Richer Fire Department News
Richer Firefighters Assist in Search
The Richer Fire dept had more than 10 members assist in the search for the missing woman in the Piney area. Our members were participating from the beginning to the end of the search. Some members spent over 12 hours a day helping in the efforts. The terrain was unforgiving and very difficult to walk through. Many people had cuts and scrapes as well as numerous insect bites. The weather was extremely hot in the bush but no one would give up knowing that there was an elderly woman in need of help. Just like civilian volunteers, no one is paid for their service, and some of our members took time off work to assist in the efforts. It was a great relief to hear the Mary Byman was found alive and is expected to make a full recovery. We would like to thank all the volunteers who helped in the efforts.

Richer Fireside Youth...
Staying the Course
Fireside Youth kicked off summer with the first wiener roast on July 12, giving leaders opportunity to reconnect with both Youth and parents. Sitting around the fire was a good time to look up at the sky and talk about how God “ordered” his creation, that the seasons continue, the flowers bloom, each in their turn, and even the bright canola fields know when to ripen. Unless something unforeseen happens, a successful harvest is guaranteed. Teaching Youth to “stay on course” without changing God’s plan for their life by careless living, will also ensure a successful life and unlike in nature, if something out of their control happens, God will help them get back on course. For more info on upcoming wiener roasts for Youth age 12-17, please email Michelle at richerfiresideyouth@gmail.com, text 204 371-8021 or call 204 424-5216.

From The Pastor’s Desk...
Value and Opportunity By Pastor Ben Funk
I hope you are having a good summer with your family and friends. Many of us have enjoyed many different activities, gone to a variety of summer fairs and camping activities. Maybe you are in the middle of a full summer of seasonal camping pleasures. Or your activity revolves around horses and cattle related to rodeo competitions. Each of us has our own individual interests that occupies our entertainment space, and thus being fulfilled. For us, it is the enjoyment of motorcycling in our wonderful region and province. We had the privilege of touring central Manitoba in the month of June. Highways we had not traveled before, like PTH 50 with its many subtle curves and small communities along it. Adventures are that way, it allows us to enjoy things out of the ordinary, see things we would not otherwise see. It brings value to us in enriching our experiences and gives us opportunity to tell stories around the campfire or fire place. Thinking of enriching our lives, we are once again looking forward to the Richer Rough Stock Rodeo August 9-11. During the time of the Rodeo we have set aside a space of time to worship God and celebrate His presence as we enjoy competition and entertainment. Sunday morning the Richer Fellowship Church will be offering a “Cowboy Worship” time on the Rodeo grounds. It will be held from 8:30 am to 9:00 am. This is an open time to worship to which you are all invited to participate. If you are unable to fit that time into your schedule, we will also meet at 10:30 am at the church, 50 Southeast Drive in Richer. May you continue to have a safe and enjoyable summer. Remember “Jesus loves you”. Hope to see you at the Rodeo.
