The Project can be divided into two phase of concept, where the pedestal part of building is dealt with public congregation and Above pedestal is dealt with residential spaces for various users such as ballet dancers, Artist and for normal people.

FIU -DESIGN 10 / GLENDA PUENTE / SKIDROW, LA The project started with idea of stepwells in India. In ancient times, the stepwell has been used as a symbol of religious space and for public gathering. The topic could be related with the homeless people in Skidrow in terms of Mental illness. The best way to cure the severity in mind is to talk to others and to be in a pleasant place. The aim of the project is to create one such space. Gaining the core of the stepwell with gathering space and steps used as a seating for the people to talk and spend time when hey need to. With the steps only in the first floor. Rest of the top floors are given a gathering space. Each floor has its own gathering space so that the residents don’t have to come to the first floor everytime they want to talk or meet. The project also aims to bring as many as homeless people in with more number of rooms being provided.

Loggers would transport their logs to a nearby river by sliding them down roads made from greased skids. Loggers who had accompanied the load to the bottom of the road would wait there for transportation back up the hill to the logging camp. By extension, the term began to be used for places where people with no money and nothing to do gathered, becoming the generic term in English-speaking North America for a depressed street in a city.[.

The City of South Miami, Florida is located in Miami-Dade County about 7.5 miles southwest of downtown Miami. Extensive floodplain areas are located adjacent to canal systems that run through the City. The topography is essentially flat with the secondary canal system at the bottom of a very shallow valley, with elevations ranging from approximately 4 to 14 ft. The generally low elevation leaves the City’s population vulnerable to surface water flooding from both rainfall (freshwater) and storm surge (saltwater) events, expected to be made worse by the impacts of sea level and groundwater rise, which impede drainage.

The primary goal of the university’s Campus Design Principles is to reaffirm the university’s design approach to the contemporary interpretation of revival campus architecture, including massing, scale, groupings, arrangements, design features, colors, textures, and other contextual design opportunities. Equally important to the “sense of place” the character of the open spaces, passages, and outdoor “rooms” which form such a memorable campus landscape. It is the careful integration of buildings and open space which ultimately define the physical presence of a campus.

To create a waterfront by enhancing the cultural aspect of the area and also boosting tourism in Alleppey. By making place adaptable during the time of snake boat race and during the off season to enhance the tourism through houseboats and also to deal with the resoect of nature. The Nehru Trophy Boat Tri Race is a popular Vallam Kali held in the Punnamada Lake near Alappuzha, Kerala, India. Vallam Kali or Vallamkaliy literally means boat play/game, but can be translated to boat race in English. The most popular event of the race is the competition of Chundan Vallams

The viewing point can be given in the starting and the finishing point. hence these 2 placeshave to be flexible enough to have temporary structures at the time of boat race.
