Mapping the Grid Tracing the existing mall in the site. A list of activities and events taking place in the mall is noted and mapped. The Albion cinemas appears to be the firstly formed event around which the entire mall has developed over the course of time.
The floor plan of the mall is analysed and the main axes are identified. The axes formed becomes the base for mapping the grid in the entire site. This helps in the intervention of the urban scape to be in context with its existing activities.
The river is revitalized which runs perpendicular to the finch corridor, and brings much of activities and focus along the finch. A series of overpass runs across the river at regular intervals and connects the site with the finch and across to the Stevenson road.
MicroClimate
The foodcourt in the center is reinterpreted as series of restaurants and cafe around an open courtyard. The canadian tyre is relocated from its existing position and a civic square with community building is proposed.
