Elections RM of STE ANNE REEVE DEBATE! October 9 starting at 7 pm 2018
While residents in the Richer area will not be casting a ballot for their municipal councilor as Brent Wery was acclaimed as councilor for Ward 3, they will still be voting for their choice of Reeve and LUD committee members. There are four to choose from for Reeve‌ Rob Desautels, Shirley Hiebert, Don Morin and Paul Saindon. For the LUD Committee, choices are Norm Bremaud, Barb Dutiaume, Roger Godard, John Lenton and Sonya Wery. The top three in LUD votes will fill the positions on the committee. Further, School Trustee ballots will be cast during this election to fill the school board. Elections are October 24.
Richer Young at Hearts Centre
The Richer Community Club has planned a Reeve Candidate debate for 7 pm at the Young at Heart Club in Richer on October 9. While the format for the evening is still being worked on, there will be questions from the public and answers from the candidates. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the people wanting to lead our council and have a say on the direction you see the RM of Ste. Anne taking for the next four years. Everyone in the RM of Ste. Anne is invited. Refreshments will be provided.
2019 Richer Community Club Calendars
The Richer Community Club is gathering information for the 2019 community calendars. Local businesses will be listed and a different photo displayed for each month. Families have the option of listing their birthdays, anniversaries and memorials. If you want to have this information listed, please email the names as you would like them to appear on the calendar, along with the date and category (B,A, or M). For example: John Smith Feb 15, B; John and Jill Smith Sept 23, A. The information can be emailed to richercalendars@hotmail.com or phone Sarah at 204-422-6311. If you had the information listed last year you will be contacted to see if there are any changes - so no need to resend. Advertising spaces are $100 a block. The calendar is a great way for local businesses and organizations to advertise because their ad is displayed year round. Profits made through advertising will go towards improvements to our playground area in Richer Dawson Trail Park. We were able to raise enough money to purchase the BMX/Skate park this summer. We are in need of some local photos for the calendar. Photos can be from events, nature or other activities. Email your photos to richercalendars@hotmail.com with a caption describing the photo.
From The Pastor’s Desk
Life... What Is It? By Pastor Ben Funk Are you like me, wandering what happened to summer? Some of you have had a great summer traveling the country, maybe even roughing it and connecting with our wonderful natural world. This fall I have been pondering some questions, what do I do week in and week out? Why do I do what I do every week? Or even a further question, what is the meaning of life in what I do? What you and I do every week and why we do it, is it helping us to answer the third
question: What is the meaning of life? Are we even able to answer that question? It seems there is a purpose behind what we do and why we do them. Are you able to describe that purpose in the rhythm of the weekly hustle and bustle? There appears to be a rhythm to life in the natural. It springs to life in the spring on route to the beauty of blossoms then giving birth to fruit giving sustenance and health to others. I am sure many of us have had the opportunity to consume fresh produce from a garden somewhere. Now we are in a frame
of a season that reflects back to a season that was. We enjoy the beautiful multi-coloured leaves, also signifying of life that was. Again, having lived through all of that; what is the meaning of life? In short? Love God, Love
Neighbour. Life is good, life is a joy, life compliments, life empowers. Life is even better when God is in it. At Richer Fellowship we celebrate life. Come and join us Sunday mornings at 10:30 am for worship and fellowship.
