Farewell From Your Lt.G. There’s a Winnie the Pooh quote that I love: “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” As my term comes to an end, I’ve been thinking a lot and reflecting on this past year. I have nothing to say but thank you. Working with/getting to know you guys and seeing your clubs grow has been everything. Truly, this year has been one of the most influential and memorable years of my life thus far. I learned a lot from you and developed a lot personally, and I hope that you can say the same for yourself. It seems like just yesterday I was writing my first “Greetings from Your Lt.G.” letter. It seems like just yesterday when I held my first DCM. It seems like just yesterday I talked to your club presidents for the first time. Now, we’ve come full circle. Here is my last newsletter. We’ve had another DCM together. Our last President’s call took place earlier this week. When I walk across that DCON stage towards my retirement, I may cry a bit, but they’ll be happy tears. Tears that show how much I love this division, this organization, and everyone that is a part of it. Even though I am leaving this role, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me just to chat. Thank you so much for everything. Truly, I am lucky indeed. For the last time, In Love and Service,

Jane Tang Lieutenant Governor of Division 56 Pacific Northwest District Key Club International ltg56@pnwkeyclub.org (509) 432-8009 3

Greetings From Your Lt.G. My name is Chris Park, and I am the incoming Lieutenant Governor for Division 56! I’m absolutely elated that I get to work with all of the Officers in Division 56 in order to create strong bonds throughout every community that we live in. I believe that as a Division, we can create change, and impact everyone around us for the better. I have been in Key Club since my Freshman year of high school, and it is truly one of the best decision that I have made coming into high school. On the other hand, some of my hobbies are playing basketball and tennis with friends as well as playing the violin or hanging out with close friends. If anybody has any thoughts, comments, or concerns, please let me know! This year is going to be a one of a kind experience, and I look forward to another year of Key Club with everyone!

-Chris Park, 2018-2019 Incoming Lieutenant Governor 5

A word from your presidents This year has been so eye-opening, I don’t even know where to begin. It has been an immense honor to serve as Pullman club president this past year. Along with my amazing board members, and the support from over 80 Key clubbers, I have learned so much about leadership and Key Club values this year. Through conflicts, success, and passion, I was extremely lucky to have an efficient and dedicated officer board to support and lead the club beside me. Key club still has so much potential, and I know Joy will do very well as the next president, continuing to evolve and expand the club, creating a larger and even more dedicated key club family for the Pullman community. I’ll see you at DCON!

-Heema Koriala, 2017-2018 Pullman Outgoing President 6

My name is Joy and I'm the incoming president of the Pullman Key Club. I'm super excited to be working with my fellow officers to plan the wonderful year of service ahead of us! My Key Club journey has satisfied my need to help and serve others to improve their lives. My hope is that through the inclusion of ideas from members in the club, and careful and thorough organization of events, my fellow officers and I will be able to create events that will maximize our club's service potential, and allow everybody to feel the rewarding joy of service. Have a great day!

-Joy Dang, 2018-2019 Incoming Pullman President 7

It’s been a wonderful three years since I joined Key Club my sophomore year. I’m a senior now, which means I’ve run out of time with the club that has granted me some of my most memorable high school memories. My first Key Club moment was in my freshman year, before I had even joined the club. It was during our annual Stuff the Bus event, where we collected food for our local food banks. I distinctly remember a cold winter morning, standing at the edge of Highway 12 while waving a sign that advertised the collection of canned goods. It was in this moment I realized my love and commitment to service and a higher level of care. Being able to selflessly help others is something I value deeply, and I plan to never let that go. Caring is truly a way of life, and I will take the lessons I have learned from Key Club to college and beyond. To all the Key Clubbers that still have time left, I would like to leave you this message. Make the most of every opportunity and never let a wasted minute slip by. Life comes fast, and before you know it, you’ll be walking on that stage wondering where all that time went. Whether it be academics or community service, have fun, live in the moment, and above all, make memories you’ll be glad to remember in twenty years’ time. From my first Key Club moment to the end of my senior year

and presidency at Orofino High School Key Club, I have always been proud to call myself a Key Clubber. I would like to say thank you to everyone I have met throughout the division for helping me understand a bit more about what Key Club is all about and for giving me the chance to learn about all of you and all of your passions. Thank you to my board members who were always there to step in when I couldn’t and for giving your all to a club that is so dedicated to the core values of Key Club. I would also like to thank Cynthia Guitron for pushing me to take on leadership roles in Key Club, Dmitri Saberi and Shyam Venkatasubramanian for being my inspirational role models, and Jane Tang for all the help over the past year and for being an amazing Lieutenant Governor. All of you have had a tremendous effect on my life and I could not be more grateful. I apologize if I have left any of you out, but just know that I am grateful to you all and that I will remember every single one of you for the rest of my life. Thank you, Key Club, for everything you have done for me. I will remember these moments as some of the best in my life.

Signing off for the last time,

-Keelan Chen, 2017-2018 Outgoing Orofino President 9

Cooper Thomas and I am the new incoming president of Orofino High School. I play volleyball, basketball, and run track. I love the outdoors, white water rafting, skiing, crossfit, and hanging out with friends and family. Clubs I am apart of are: Youth Legislature, National Honors Society, Book Club, Key Club, and I am the Junior Class President. My favorite part of Key Club is the community and seeing the emotions on people's face. In the past, we have gone and decorated pumpkins with our local nursing home and helped with the local food drive. I am ready for another great year of Key Club to start!!!

-Cooper Thomas, 2018-2019 Incoming Orofino President
