Message Message from from DNE, DNE, Kaylah Kaylah Nguyen Nguyen Hey Peacocks! How’s school been? Tiring on my side. I don’t even know where to start, it’s just too stressful. On the bright side, we are nearing the end of the first half of this school year. As every month has its own holiday, November is the month of Thanksgiving. Although this is a little early, I just want to say that I am thankful to my fellow key clubbers who have been there to make my life more enjoyable and my friends/family who are providing me with advices and aid me through these stressful times. Once again, I am grateful to everyone I am able to meet and know.

At La Mesa's Annual Bike Rodeo event, fellow Key Clubbers and I guided community members through a bike path with obstacles. Event attendees were given bike safety pamphlets along with the opportunity to ride their bike on a fun obstacle course provided by the city of La Mesa. Volunteers helped with the obstacle course and helped monitor booths that oered coloring books, snacks, and other fun items. -Division Media Coordinator, Jaeda Drew

On Wednesday, November 6, Monte Vista Key Club partnered with March of Dimes to make NICU comfort bags for parents of premature babies. There are 500 NICU beds in San Diego County, so we were asked to make 25 out of 500 comfort bags to give to the parents of each baby on World Prematurity Day, November 17th. We supplied the materials: snacks, hand sanitizer, tissues, chap-stick, lotion, and other helpful items as well as a thoughtful note to let them know they're being thought of. Many of our members stayed after our general meeting and decided to participate, assembling 25 bags in support of promoting healthy babies and healthy mommies. Our eorts were geared to provide relief for these future mothers and their babies, knowing they are loved and not alone in this process. -Secretary of Monte Vista Key Club, Julie Milan
