 countries with educational outreach programming. · We support admission scholarships for children on the Federal Free Lunch Program in order to serve all children who want to come on field trips. · We are a tourist destination. · We ignite a spark and build self esteem because there are no wrong answers at DCS, just new ways of looking at science through deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills. As we enter the last quarter of the year, we ask that you consider contributing to support life-long learning which excites and engages children of all ages, helps them understand the world around them, and provides them with a greater chance to be successful academically and throughout their lives. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is, we need your help each and every day to provide the types of learning experiences you have come to expect and deserve.
