LETTER FROM YOUR LTG THE LEAVES ARE FALLING! I’m so happy! The colder months are my most favorite. Did you jump in a pile of leaves today? Because I did! I’m so excited for all the rain and cold and (hopefully) snow that’ll come! Aside from weather, school has definitely kept me busy. I’m apart of my school’s marketing program as an event manager. Recently, I, alongside two other students (shout out to Kyra and Eshe from Aloha High School) planned Nike Portland XC. To the Key Clubbers I saw running, I just wanted to say you guys did awesome! I can barely run across the field, let alone to my car. You all were running miles and miles~ WHICH WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! Some events we have coming up is the October DCM this Friday. As a tradition, divisions 65 East and West will getting together for a Pumpkin Carving! The DCM will be at the Beaverton Activities Center (really big green building, hard to miss). At this event, we will go over the basic divisional events and updates, but we will also be introducing the upcoming Lt.G Candidates meeting and Bowl to Cure! Before I It will be on November 19th at 7:30PM. I will be driving up on the 18th after school. I would love to offer to drive some of you, but my car is currently full, but don’t let that stop you! If you are interested on attending Dance To Cure, please contact me as soon as possible. Hopefully, we can arrange something for you! Feel free to text, call, or PM me about it at any time! Hello, turtles! I hope you all had a wonderful first month of school! The first month is a crucial part of every school year, and I'm glad to hear that you have already started your first Key Club meetings! The first month is a great time to get returning members back in the groove with a few service projects, as well as spread the word to new members! If your club needs help figuring out icebreakers, ways to attract new members, or anything else, please, do not hesitate to ask! I would be more than happy to give you any advice! Thank you, and have a fantastic month!
Hey Turtles! I hope your homework load isn't too heavy yet. Club Rush has passed successfully, and it's great to see Key Club so spirited and welcoming to new members even at the beginning of the school year. Thanks to all who contributed to this important event, helping draw in volunteers and introducing them to this wonderful community. It’s a fantastic way to start off another year of service. Very recently was the BEF Phone a thon, which was a huge fundraiser for the clubs that were able to attend. Although a big commitment of five nights of calling and asking for donations, it paid off in the amount that the participating clubs were able to obtain from the Beaverton Education Foundation. In the future, I hope to see more opportunities for fundraising towards our district project, KCCP, in addition to the amazing on going effort for club budgets!

DIVISIONAL BOARD MARK HUYNH Greetings Keyclubbers, As of now, Key Club has been initiated at many of the schools of our division, and I'm proud to introduce all of you to yet another season of service! As with many clubs, rooms tend to become overpopulated with all of the past members plus incoming freshman, so props to all you board members for starting off the year strong. This is a critical time of year, where freshman are deciding which club is the best for them and are deciding upon which clubs to stick with and which ones to drop. So emphasize the awesomeness of this club! As past members you all know what it's like at DCON, DCMS and all that good stuff, so be sure to enlighten our little freshmen! We want as many of them as we can to fill our shoes when we leave. Good luck :)

Hello turtles! I hope you guys had a great first month in school and that you aren't drowning in homework like I am! Since school started, I'm getting a huge load of homework and it's getting really stressful but I know I can still be organized and make sure things in our division are okay! Lately, I have been trying to contact Mountain View Middle School so that we could charter a Builders Club. I think this would be a great way for younger students to get the chance to see what key club is like since it is a life changing experience :) I'm honestly just really excited for DCON and I really want us turtles to bring as much people as we can so we could win that spirit stick! I hope you guys are doing well. Good luck with school!
Hey turtles! Hope you all have survived your first month of school because we only got 9 more months left till summer 2017, we got this! Since it's October is around the corner, it means that club rush is going to happen soon! My goal for my home club is to help with other officers to advertise and persuade students, especially targeting lower classmen to join key club! My other goals are to take pictures of service whenever I volunteer at an event, October DCM, and the divisional service project as well. I'm really looking forward for next month especially with the divisional service project that we will be doing! I wish you all the best of luck with your school and your classes! My mind was still in summer mode for 3 weeks of school, and I think it's set on school mode, hopefully..! Anyways, keep it up turtles!

Think about how your club can increase local education, arts and cultural impact through a Sister City collaboration. Contact your local Sister City Program through the city search on sister-cities.org. JCI is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens, ages 18 to 40, who are engaged and committed to making an impact in their communities. Kiwanians can partner with JCI members on joint community projects to increase local impact. CAUSE PARTNERS IHOP. Your club members can support National Pancake Day by serving as ambassadors to encourage restaurant patrons to support Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. PREFERRED CHARITIES Kiwanis International partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a focus on mentoring tomorrow’s leaders. KEY CLUB WEEK [November 7 – November 11]
MONDAY: Spread the word by wearing Key Club gear and publicizing Key Club Week in local stores, your school Web site, community newspapers—even on the school announcements. TUESDAY: Personally thank all the Key Club supporters you know—teachers, advisors and other Key players. Write thank-you notes, host an appreciation dinner do something to recognize the contributions of these special people. WEDNESDAY: Take time to focus on service projects that help support our preferred charities (UNICEF, March of Dimes and CMN) such as making non-slip socks or capes for your local CMN hospital.
THURSDAY: Spread happiness throughout your school by doing little random acts of kindness such as leaving cards with inspirational messages on every students locker or just simply holding the door for someone else. FRIDAY: Celebrate the entire family of Kiwanis by getting the whole gang involved. Connect with local Kiwanis, Circle K International, Builders, Kiwanis Kids or Aktion clubs and team up for a joint service project.

L O O H C S H G I H ALOHA FIRST MEETING We didn’t take any photos at the meeting, but it was definitely one that we will all remember. We had many new faces show up; many of it being underclassmen. Our divisional LtG came and did a presentation on Key Club 101. She helped present information about DCON and Key Club outside of a club. Things we did at the meeting: - Guest Division Attendees - Key Club Jeopardy - Almost 50 students - Lt.G presentation - Learned about Key Club at an International Level - Ice Breakers

Westview Key Club’s First Meeting Recap We started the meeting off with our super hyped Key Club chant to bring the energy into the room. Each of the board members had the chance to introduce themselves to the returned and new key clubbers. We explained the principles and friendly rules and told them about our latest projects, closing up with our chant! 31
