The National Centre for Birds of Prey is the largest collection of these wonderful birds in the North of England. A vast collection of owls, eagles, vultures, hawks, falcons and more are housed in spacious aviaries set within ancient oak woodland and rolling parkland. The Moors National Park Centre Danby, Whitby, YO21 2NB On the outskirts of the pretty moorland village of Danby, a few miles south of the A171. A great day out for the family, from outdoor adventure play, cloud watching pillars and a giant dragon to indoor climbing wall, interactive exhibits plus cafe. There's also our contemporary gallery, Inspired by... that hosts a changing programme of exhibitions, by artists who draw their inspiration from the landscape, life and colour of the North York Moors. One of the UK’s top wildlife spectacles– around half a million seabirds on towering cliffs. Puffins visit April to early August and thousands of the UK’s largest seabird, the gannet, make their home here from March to end of October. Cliff top viewing platforms (most with wheelchair access) give close-up views of the seabirds and panoramic views along the heritage coast. Inside the Seabird Centre there's information, a gift shop, food and drink. Guided walks and nature trails plus fun Discovery Backpacks for kids. RSPB Seabird Cruises sail from Bridlington from spring onwards.
