the rain!

Hello Division 66, I hope you guys had a great October filled with candies and sweets. Hopefully you guys all did Trick or Treat for UNICEF! Kudos to those who did it in

Remember that your dues are due the 1st of December so turn them to you club as soon as possible! We had a very successful joint DCM, with over 100 members total. Thank you guys for spending your time to paint pumpkins for nursery homes and the children’s hospital.

Since Thanksgiving is this month, I would like to thank all of you for making my term such a great term so far. Also, shout out to Kiwanians for helping us out! Go Division 66! Hope to see you at the DCM this month!

Yours in Caring Service, Bailey Chen 2015-2016 Lieutenant Governor or Division 66

First off, I would just like to say fall has been great so far and I expect it to get even better before winter comes. School has started, which meant tons of elementary school carnivals! These are one of my favorite events so I definitely had tons of fun this past month. It's also satisfying to see all the new members, especially freshman, rushing to sign up for events and being enthusiastic to participate in them. I have also met a lot of new people just from my home school and it's been wonderful to connect with them and learn more about them as friends. Another place where I first interacted with some fresh faces was at the October DCM. Honestly, the DCM overwhelmed me just because of the insane amount of people! Working with Division 62 was pleasurable and a great learning experience. Big thanks to them for giving me the opportunity to meet more people from outside our division. Additionally, I met a lot of new faces from schools in our very own division. I talked to some new members, but there were a lot from last year whom I had never spoken to either. I am glad to have gotten the opportunity to connect with these amazing individuals. Going back to Thanksgiving, right now is a great time to give thanks to those you are grateful for. I did state this in my note from the last newsletter, but your advisors and Kiwanians are extremely important! Without them, we could never have our Key Clubs. They do so much for us so now it's our time to thank them in return. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great November! Don't forget to send in pictures from your events for this month and any other ideas you have for the division! – Brian Nguyen, Divisional Assistant Fall is the best season of all, in my opinion. It's been a great year for key club so far and it has been so great meeting you guys! Thank you to all of you who participated in trick or treat for UNICEF. I know this Halloween was kind of a downer with the pouring rain, but all of your efforts are worth it to help all those in need. Thanks to all of you who attended the October DCM. Although I could not make it, I heard it was a blast. Make sure to come to the November DCM! I hope to see you there. Also November means Thanksgiving break. A time to be with family and eat. That also means that there are families who are not as fortunate as some of us are. And it is also time to show your thanks for your community. Make sure this November you but a 110% effort in your service for those in need. Have a great November! Share with us on Twitter and Instagram what you are most thankful for and also send me pictures from your club's events so I can post them on our Division's social media. – Rachel Coyne, Divisional Editor

OCTOBER DC On October 24th, 2015 Division 66 and 62 had a joint DCM where we painted pumpkins (donated to Doernbecher and nursing homes) and had a costume contest. We also did a Miracle Minute, raising! $66.43, saving about 40 babies!

EY LEADER 2015 “Key Leader was an insightful experience that provided me with different perspectives involving how one approaches their style of leadership. Service leadership, where a leader supports everyone instead of giving commands, opened the doors of involving community into leadership. Key Leader camp was a well-rounded weekend of building a sense of awareness of community and integrating it into leadership.”- Orchid Khuu, Clackamas Key Club

“Key Leader is a definitely a life changing experience in which I highly suggest everyone that has the opportunity to go to attend! It’s not like any other leadership camp or program that I have ever been a part of. It didn’t matter who you were or where you were from, if you were in Key Club or any other club, what mattered was what you were willing to learn and gain from the experience on how to not only better yourself but also on how to become a better leader. You get to meet passionate leaders from all over the district, who you get a chance to bond with throughout the whole weekend. Now you might be thinking what makes Key Leader different from any other camp? Well you see, Key Leader teaches you about the key principle’s of being a “Key Leader.” These principles are leadership, integrity, growth, respect, community, and excellence. One thing that stuck to me that I learned at Key Leader is that everyone plays a part in the community, whether you’re in charge of something or not, YOU have what it takes to make a difference in your community so make it a good one.” Tommy 19 Nguyen, Centennial Key Cub
