The Kitchen Sink V5I10

Happy July Friends!

Is it hot enough for ya? Let me tell you, this heat has everyone miserable. I have to say something only those close to me know. I am chronically ill and heat is a big trigger for me. Now that we are looking at 100+ days there is not much outside time for me. I take this opportunity to work on back-to-school for my kids. It’s the perfect time to go through clothes and donate. I found this great place in Yale, Blessed & Dressed Free Closet (301 W. Broadway Ave, Yale, OK) They take Children and Adult’s gently worn clothing and anyone can visit and get whatever they need for FREE. I love that, and it means I can go through everyone’s clothing at once. It’s a real-time saver. As I purge their clothes, I like to make a list of what clothing each kid needs for school, put it in my purse, or note on my phone with sizes so when I am out and spot a sale, I don’t miss a deal.

Have you heard of Zep Cleaners? In my deep cleaning of my youngest room, I have been cleaning his walls. I can’t roll my eyes enough; little boys are so gross! Normally I use Pine Glo, but it wasn’t cutting this mess. I picked up Zep Foaming wall cleaner. Oh, My Lanta talk about easy! I sprayed and let that foam work its magic. I wiped away all the gross. I still wiped it down with my Pine Glo after to be sure it was sanitized. I promptly went around the house and tried it all over the place, the grime on the doors gone! No elbow grease! I will be trying more Zep Cleaners in the future.

With this heat, I set up a little water station for my family. I want to encourage the kids to drink water. If it’s flavored, so what. It is still water right? I have a Kitchen Cart my husband set up a water cooler in, then an ice maker on the cart. Both my kids have Stanley dupes, I leave them on the cart with a container of flavor packets for their daily water. You can set up your own water station too. All you need is a little counter space and flavor packets, Liquid IV, and you have endless possibilities.  Anything that helps keep us hydrated right now is Awesome!

My youngest’s Birthday is on Monday! Happy Birthday Spencer!!! What do you do when it is too hot

for an outside Birthday for little boys? My Son requested a Fallout Birthday Party. Which if you have played the game or watched the show it’s a post-nuclear world. I have been researching and we are going to let the kids build their own “Vault” Pillow fort. Then I have “nuk-acola” labels for glass bottled Coke and Fallout-themed snacks. I also plan on a little bit of outside running with water guns because slightly tired kids are easier to manage, and it fits the theme. Anytime you are having a themed party, it is always nice to look at Google and Pinterest to see what others have done. I love to find any free printables that will help customize the party, signs, labels, and cute tags for gift bags, the possibilities are endless. Everyone always thinks it takes so much more time but with proper planning, it takes no time at all, and it makes the kids feel special that everything is custom for them, and isn’t that what Birthdays are really about?

Just Scan the QR Code and send me an email (you can remain anonymous) and I will share Tips in the following article to help you tackle that dirt and grime with no shame, we are all doing our best. Remember to Drink your water and be kind to yourself it’s HOT friends.
