Happy October everyone! It's time for the leaves to change color and everything fall. It's also time to become more active in Key Club! I can't wait to see what you guys are up to this fall. If you’re wondering if you want to join key club ask yourself these questions: Do I have a passion for helping others? Do I enjoy improving and providing for those in your community? Do I want to help others but I don’t know how? Key Club is the answer. So enjoy your seasonal drinks and pumpkin flavored everything and join Key Club! Also thank you to you guys who made it to the September DCM. We had so much fun making dog toys and we made a lot more than I had expected. See you guys at the October DCM! Please send me photos from your guys' events so I can feature them on our social media. Follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat @PNWDivision66.

Merry Christmas! Just kidding, but happy almost-Halloween! Fall is my favorite season, so I’m super excited for all the fun events, such as the Apple Festival and Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. First off, I would like to thank Corbett and Centennial for letting me come to their meetings! It was really exciting to see each club’s growth, both officers and members. I look forward to interacting with each and every club for the rest of my term. Next, a big thank you to everyone who came to the September DCM! It was lots of fun playing “Honey I Love You” and “Pterodactyl”. The dog-toy making was a great success, and shout out to Division’s 44 and 62 for participating, we really appreciated your support! Another thing I would like to note is thank you to our wonderful Kiwanians. Without your support and your involvement in our meetings, our clubs would not be able to function. You all are a great support to us Key Clubbers, and I know I speak for all of Division 66 when I say we would love to work together in service more in the future. With the season of giving coming up, I want you all to remember to keep giving to the community. One of the main reasons I joined Key Club is to give back to the community. Our service is what makes a difference, and I just remember that every single one of you matters, so thank you for joining Key Club. Ever since joining Key Club, I have gone to many different events. My favorite one so far has to be Clackamas High School’s Winter Rage. Winter Rage is an event where we gather donated supplies such as clothes and canned food and distribute it to families in need. It was truly an event that opened my eyes to the beauty that is called Key Club. Brian Nguyen Divisional Assistant

Happy Spook-tober Division 66! I hope the first month of school went well for you! Hopefully not too many late nights… right? If this is the first newsletter you’re reading, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is Bailey Chen, the Lieutenant Governor of Division 66! Secondly, I would like to thank you for clicking on the newsletter! Although school is now consuming most of our time, it’s wonderful to see that our Division is still dedicated and passionate about service! I am amazed at each club’s transition into the school year. I see lots of events and meetings happening! We also had a relaxing DCM where we upcycled clothing by making dog toys to donate to the Oregon Dog Rescue. Thank you so much for all those who attended! W will be donating the leftover clothing to a clothing center. I’m super excited about the upcoming months as we grow nearer to many events! For now, stay warm and keep healthy! I hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter, I can’t wait to meet you if I haven’t already!

Yours in Caring Service, Bailey Chen 2015-2016 Lieutenant Governor or Division 66

KEY CLUB What is Key Club?

Key Club is the largest student-led organization in the world. We serve our home, schools, and communities every day by volunteering and fundraising. There are FOUR levels of Key Club: 1. Club (Your home club) 2. Division (Division 66, US!) 3. District (Pacific Northwest!) 4. International District (33 Districts in total!)

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

8

International level is made up of 33 different districts. There are 11 trustees who are divided to be responsible for certain districts. Our president is Rip Livington, vice president is Addie Clipfell and our international trustee is Devin Sun. Our sister districts are the Carolinas and Missouri-Arkansas.

Why Did You Join Key Club? “I joined Key Club at first because a large majority of my friends had joined. Because of Key Club I have developed a love for service. Even when I felt stressed from school or just feeling lazy, I always made time for volunteering. My favorite event that is Feed the Hungry that Clackamas High School does fairly often. Fall makes me think about what I am thankful for. I am thankful for my friends, family, and my home. Not everyone is fortunate to have a home, a safe place to stay or a warm meal everyday. Feed the Hungry helps provide a warm meal to those in need. And often they provide extra food and necessities they need. It is a hands on way to help those you don’t have the resources many of us are blessed to have. Key Club is not just to add something to your college resume. It is about building our home, community, and school.” Rachel Coyne, Clackamas Key Club

So, W

“I joined Key Club my sophomore year after I transferred to Clackamas High School. I joined because my friends were in the club and I wanted to pad my college applications. I stayed because Key Club became like a second family to me. The members of my home club were caring, passionate, and fun. It made serving all the more meaningful to do it with people you love. I continued my journey through Key Club because of this renewed feeling each year, from meeting more and more great people from around the entire District, and from seeing the impact we have as an organization on the world. My favorite service projects are park cleanups because I love trees.” – Ryan Muira, Clackamas Key Club “I've made it a life goal to always be in a leadership position of some sort every school year and mid-way through sophomore year my friends were chatting about Key Club and how they were knitting hats for babies so I decided to join in to see what the talk was all about. I had, by chance, ran for the treasurer position the following year and got it by default because I was the only one who applied I have to admit that I have fallen in love with Key Club and the people within it. I think my favorite times weren't when we were in DCMs or doing events. but getting to know my fellow officers and the Lt. Govs outside of school Those personal bonds stick with you the most. The most memorable thing for me was first talking to the past Lt. Gov, Brian Le, because he wasn't like how I had pictured him (stern, serious, scary) and ended up being friendly, hilarious and extremely relatable which helped me open up and embrace Key Club.” – Kayla Cha, Reynolds Key Club

MEMBERS OF THE MONTH JET ITTIHRIT REYNOLDS KEY CLUB

“Jet Ittihrit is a sophomore in our club this year and joined last year when he was a freshman. He was an extremely active member last year and this year I expect no less from him. Just the other day he took the initiative to ask me to send him a message telling him "everything about Key Club" so that he could promote the club and recruit members, even without us asking him to! He's a dedicated Key Clubber who I know will do good things in life and in the club.”

EMILY HUNT GLADSTONE KEY CLUB

“Emily was awesome in helping me to clean up our gym after the blood drive on Wednesday. She continually puts forth her best effort in all Key Club events with a smile.”
