GREETINGS FROM YOUR LT. GOVERN Hello Division 66! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a cheerful and safe holiday break spent with your loved ones. Although we had almost half a month off of school, you did not stop volunteering at service events. With the new year, I hope one of your resolutions involve being more active in your community. First, I would like to give a warm welcome to the next Lieutenant Governor of Division 66, Brian Nguyen! I am looking forward to what he has in store for the Division and I am sure he will bring amazing ideas to Division 66. Thank you to those who attended the DCM, you all looked so classy! With District Convention coming, there are a lot of preparations. First, we’ll kick DCON season with DCON prep focusing on posters and hug me signs. Next, a DCM with Key Club chants and additional prep, and we’ll finish off the 2015-2016 Key Club term with a banquet. I am very excited to see all of you at the DCM’s and at DCON! Even if you’re not planning to attend DCON, stop by the DCM’s to help out (who knows, maybe you’ll change your mind). Official DCON spirit gear packs and the divisional t-shirt will be shortly posted. I hope to see you soon! Yours in Caring Service, Bailey Chen 2015-2016 Lieutenant Governor of Division 66

NOR AND EXECUTIVE BOARD

I hope you guys had a great holiday! Winter break was a great time to spend time with friends and family. Thanks to all of you who volunteered at Winter Rage! Also thanks to all of you who attended the December DCM. Congratulations to Brian Nguyen for being elected our new LTG! It's January so that means finals week but more importantly DCON is coming in a couple of months. It's time to get in the spirit of Key Club. I hope to see all of you guys there. Rachel Coyne Divisional Editor

How was everyone's winter break? I know mine was extremely important. Anyway, this past month I went to Clackamas High School's Winter Rage. This event is probably my favorite one for the year because you interact with so many of the people that you are helping directly. I had a blast and it was great to see multiple clubs from the school work together to make it a success. We also had the December DCM, which was actually the Lt. G. Election Rally! It was overwhelming to see people from all around, including some from other divisions, so thank you guys who attended. I also hope to meet more of you guys at events this new year. Good luck on finals and have a wonderful January! Brian Nguyen Divisional Assistant

MEET YOUR NEXT LT 8

T. G.: BRIAN NGUYEN 9

MESSAGE FROM YOUR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ELECT Hey everyone! My name’s Brian Nguyen and I am your Lieutenant Governor for the 2016-2017 term! I am immensely thrilled to be serving my favorite division in the Pacific Northwest. The election rally was over winter break and I was astonished to see so many people there. There were friends, family, and even people from other divisions! Most importantly, we were there together as Key Club. I will try my hardest to continue strengthening Division 66 and hope to interact with everyone soon. Don’t “shilly-shally” (I found this word on Google as a synonym for “hesitate”!) to ask me any questions you want to know, I’ll be happy to help! A little about myself: I’m currently a sophomore at Clackamas High School. I spend most of my time playing tennis or chilling with my homies and I also like to listen to music, especially songs by Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. Sometimes I’ll end up on YouTube watching tennis videos for hours instead of doing my homework, but that’s okay as long as I finish eventually, am I right?

As for my Key Club life, I joined Key Club my freshman year, so a little over a year ago. I had always been helping my mom with her religious activities, so when a friend back in 8th grade told me about this thing called “Key Club”, I was quite intrigued to see what it had to offer me. Turns out I ended up putting all my effort into seeing what I could offer to the club and now, the division! Every event I’ve gone to is unique in its own way and it’s always fun. After DCON is when I really became obsessed over service (Don’t get me wrong, I loved volunteering before as well!). Seeing all the Key Clubbers in the Pacific NorthBEST gathered together really inspired me to project my passion for service onto others in hopes to make the world a better place, one small step at a time. Key Club has also helped me become more social and happy overall, so I am grateful for what as well. Anyway, I am really excited to be serving Division 66 for the upcoming term and hope to continue serving alongside each and every one of you not only as the Lieutenant Governor, but as a friend. Thank you for electing me to be your Lt. G.

Brian Nguyen

Send frequent updates to all clubs through emails, social media, phone, et cetera because a lot of posts are made on Facebook and not everyone has access or chooses to use it. Associate with more divisions and act as a liaison to improve learning experience and give members more chances to connect with a greater variety Key Clubbers. Verify which clubs require assistance or reactivation and visit them to get a better of understanding of what they require support with. An example of this would be reactivating the Rex Putnam HS Key Club. Extend reach not only to high school clubs, but other members of the Kiwanis Family as well, such as K-Kids for the elementary schools and Builders Club for the middle schools.
