ROSE FLOAT EVENT "A once in a lifetime opportunity in decorating the Rose Float"

Helix Key Club By: K r istina L au ROSE FLOAT EVENT

The Rose Float Trip which happened Monday, December 28th, the event overall was super fun. I was one of the people who cut the flowers and put them into a little vial of water, and then stuck it into a Styrofoam block. My little assembly line of friends managed to cut about 1,320 flowers in the time we spent there. This time allowed us to bond, make jokes, and just have a ton of fun with each other. However, we were definitely FREEZING out there. Gloves and an extra pair of socks were a really good idea, so I'm very glad that I brought them. All of us, complaining about the cold was totally something that we could all bond over. Although we were freezing, it's nice to know that something we took the time to do is going to be on a beautiful display on TV. The flowers definitely make the floats stand out. I am really looking forward to going to this event next year and I will most definitely recommend this event to other members as well. Thank you for reading! 2

GROSSMONT ACTIVITIES Grossmont Key Club By: K athleen Ban-eg Grossmont High School?s Key Club has had a busy December in 2015. We assisted the banquet for the soccer players of the Yalla youth organization in El Cajon. We then helped with the yearly Children?s Christmas party held at Patrick Henry High School. Our members had a wonderful time serving breakfast, applying fake tattoos, and helping the children pick out presents. The next day, we teamed up with ADOPT-A-BEACH to clean up Mission Beach to improve the community?s environment. Our club also then volunteered at the Golden Hall in downtown San Diego for the Holiday Magic event setting up and handing out presents to families. Lastly, our club with other fellow Key clubs volunteered assisting and decorating the Rose Bowl floats at Pasadena where it was an awe-struck event for our members who have attended it for the first time and a great fun and fulfilling experience for the ones who have been to it last year and/ or year before. 4
