July 2019
From The Pastor’s Desk...
End Now To Begin
By Pastor Ben Funk Big life changes can always be somewhat scary for many people. June is the month when high school student graduates begin to look at big changes in their lives. (I am excited for you) They are leaving behind the one stability that they really have ever known in their lives. Now, in July they are faced with looking to the future, possibly without any idea
of what really to expect (Look at this as an adventure). Some will choose to go on to university, others will enter the workforce, yet with some apprehensiveness. They have never been here before, yet they must begin to chart their own course, and create their own destiny, and shape the next phase of their identity. This can all be met with significant anxi-
ety. Those of us who have gone through this, can, and should be of encouragement to them. May I remind you, the one thing you should always keep alive, and that is to dream. Dreams keep life full of anticipation, and healthy dreams give hope, hope of a bright future and a fulfilled life. I would like to encourage you to move forward with passion and zeal being determined to achieve your goals in life. Those who have included God in their journey, please continue to cultivate a continuing relationship in this, your next phase. Each of us has that opportunity in our own lives to include God in our life’s journey. Eternal life depends on it. Our final destiny is not this life, but the life to come. Therefore, it is a good thing to always have an awareness, it is better to be a Christ-follower than not. Now, I do realize that July is also when we begin our vacations, frequent trips to the beach, relaxing times, either at the seasonal spots or cottages. Be well, do well, have a wonderful summer. Oh, by the way, drop in at Richer Fellowship Church, 50 Southeast Dr. Love to have you.

MB LIBERALS NOMINATE ROBERT RIVARD IN DAWSON TRAIL
Former Mayor of the RM of Taché, Robert Rivard, is officially nominated as the candidate for the Manitoba Liberal Party in the constituency of Dawson Trail for the upcoming provincial election. “Manitobans deserve health care close to home and the Pallister Government is making access health care more difficult. I will fight to ensure that public health care is protected in Manitoba,” said Rivard. “We also need to properly fund our public education system to ensure our full potential is reached. Manitoba Liberals have the best plan to take the province and the great constituency of Dawson Trail on a new way forward.” Rivard has spent many years as a community leader representing the constituents of Dawson Trail. He was a school trustee in the Seine River School Division for 19 years and the Mayor of Taché from 2014-2018. “I am honoured that Robert has decided to join the Manitoba Liberal team. Robert has a history of community service and will be an amazing representative for the people of Dawson Trail,” said Dougald Lamont, Leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party.
