Jigsaw Puzzle Competition Success!
15 teams of 4 players each participated in the first ever Jigsaw Puzzle Competition hosted by the Richer Community Club at the Richer Young at Hearts Hall on Saturday. Teams ranged from families, couples and friends, with a variety of ages from youth to seniors.
Only 8 minutes separated the top three teams…
First place - Julie’s Team (Julie, Suzanne, Rachelle and Denise) - 1 hr 55 min
Second place - Piece Keepers (Guylene, Tiffany, Jen and Jor dyn) - 2 hr 2 min
Third place - Oh So Puzzled (Natalie, Danielle, Madelaine, Celeste) - 2 hr 3 min
Even though the prize spots were already won, most teams followed through to complete their puzzles to get a record of their times.
Thanks to all the participants to make this unique
event a success! And thanks to Marla’s Puzzles for coming on board to add to the excitement!
The event was able to be held thanks to some wonderful sponsors… Merck, Zoetis, Winkler Meats, Marla’s Puzzle Pantry, S Brumwell, Richer Recreation Committee, Ste Anne Tax Service, Jon’s Deck Aid & More, the Dawson Trail Dispatch and Sobeys.
All funds raised go towards the endowment fund created for the Brent Wery Memorial Fund Bursary. Team registration raised $1,500. A contribution was made from Marla’s Puzzles of $350 sharing in her puzzle sales she held during the competition. Additional cash donations from the event and sponsors raised another $426. A total of $2,246!
A big thanks to the Wery family who were “all hands on board” to pull this event together and ensure it ran smoothly, and participants had fun!
Accueil Kateri Centre Prepares Christmas Hampers
As the holiday season approaches, Accueil Kateri Centre in Ste-Anne is gearing up to provide Christmas hampers for local residents in need. The annual program offers both food and essentials to make the holidays brighter for families across the Town and RM of Ste-Anne.
The Centre welcomes both monetary and food donations from those fortunate enough to contribute. As the food bank benefits from bulk purchasing
power, financial donations can help provide even more essentials to families. Donation information is available on the Centre’s website, accueilkatericentre.ca.
For those seeking assistance, applications for the Christmas hampers are open to all residents in need within Ste-Anne. Application forms can be downloaded from the food bank’s website or picked up at Burnell’s Food Plus in Richer. Completed forms should be returned to the
drop box at the food bank, located at 132 Centrale in SteAnne, or submitted to Burnell’s Food Plus.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, December 5. Current food bank clients are automatically
registered to receive a hamper, eliminating the need for an additional application.
Recipients will be able to collect their hampers on Saturday, December 21, between 10 am and noon at the Accueil Kateri Centre. This annual initiative aims to provide comfort and support to the community, spreading warmth and kindness during the holiday season.

Dawson Trail Museum
Where has the summer gone? Looking back at our activities, the museum was busy with several celebrations, summer markets, tours, and maintenance projects with the help of our summer student worker.
Thanks to members who believe in us, and all the volunteers who gave of their time and energy to help us succeed. Without them we would not be where we are today.
Our 50/50 ticket fundraiser was sold out which guaranteed a prize of $3,000.
Congratulations to Jamie Pelletier from Lorette with the winning ticket #2514. We wish to thank everyone
who supported our fundraiser. All money raised goes towards the museum renovations.
Maintaining the Ice Just Received an Upgrade
Thanks to the efforts of S. Lenton Mowing, they were able to negotiate a deal for a newer and upgraded Zamboni to look after the park ice rinks and trails. The previous Zamboni had a good trade in value due to proper care and the decision to upgrade was to look towards the long-term maintenance of the park.
The Richer Community Club was able to pay for the Zamboni out of its Capital Projects reserve account.
