MESSAGES FROM...

Peacocks, This is the last newsletter that I will be designing for Key Club!

HONOR NGUYEN division news editor

I've

been

and

it's

having

been

an

so

much

honor

fun

being

the division news editor for this term (haha get it). Being apart of the Division Leadership Team is an experience that I will not forget.

The theme for the newsletter is neutral colored and a sprinkle of characters from the comic 'Peanuts' by Charles Schulz. I remember waiting every week to read

the

Sunday

comics,

so

I

centered

this

last

newsletter to be more nostalgic. Which is also why the playlist for this month is also Disney themed! Although I am sad to say goodbye to Key Club and making newsletters, I am excited for the future of the club and it's future for volunteering!

Hello Everyone, I

can’t

believe

that

this

is

already

the

last

newsletter! I am eternally grateful to have served as your Lieutenant Governor for this term. I was only in Key Club for a year before I decided to run for Lieutenant Governor. Even with my inexperience I hope I was able to serve you all well and allow this division to reach new heights.

Even

through

term,

many

tremendously able

to

have

this

difficult

clubs

grew

and

being

worked

with

people dedicated to helping others

has

been

an

honor!

Let’s end off this term strong as a great start for the next term!

KATHLEEN NGUYEN lieutenant governor

2020-2021 term this year, our division worked towards these goals:

total service hours Service not only exemplifies selflessness, but it also allows you to grow both personally and professionally. By taking a few hours out of your day to volunteer, you are effectively spreading positivity and making an impact within your community even if you do a small part. Additionally, volunteering gives you the opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself and also allows you strengthen your leadership, time management and your communication skills.

paid dues members Making sure that you have paid your dues each year is important since it ensures that the hours that you have accumulated each term is transferred and given to you. It also allows you to participate in elections by running for a position or simply just voting. Ultimately, these these dues go towards the club, the CNH District, Key Club International, and charity.

for what is ptp? Since this is the last newsletter of the term, this will be my last time explaining what ptp is! So, if you haven't been reading these... now is a good time to start!

raised for ptp By donating, PTP is able to improve the outcomes for children who experience pediatric trauma by providing grants to partner hospitals, which enable them to reach out to their communities with educational materials, safety equipment and information on childhood trauma prevention.

PTP stands for the Pediatric Trauma program. Pediatric trauma remains the leading cause of death and injury among children ages 14 and under in the United States. The mission of the program is to develop local projects which will reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma, ensuring all children live happy, healthy and safe lives. So basically, donations raised from club and division fundraisers are used to help fund hospitals and medical equipment to further help those in need.

We know this year has been financially hard to most, so we appreciate everyone who spent time and money into our fundraiser events!

march RECAP 03/20

march dcm

Every month, Key Club divisions hold a division council meeting. Meetings provide clubs a place to give monthly club reports and refresh on Key Club goals and projects! Last month's meeting was the last DCM of the term which was held on March 20th at 1:00pm on Google Meets. During the meeting, we went over regular procedure, but members were also able to win a Peacock Squishmallow through a Kahoot game! The Kahoot game was held to help fundraise for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Thank you to everyone who attended the last DCM of the term!

03/28

d31 conclave

On Sunday, March 28th at 1:00pm, we held our conclave for a new lieutenant governor for the next term. Each of the high schools in our division gathered representatives to vote for the next governor. Electing an LTG each term is important as they are the face of the division, managing

08

events, supporting and growing the club.

03/22 - 03/28

march service week

With the term coming to an end, we held a week long service event for members to both help the community and earn hours. This was our second service of the term. This service week started on Monday, March 22 and ended on Friday March, 28. Throughout the week, members wrote letters to teachers, played games, and even searched things randomly on Bing! Even with these events, our Key Clubbers were able to help the community/ environment! Thank you to everyone who participated.

Throughout the term we also had virtual and online projects and events to make up for the in-person meetings. These events included SanrioTC, MarvelTC, Halloween Social, Sign Language Project and many more. Even with the change of structure this term, we appreciate all the members for being here!

Hey Everyone, There are so many positive things I want to say about my experience as a member of the DLT during this term, but no amount of words can describe how impactful the experience have been. Because of the pandemic, ths term was no ordinary term, but we as a division have accomplished so much in terms of service hours and staying motivated even

CLAIRE TRAN executive assistant

when things were slow. I definitely made new friends this term, gained new leadership skills, and found myself more connected to Key Club. I want to thank Kathleen for being such an amazing LTG during a rough year, my DLT for making my experience as an EA filled with laughter and memories, and the officers who diligently cooperated throughout the term!

Peacocks! We had a complicated year. But we had many officers who rose to the occasion and worked with the division to make it a great year. Hopefully next year we will be able to accomplish more together for the division. We still have some great events to do and attend to. I enjoyed being one of the EAs this year. Thank you!

FAITH BULONE executive assistant

Hello! I just want to start off with how much I enjoyed working within the Division Leadership Team as well as being able to communicate with clubs. I came into this position having no idea what to expect and came out with memorable moments and leadership skills. I enjoyed

BRENDA DOAN

spirit coordinator

having the opportunity to interact with everyone at DCMs and that will be missed greatly. It was a great year serving as Division 31's spirit coordinator!

Hey Peacocks, The experience of working with this DLT team has been a great opprotunity to grow as a key club member and establish connections with others. Taking the role of Spirit Coordinator is amazing and allows me to express myself to the fullest! I have taken in every moment and I admire our growth from the start. This was truly an amzing time and I hope you all stay safe and healthy!
