Children: Their Future, Our Focus

Hello Division 28 Key Clubbers, It’s the last month of the year and I can certainly feel the holidays approaching! Although the weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter, never forget that there are always those in our community who need our service and aid, no matter the time of year. Now, as you may know DCON is coming up quickly. Although it’s a little less than 100 days away, it’s very important to get on top of registration right away! Officers, try to nail down who is going and finalize your price and members, be sure to let your officers know that you want to go as soon as possible! Another divisional event coming up is the December DCM on December 11th from 6-8 pm at the Issaquah High School library. If you wish to participate in the white elephant exchange, please be sure to bring a gift! In Love and Service, Adam Newton Lieutenant Governor of Division 28

In the midst of serene nature and fluctuating weather conditions lies the great Pacific Northwest District (PNW).The Pacific Northwest is geographically the largest district of Key Club International. The district spans from western Canada to northern California: with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and the pan-handle of Idaho in between. The Pacific Northwest encompasses nearly 1.8 million square miles and includes over 300 clubs that operate under 45 divisions. Through rain or shine, snow or hail, Key Clubbers in the Pacific Northwest dedicate countless hours to their communities and internationally, and are always Proud 'N' Willing to serve!

UNICEF Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-orTreating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it’s helping the Eliminate Project.

MARCH OF DIMES For decades, Key Club has partnered with the March of Dimes to give every baby a healthy start. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change, holding dances, and taking part in March of Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies. CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital.

DIVISION 28 AT A GLANCE Division 28 serves the Bellevue, Issaquah, Mercer Island, and Snoqualmie areas. It contains 10 schools, including Mercer Island, Newport, Bellevue, Sammamish, Interlake, International, Issaquah, Skyline, Liberty, and Mount Si. Division 28 is one of the largest and most committed divisions in the district, and had the highest divisional attendance at DCON 2015.
