A Message From Your Lieutenant Governor
Jasia Nicolas Page 4
Aloha Tigers! I hope AP Testing went well for all of you! Keep pushing on through to finals, I BEE-lieve in you! Thank you to all the members who have been attending service events, fundraising, and staying updated on what goes on within our Division! Be sure to thank your officers for all they do, they’ve been working hard too! Summer is quickly approaching. I hope you all have funfilled plans for the upcoming months. Don’t forget though, just because we aren’t in school doesn’t mean you can’t serve your home, school, and community! Reach out to your officers regarding service project opportunities to stay involved during these hot months. Sadly, I will not be in the area for a majority of the summer. In case you cannot reach me quickly, please talk to your Division Leadership Team or club officers with any questions you have! I hope to return from this summer hearing all the great things you have all accomplished!!! Don’t let me down Tigers ♡ - Lt. Governor Jasia Nicolas

Red Cross Shooter Training By Ashley Koenig Seaside President

For the month of April, Seaside High Key Club assisted the Red Cross in suppling volunteer actors for a county wide active shooter training. Volunteers were staged as wounded, deceased, and bystanders as a mock active shooter roamed the halls of an office building in Fort Ord. This was the largest training the Monterey county has ever conducted as fire, police and first responders were all involved. Our key clubbers were given a unique experience to participate in this controlled scenario and everyone left showing a much larger respect for the victims and families of recent mass shootings.

I went to the Key Club ran Skate Night, at Water City. It was a very fun time. The decorations were very nice, simplistic, yet enough to set the mood. The DJ was good as well, playing a nice range of music. The food was good, and I think the deal for 3 bucks and unlimited food was a great deal. I would definitely go to another Key Club endorsed and ran dance. Page 7

This April, our club organized teams and participated in a community event, and elected new officers for the 2016-2017 term. On April 23rd, our Key Club participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County's Bowl for Kids' Sake. We raised more than $250 in pledges and all of our profits went to our local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Additionally, we were given an award of recognition for youth involvement in our community and gifted a pizza party at a local restaurant. Currently, we are looking forward to celebrating our accomplishments with other community members and beginning to plan our events for the next school year.Â
