Introduction Diving Medicine Summer School is a mixed sportive, medical and adventurous program through

participants

become

certified PADI Open Water divers and get indulged in the educative experience of diving medicine. The program is intended for all international students (of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, paramedical or nursing school) who have a passion for exploring the unknown.

Whether this would be the underwater life through diving or the interesting, relatively new topic of diving medicine. All in the beautiful atmosphere of the lovely city of Dahab. The program provides an ideal summer

PADI Open Water Diver The PADI Open Water Course is the most popular diving course in the world. It is the first leap into the world of diving and the lifestyle it has to offer. The course will enable you to dive into a depth of 18m and basically do everything that comes to your mind down there. Learning to dive is incredible, it is a new dimension, a new ability.

Program outline: 5 Confined Water Sessions (Skills learning how to use equipment & get comfortable underwater) 4 Open Water Dives (18 meters maximum depth in different diving sites to master diving at your own pace) 5 Sections of PADI DVD Videos (featuring skills to be watched and discussed with the instructors) 5 Chapters of Open Water manual (Knowledge reviews, quizzes and final exam)

PADI Advanced Water Diver The PADI Advanced Open Water Course requires participants to already be Open Water or CMAS (1star) certified. This course is a great deal. You get to further improve your underwater flexibility, buoyancy and movement while exploring the true breath-taking underwater scenes in Dahab. It enables you to dive up to 30m and dive from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two obligatory dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and three of your choice (Drift, buoyancy control, naturalist, Night dive, exploring wrecks and many more), for a total of five dives. The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have.

Diving Medicine Course A very unique topic attracting the attention of many scientists and researchers; where there is much to yet be discovered. We witnessed an expansion of the diving sport; which inspired the medical community to further understand it's effects and develop Scuba Diving guidelines and precautions. Educational programs supported by several well developed training organizations have made the sport safer. The Diving Medicine Course entails specific topics essential for every healthcare specialist to understand. The course will include a mix of lectures by diving medicine specialists and a field visit to the diver's treatment centre in Dahab.

Program outline: Hazardous marine life and common diving injuries and how to deal with it.

Decompression sickness nitrogen narcosis, nitrogen embolism and other applied medical topics.

Visit to the Hyperbaric Medical Centre and decompression chamber in Dahab.

Basic life support for divers.

The diving medicine course is supervised by Divers Alert Network (DAN) Regional Director and diving medicine specialists.

Arrival & Welcome Ceremony Whether you arrive in Sharm El Shiekh or Cairo, we will arrange for your transportation to Dahab, where we will hold a Welcoming ceremony to orient you around the city, the instructors, and the program.

Suit Up & dive in the adventure For beginners, the program will starts with learning confined water skills and knowledge; which you practice during the open water dives. While for the Advanced course & certified advanced divers, you do a skills and knowledge refreshment dive.

Get comfortable with diving The Diving Medicine course alongside diving in diverse locations is a perfect mix to advance your diving skills and provide a multitude of different underwater experiences.

Experience the marine life Getting started with the Diving Medicine course along side getting more experience in diving in other location is a perfect mix to make you get more comfortable with diving and more experienced in it as well

Canyon & Blue Hole adventure Experience the world class dive sites and amazing coral and marine life, all the while living and adventuring between the mountains and the crystal sea water.

Master the diving & enjoy the city On the last day of the diving learning process, you will feel completely comfortable with diving and will have a great deal of knowledge about Dahab and the red sea dive spots.

Set Sail & explore the vast sea To carry on another adventure, we will set sail and head to one of the famous red sea marine national parks, spending a day with untamed nature, amazing scenery, and great company.

Farewell & departure On the final day of our program, we will close out this great week with your certificates of completion and prepare for your check out. We hope you will leave with amazing memories of all the fun times we had.

DIVING MEDICINE (3rd to 10th of August)

Program fees:

Conditions of the program: ● Applicants are accepted based on fulfillment of the application requirements and is subject to availability ● Both the submitted application and paid fees are essential for registration ● Certificates will be handed out only to students who attend all days of the program ● Participants are expected to comply with the rules and regulations set by the instructors and diving center.

Regarding Fees: ● Refunds are subject to the cancellation policy, please take a moment to look over it ● Fees mentioned do not include the Bank transfer or currency exchange fees.

Application requirements ● Completed online application by the registration deadlines ● Payment processed prior to deadline (you will receive an email regarding the transfer as soon as we are done processing your online application) ● Acceptable command of English language for adequate communication ● Proof of enrollment / work ID ● A digitally scanned copy of your passport ● Copy of your flight ticket before the 15th of July ● If you are already Open water or CMAS certi‐ fied, we will need a scanned copy of your certification/card

Cancellation Policy ● Before the 1st of May, full amount will be refunded upon cancellation minus the transfer costs. Transfer costs to us and back are not refunded ● Cancellation between 1st of May & 30th of June, 50% of the registration fees will be refunded, after deducting the transfer fees ● After the 30th of June: No refund will be provided.
