DNE Welcome Welcome DNE

Happy February Kiwis! As we enter February, let's take a moment to reflect on the progress we've made so far this school year. Whether it's academic achievements, personal growth, or overcoming challenges, let's take this month to acknowledge everything we’ve achieved so far. Although February may be the month of love and affection, don't be too hard on yourself for not having anyone. Instead, turn your focus to loving yourself unconditionally. Spend that time treating yourself to ice cream, chocolates, and food. It’s important to take a break from work and relax, no matter how big or small it may be. You deserve to treat yourself with love and respect. Best Regards, Nicole Chu, your lovely DNE

Articles an MLK March Lina Nguyen, Skyline On January 15th, Skyline Key Club attended the Reclaim MLK”s Radical Legacy march led by the Anti-Police Terror Project! It was Martin Luther King Day, so it was a great opportunity to show up for the town and our community as a whole. There were over 1,000 people who attended the march in Downtown Oakland in unity with the Palestinian community, homeless folks in Oakland, and those who wish to defund the Oakland Police Department. To conclude, it was a day to show up and help our community stand up for their needs.

nd Visuals Chalk Walk Renee Ng, El Cerrito

Our monthly chalk walk was the perfect start to the new year! It was great to see new and old faces alike, and a wonderfully sunny day between all the rain lately. Members had a lot of fun drawing out themed messages for the new year to the kids and recapped their winter break together. We’re excited to continue our chalk walks this spring, and can’t wait to for the next one!

February SOSP:

What is The Thirst Project? They are a non-profit organization whose aim is to bring safe drinking water to communities around the world where it is not immediately available.

What is SOSP? Spotlight on Service Program is intended to promote international and district initiatives as well as encourage active participation with organizations/initiatives.

The Thirst Project

Service Idea 1 - Water Bottle Drive: Hold a water bottle drive where people can donate water bottles that you then donate to a homeless shelter or other organization of your choosing!

Service Idea 2 - Flyers: Create flyers informing people on how to be less wasteful with the water that they have and ways that they can save it instead! Also highlight the importance of saving water especially in this day and age.
