IJLBROWN EXPANDS BUSINESS WITH EU FUNDING GJS DILLON HELPS LOCAL RECRUITMENT FIRM LOCATE TO CITY HOT SPOT

With the rise of costs within the manufacturing sector, it has been crucial for businesses to look to alternative funding. Herefordshire furniture maker ijlbrown acquired financial support to improve efficiency in the on-site workshop with a new Speed Sander. This funding was provided for through the Business Growth Programme, hosted by the European Union Regional Development Fund and Birmingham City Council. The new sander machine is much more efficient and has allowed the team to reduce the number of processes and processing time in production. The machine is much wider, meaning that the team can sand an entire tabletop through in one go, rather than putting the tabletop through in two halves. The sander also offers the function of sanding veneered tops, which the team was not able to do previously. Through the access of this alternative funding, ijlbrown can expand their business exponentially. A well-known recruitment firm has relocated to prominent self-contained offices in central Worcester with the support of Worcestershire-based commercial property consultancy and Chartered Surveyors GJS Dillon. Hewett Recruitment is now based at The Avenue which is situated in the heart of Worcester city centre, close to both Worcester Foregate Street and Worcester bus station. The accommodation, which measures 803 sq ft, consists of open plan offices, a board room and meeting room and is part of a popular commercial development. Acting on behalf of the client, Andrew Lewis, GJS Dillon’s Director of Commercial Agency negotiated the 18 month lease. Mr Lewis said ‘Worcester remains an attractive business location and unlike other cities, it has retained a strong community atmosphere. The City centre has proved popular with companies wishing to maintain a high street presence at a time when it has been more difficult to get in front of people’ Ben Mannion, Director at Hewett Recruitment said ‘The Avenue is perfect for our needs in that we have sufficient offices for staff and can make the meeting space available to our clients. Our central location makes commuting easier for everyone and we enjoy being part of the City’s business community. We’d like to thank GJS Dillon for their negotiations and support with the move’ GJS Dillon has been instructed to let additional office accommodation in the same building. The 365 sq ft open plan office has a further meeting room located off the main office space.
