What would you like homeowners to know about you as an individual? That I will go above and beyond to assist them with potentially buying a new home or selling their current one. I really make everyone’s goals my own and am not happy until they are. I work as hard as I can to find my clients great opportunities before competitors and work to get them the best deal possible. In a market where speed wins, I am constantly working day and night until my clients’ dream homes are found, and continuing to improve in my services each day.

Favorite Hobby

Where is your favorite place to escape in the District? I love the waterfront and new district wharf area. I used to go to the old Phillips restaurant that was here with my family and have a lot of happy memories eating seafood by the water. Nowadays grabbing a beer with friends to a nice sunset, oysters at Hanks Oyster Bar, performances at the Anthem or getting crabs / seafood at Captain White’s for prices you can’t find elsewhere are my usual go-tos. Can’t go wrong at the wharf!

Favorite Escape in DC

What is your favorite spot in the DC area? I’m obsessed with Chaplin’s restaurant. Great happy hour, great food, and a great location in Shaw. All around this place has a very good atmosphere and it’s right down the street from Dacha Beer Garden and Compass Coffee. Some of my favorite homes I’ve sold are in this area and I am currently under contract on a condo for myself not too far away at Chapman Stables.

What is your favorite restaurant, bar, and/or coffee shop in the DC area? My favorite restaurant would have to be Compass Rose. They offer delicious food from all around the world (somewhat similar to my other favorite Barcelona Tapas Lounge). My favorite bar is certainly the bar I own and co-manage with my family, 1831 Bar & Lounge on M Street. We are ranked #1 for the best happy hour in DC by Yelp! Our prices are pretty difficult to compete with and the atmosphere stems from a combination of our backgrounds. Favorite coffee shop by far is Big Bear Cafe in Bloomingdale. Hip place with delicious food and great coffee that also offers outdoor seating and free wifi.

What are your hobbies and/or passions? I love playing soccer, traveling, and hanging with friends & family. I played soccer competitively for most of my life and got to travel all over the world growing up, with my teams and with my family.

I love coastal designs with shiplap, exposed brick and large full wall windows if possible.

I love how it continues to surprise me even after living here a long time. I have lots of strong relationships and family in the area and love spending time with those closest to me.

Thailand had to be the most incredible trip of my life, but when I need to get away I fly to Miami which is my second home.

What would you like homeowners to know about you as an individual? I am passionate about creating outdoor spaces that my clients will enjoy for years to come, and most importantly, translating their outdoor space into a three-dimensional reality. I always keep an eye out on how to advise my clients on how they can reduce their impact on the environment.

Where is your favorite place to escape in the District? Anywhere with nature. The parks, C&O canal, the monuments, Cross County Trail, etc. What is your favorite spot in the DMV area? Right now I live in Reston, but my projects take me all over the DMV. Reston is a pretty central location for me. After a long day of driving around the DMV, I love to just be able to walk with my dog in an urban setting like Reston Town Center or to walk on the trails of Reston. What are your hobbies and/or passions? I love exploring undeveloped land in Fairfax County. For example, I love walking the Cross County Trail and spending time with nature. It’s very quiet and peaceful and you hardly see a soul out there. What book are you currently reading? The Power of Vulnerability by Dr. Brené Brown. What is your favorite home design trend? What is your favorite outdoor landscape trend? Bringing indoor and outdoor environments together through architecture and interior design allows you to get back to nature. You can enjoy the comforts of the interior, but it also allows you to enjoy the dynamics of nature. What do you love about outdoor home design for the summer? Creating outdoor entertaining spaces and outdoor rooms that extend the livable foot print of your residence, with an eye to low impact on the environment. What do you love most about the DMV area? The diversity of architecture and style. The area is transient

and it brings new and fresh ideas to design and architecture from outside of the DMV. What is the most important piece of a home? Your view to the outdoors. Merging your interior and exterior senses of place brings inner and exterior peace to your sanctuary. How does your aesthetic fit in with DC style? Having grown up in McLean, I believe the DC area offers a wide range of aesthetics in interior and exterior architectural style. What would you like homeowners to know about you as an individual? I am a very homey person and I enjoy being at home. It reflects exactly who I am, how I live, how I feel, share, and enjoy my life in it - that is exactly what I want my clients to have. In the end, they are the ones waking up every morning in a space that if it’s not a reflection of who they are, they will feel like they are staying in a beautiful hotel. That’s not our mission...unless that is exactly what you want the feeling to be! Where is your favorite place to escape in the District? Home! I turn off my cell, take my shoes off, and put on some music with a glass of wine. What are your hobbies and/or passions? Travel! My husband, my kids, and I just came back from Kilimanjaro, which was one of my big-time bucket list items. We all summited and it was one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences that I have had in my life.

What book are you currently reading? I’m obsessed with murder mysteries. I recently read The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, and now I am reading her second book, Into the Water. What a great summer read! What is your favorite vacation destination? So many! We don’t have a specific spot now, but we used to vacation in Sardegna with our kids for 8 years in a row - a whole month on the island was bliss. I went to the Maldives and I think that if there is a real paradise, it would look like that. I also just came back from Tanzania and fell in love with it. I think our next trip will be Patagonia...as I said before, adventure + beauty + easy luxe = perfection. Nowadays I just like to discover new places. The world is way too big - there are too many places to explore and too little time to explore them. It’s a real problem! How does your design fit in with the Georgetown area? To be honest, sometimes it doesn’t fit, but as a true Capricorn

I personally love adventure, beauty, nature, and very relaxed luxury. When I can combine all those, the result is perfection.
