Children: Their Future, Our Focus
HELLO FROM YOUR Chao Division 28! My name is Cyssi Ngo and I am proud to be serving as your new Lieutenant Governor for the 2015-2016! I currently am a junior at International School in Bellevue. Starting off in KEY Club my freshmen year at Interlake, I never imagined myself taking on such a big responsibility. But at the same time, I don’t think I’ve ever found something from high school that made such a colossal impact on my life. So now, I’ve made it my goal to provide both a year full of service and fun for you guys! Being one of the larger divisions in the district, I personally see this as an advantage because that just means more connections and friendships waiting to be made. I want to be able to work with any member because ultimately you guys are going to be the best resource for improving our division. That being said, if any of you guys have questions or comments feel free to message me at any time! And on the same note, please don’t be hesitant to call me out. I’m only here because this division trusted me to hold this responsibility and the last thing I want to do is let you guys down. Here’s to a great year ahead for Division 28 ! Love, Cyssi Ngo Lieutenant Governor of Division 28

WELCOME YOUR NEW DIV DIVISIONAL SECRETARY
Hello D28! My name is Andes (but you can call me Andy) and I am really excited to be your Divisional Secretary! I’m currently attending Bellevue High School as a sophomore after I transferred from Issaquah High. When I first heard about Key Club, I thought they said tea club… So, I joined Key Club thinking I was going to make some delicious brew, and I was shocked about how much enthusiasm people had! (I figured out later) I couldn’t imagine how much energy Key Clubbers had to volunteer. I thought to myself, I need to join this crew. When I’m not volunteering, you can easily find me at any bubble tea café. I am incredibly excited to serve D28 as Secretary and to work with all the amazing individuals that share my passion for service! All the best, your Sexytary, Andes Lee
VISIONAL OFFICERS DIVISIONAL PUBLIC RELATIONS
Hey Division 28, HOW DO YOU FEEL? I for one am absolutely stoked be serving as your incoming Public Relations Officer! My name is Jacque Li (commonly referred to as Qui) and I'm a current junior at Mercer Island High School. I cannot wait to get to know every single one of you so be sure to come up and say hi if you ever see me around. Outside of Key Club, I frequent the pool as a swimmer and water polo player but my shameless loves will always be food, math, and TV/movies, so don't be surprised if you ever encounter me simultaneously eating Thai food and watching Netflix, possibly even while at the pool. Nonetheless, I'm unbelievably excited for the upcoming year, and I hope you guys are too! Much love to you all, Jacque Li

KEY CLUB 101
In the midst of serene nature and fluctuating weather conditions lies the great Pacific Northwest District (PNW). The Pacific Northwest is geographically the largest district of Key Club International. The district spans from western Canada to northern California; with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and the pan-handle of Idaho in between. The Pacific Northwest encompasses nearly 1.8 million square miles and includes over 300 clubs that operate under 44 divisions. Through rain or shine, snow or hail, Key Clubbers in the PNW dedicate countless hours to their communities and international, and we are always Proud ‘N’ Willing to serve!
• 1 baby dies every 11 minutes • $1.80 is enough to save a mother and her future babies • 160 babies die from MNT each day • A series of three shots of vaccine = immunity to tetanus
PREFERRED CHARITIES Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital
March of Dimes
For decades, Key Club has partnered with the March of Dimes to give every baby a healthy start. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change, holding dances and taking part in March of Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies.
UNICEF
Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it’s helping The Eliminate Project.
OFFICER OF THE MONTH JULIA CHEN
Vice-President of Interlake High School Not only has Julia been incredibly helpful with helping the new officers adjust to their roles, but she has gone above and beyond in finding new service events for the club. She has coordinated with other clubs, made some essential contacts, and done independent research as well. She really deserves to be Officer of the Month because she has been the heart and soul of Key Club this month, especially because not only did she find amazing service events for all the members, but she also attended them and demonstrated that she is all about service, not just someone who says they are all about service!
MEMBER OF THE MONTH JONAH TANG
Member of Mercer Island High School Jonah Tang, a sophomore, has been an avid member and volunteer at Key Club. This month he helped especially at DCON with obtaining the club materials and distributing them to the members as well as helping our club advisor with check-in needs. Although not an officer, he shows leadership in the club and contributes ideas to the officer board.
