If you want to reach the base camp of Mt. Annapurna but have a limited vacation, the 7 Days Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an ideal choice. The trip starts from Pokhara on a jeep to Siwai. Trekkers walk along the Modi River through terraced farmlands and green lush forests to reach Chhomrong. The view of the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Massifs is especially fantastic from the place. You will be ascending and walking on the uphill trail through the lush forests of rhododendron and bamboo. What are the Physical Requirements for the Trek?

The trail is classed as easy to moderate. Therefore, there are no set physical requirements. Trekkers will be walking for about 6 7 hours every day on average. There are many periodic breaks for lunch and rest. Therefore, you don’t have to walk continuously for a long period of time. The route has many long uphill, steeply inclined downhill, and flat sections. You don’t need any technical skills. Having said this, you can’t overlook the fitness level also. Prior to trekking, do some cardio exercises and build a fitness level in which you can walk continuously for 3 hours straight without rest. Avoid bad eating habits and follow healthy dietary plans.

DETAILS ITINERARY:

Day 01:From Pokhara drives past Nayapul and starts a walk to Chomrong 2,170 m – 06 hrs.

After a pleasant time at Pokhara with beautiful scenery and views of Annapurna and Machhapuchare peaks, famous Fish-Tail and withinPhewa Lakeside, morning few hour drive past Pokhara valley to reach Nayapul town and beyond to start a wonderful walk. The first-day trek heading above Modi River to nice village Jinu with a climb on stone steps to Chomrong village, a short downhill walk to the overnight stop at Chomrong village, the last permanent Gurung village and the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trekking.

Day 02: Trek to Dovan 2,630 m – 06 hrs. From Chomrong morning short downhill to Chomrong River, with uphill for an hour to Sinuwa Danda a small spot with few lodges offers views of rolling green hill and then into the dense forest to reach at Bamboo, located in a gorge of Modi River in the midst of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk on the gradual up trail to Dovan for an overnight stop, a small place within Modi River gorge.

Day 03: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 m – 06 hrs.

After overnight in Dovan morning walk on uphill, as the air gets cooler and fresher to reach into Annapurna Sanctuary, as walk leads on winding path with gentle ups to Himalaya Hotel for, near Hinko Cave located beneath of Hiunchuli peak. Walkover glacier and moraine then cross a small bridge to reach Deurali, the last lodge before Machhapuchare Base Camp, from here vegetation and tree lines disappear for alpine bushes and shrubs, as walk climbs following Modi River upstream to reach

Machhapuchare Base Camp for an overnight stop, from here onwards Annapurna Sanctuary begins.

Day 04: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4,130 m 03 hrs. With sound and pleasant stop at MBC beneath towering North Face of Machhapuchare the Fish Tail peaks as walk heads uphill into Annapurna Sanctuary and the at Base Camp, journey continues on grassy uphill reaching higher areas to Annapurna Base Camp, with stunning views of Annapurna peaks that circles the sanctuary with Annapurna I.

Day 05: Trek from Base Camp to Bamboo 2,345 m – 06 hrs

After a grand time at Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, morning walk downhill all the way to Deurali, then with few ups and downs with the gradual winding trail in the serene forest and back to the tree lines to Bamboo for the overnight stay.

Day 06: Trek to Jhinu village 1,780 m a place with Hot Spring 06 hrs.

From here short steep up to KhuldiGhar, then downhill within the forest to reach at lonely spot Sinuwa Danda, from here descend to Chomrong Khola. After the bridge climb for short while to Chomrong village for lunch, after Chomrong with another short up to reach on top of Chomrong ridge, as last day walk takes you down hill to Jhinu Danda for the overnight and final stop on high green hills of Annapurna, this village offers refreshing natural hot springs about 20 minutes downhill near the bank of Modi river.

Day 07: Trek to the road head and drive to Pokhara-04 hrs. After refreshing time and overnight inJhinulast day walk with short downhill crossing a

bridge to reach on the road head for an exciting drive to Pokhara, after a wonderful time at Annapurna Base Camp and the sanctuary.
