HOW HOW TO TO HAVE HAVE A A SUCCESSFUL SUCCESSFUL CLUB CLUB MEETING! MEETING!
DO’s
❖ Keep the members you serve engaged! Ask questions, do icebreakers, or play games. ❖ Remember to do the Key Club pledge. ❖ Evenly distribute speaking time amongst the officers. ❖ Make Google Slides or Prezis with the information and present with them!
DON’Ts ❖ Have some members sitting in the far back if there is space up front. ❖ Just present the events then leave. ❖ Be unenthusiastic or unengaged (this goes for officers and members!) ❖ Speak quietly. Remember to project and enunciate.
❖ Should you focus more on increasing or retaining membership? ❖ Quality vs Quantity of service events ❖ Is division information (such as the Newsletter!) being passed to the members you serve? ❖ What is your school’s current impression of Key Club? ❖ How are officers and members able to promote Key Club on campus and on social media? Lt. Governor Vivi can also help answer some of these important questions in a conversation about club health!
Things Things To To Consider Consider Before Before Starting Starting The The New New Year! Year!
Pros Pros of of Interclub Interclub Events Events and and How How to to Have Have One One
Interclub events are joint events with other branches of the Kiwanis family such as Circle K, Aktion Club, K-Kids, or Kiwanis themselves! These events are a fantastic way for members to become educated on the other branches of Kiwanis and get connected to other members of the Kiwanis Family who aren’t just high schoolers! Here’s how to get started: ● Reach out to your sponsoring Kiwanis! Attend a Kiwanis meeting or DCM and find out if they need Key Clubbers at any upcoming events. ● Ask your Kiwanis advisor if there are any K-Kids or Builders Clubs in your area! Never be afraid to reach out, interclub events are one of the many reasons why it’s so wonderful to be part of the Kiwanis Family.
Thank You for Reading, Peacocks! I’ll see you next month, and I hope you have a fabulous July! -Vivi Nguyen
