GREETINGS Hello Division 66 Key Clubbers! It is my honor to serve as your 2014-2015 Lieutenant Governor. Throughout our term together, I hope we work collectively to grow the division, develop leadership skills, and strive to make the world a better place. When we work together as a unified division, I know we can achieve these goals. I promise to always be around for you—to celebrate your highs and get through your lows. I hope that you never hesitate to talk to me when you have something to say. Recently, forty members from our division returned from Seattle after attending DCON. Be sure to check out the recap to see all the fun we had this year. My hope is that even more Division 66 Key Clubbers can attend next year to bring back more passion for service to all clubs. I want to thank all of the DCON attendees for the love and support you gave me this weekend when I was installed. Even though I was bawling my eyes out watching the 2013-2014 District Board retire, you all brought a smile to my face with your cheers and words of congratulations. You all are the reason why I want to serve Division 66. You all were absolutely adorable; I smile every time I see one of your pictures from DCON. L-O-V-E, I LOVE MY D-I-V! With the start of my term is the end of Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor Emilee Huey’s term. Emilee, thank you for being one stellar outtie. Words cannot describe how thankful I am and actions cannot repay you for all your hard work. Everyone, be sure to thank Emilee for one amazing year before she heads off to college!

There is a LOT of important information in this newsletter. From new Officer Reports to upcoming events, I hope you all take the time to skim through this issue and read what is relevant to you. Again, thank you for this opportunity to serve you all. Be sure to send me a message to say hello! I look forward to working with you all this year.

Yours In Caring Service,

Brian Le 04

2014-2015 Lieutenant Governor of Division 66

“Incredible” by Celine Dion & Ne-Yo To start off the new term, I wanted to emphasize my hope that we all—officers, members, Lieutenant Governors, Kiwanians, and advisors—leave behind something great at the end of our term. “Whole world is watching us now, it’s a little intimidating; But since there’s no way to come down, let’s give ‘em something amazing” The beginning of a new term can be a bit scary, but let’s work together to give the world something amazing.

MY FAVORITE PART …meeting everyone from each division and trading pins (Hannah Le) …the passionate harmonized chanting that everyone did (Rosa Phan) …that DCON is one of the most energetic conventions you could ever attend. I feel so much closer to everyone who went. We have all grown as Key Club members over the course of DCON. Our spirit is off the charts and I'm even more excited to help out in our community! (Ryan Miura) …bonding with the 66 key clubbers because everyone just came together even if we didn't know each other well and I LOVE sharing the floor with our division. I philia you all (Bailey Chen) …that it was one big family. The atmosphere felt like home, and the people I got to meet and spend time with were so amazing! (Peter Le) …the bonding that happened in our group. If anyone needed something like water, hairspray, or their eyebrows done someone would always volunteer to help. We watched movies together, ate together, and chanted our hearts out together. DCON was an experience we can't forget, and the friendships that were created and strengthened in that short amount of time will be a memory I cherish the most. (Rachel Coyne)

…how open, fun, and a clubbers I've never met to them and start a norm lots of fun. DCON opene Key Club is important really does help others

My favorite part of DCON was the opening session. I really enjoyed the presentations and Joseph Vincent's performance! Throughout the session, there were different chants. I think these chants showed the undying spirit we Key Clubbers have towards Key Club! (Joanne Tran) …getting to see behind-the-scenes work of putting DCON together. The work the District Board puts into pulling together one of the greatest conventions in Key Club International is phenomenal. Through all the highs and lows, each of the District Board members worked hard to ensure a great experience for the PNW Key Clubbers. Despite lacking food and sleep, everyone worked hard until the minute the Key Clubbers arrived. Also, JOSEPH VINCENT I also enjoyed the bonding moments with the incoming and outgoing District Boards. Laughter and tears were shared in our final days all together. It was hard to see everyone go, but everyone’s love and support definitely shined through as we hugged, talked, and spent time together for the second and final time. This truly exemplified Key Club as an Ohana.

Lastly, seeing my division. Your love and support when I walked across stage brought so much warmth to my heart. Seeing all your posts about how much fun you had and how much you’re suffering from Post-DCON Depression makes me feel like I did something right. Thank you for everything. (Brian Le)

SUPER SLEEPY SIXTY-SIX After long days at DCON, walking to and from the hotel and convention center, chanting cheers, screaming for Division 66, these Key Clubbers were exhausted and sleep deprived. (Incoming Lt. Governors are on the bottom. After working hard to do the physical labor for DCON, they were all tired too!)

A FAREWELL TO OUR VERY OWN 2013-2014 LT. GOV.

Words cannot describe what an honor it is to call you my outtie. Working with you as your Divisional Editor was, by far, one of the greatest experiences I could ever have. Little did I know that being your innie would be far greater. From countless memories to the craziest inside jokes, you have been a great friend to lead the way. Whenever I think back to your term, I can’t help but feel so proud of you. Let’s think about the VERY beginning of your term, when only one person showed up to your election; then Winter Board, where you didn’t have an outtie by your side; then your first DCM, when just 5 people from 1 club showed up. But you changed all of that. You’ve increased DCM attendance tremendously; you’ve reached out to schools beyond our home club; you’ve worked hard to make sure all the clubs are in line—you are a mile-BOULDER in Division 66’s history, and I can only hope to do as well as you. What I realize is that you’ve left behind so much for me when you started from nothing. I think—no, I know—that your hard work is often overlooked. Emilee, you’ve poured your heart and soul into Key Club, and I know that this division and this organization would not be like this today without your care and attention. Throughout all the ups and the many, many, MANY (I can’t stress that enough) downs, you’ve always persisted through to get the job done. From Winter Board to DCON problems, you’ve always looked out for me and wanted the best for me despite what it meant for you. Though this is a price I can never pay you back for, I sure hope that you know that I am extremely thankful to have you by my side. All I can say is: CONGRATS. YOU’RE DONE, but you still have so much you can give. Good luck, Emilee. I will miss you lots. L-O-V-E, I LOVE MY OUTTIE, EMILEE HUEY!

Sincerely, Baby Giraffe Brian P.S., I guess this means no more pie for you! :)

GOODBYE (JUST FOR NOW) #EMILEEHASTHESAMEPLACEINMYHEARTASMYVELVETSCRUNCHIES You are one of my best friends on the board. We seem to have bonded at board meetings, while eating trail mix, sugar, and doing talking punishments together. We seem to always get talking punishments…even though we barely talk…awks. You have helped me a lot through my term as LTG. You are always willing to answer my questions even the stupid ones. And I seem to always ask questions regardless of the time…sorry about that. You are also always willing to listen to me rant, thanks for that. The hard work you have put into your division is evident in the increase in membership, divisional spirit and the amount of pictures that gets put on FB from your division. I know that your newsletter is something that work really hard on and it is evident because it is both visually appealing and informational. Your love for Key Club and your division is so great that even through tough times, it is still very evident. The passion has rubbed off on me, thus, I would like to think DIV.66 as my second division (surprise… I only know a couple of people from there, so yeah…) Brian asked me write something for you for the Giraffe Press and all I can think of is gratitude. You helped me a lot through my term, which in turn made my division better. Thank you.
