GLTC was a blast! It was a remarkable experience, lots of fun and also great chance to learn much more. We are aware that many members were not able to attend due to high price, Georgia district is hoping to change the venue next year so that more members could attend with a lower price. Our Division and Division 8 (Fayette County) are planning to hold a joint DCM this upcoming October! More detailed information will be released soon with the RSVP form via email. It will be an in-person DCM, combined with service event opportunity. Please look forward for it!

YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES FUND

Requirements to qualify for a grant:

The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund for good stanging Key Clubs / members from Kiwanis International Foundation. First cycle deadline is by October 15th by 11:59 PM. Have Key Club member engagement FIll a need within your community (complete community needs assessment)

Support activities within at least one Kiwanis Children’s Fund cause area: health, education, or youth leadership development. Spend the grant money within 12 months of when the grant is awarded.

There is always chance to apply for the second cycle which is due March 1st, but please remember to prepare on time. Good standing clubs mean dues-paid club (Early bird or Regular). Clubs may request funding assistance ranging anywhere from US$250 to US$2000.

OFFICER INFORMATION (NOW LATE)

At this point, if your club has not yet submitted your officer board information, it is considered as a late submission.

Only four clubs in our division successfully updated their information, which are East Coweta, Newnan, Heriage School and West Georgia Homeschool Association. All other clubs have NOT yet submitted their officer information. If your club successfully held elections, please make sure to fill out the Officer Information Form for next term. This is due September 15th. 1. Clubs should edit Membership Update Center with new member information, please update the information from the previous term. MUC already reopened on September 9th.

PAYING DUES (EARLY BIRD)

Due to dues increasement amendement that was passed last ICON 2024, members will now be paying $10 to Key Club International in addition to the $7 to the Georgia DIstrict. Any other fee that is left after $17 will go to individual club.

Early bird due deadline is November 1st, please start receiving the dues as fast as you can so that your club can aim for early bird submission! Early bird clubs will be recognized with a banner patch.

Due Deadline:

Regular: December 1st, 2024

Late: February 1st, 2025

MONTHLY REPORT FORM

Secretaries and Faculty Advisors, please remember to submit the Monthly Report Form due every 5th of the month, until the end of the term! Submitting this form will help the District stay up to date with all our clubs and collect data.

Once you submit this form, you will receive an email with your responses. If your club has a sponsoring Kiwanis club, please forward this email to their secretary, and please also utilize the data to fill out the Annual Achievement Report.

Please communicate with your club board to fill out this form, since it will be a crucial data for the club itself and for the district throughout the term!

GEORGIA SHERIFFS’ YOUTH HOMES

District Projects Committee has voted to continue supporting GSYH, setting a goal of $20,000 contribution directly to the organization. Learn more about GSYH in the link below!

GOVERNOR’S PROJECT

Igniting Literacy is a state-wide service project for Georgia Key Club members to raise awareness of youth literacy rates. The initiative works towards building Little Libraries, organizes book drives and implement programs such as Ferst Readers.

TRICK OR TREAT FOR UNICEF

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is an annual fundrasing campagine by Key Club, supporting UNICEF projects. During the entire month of October, Trickor-Treat for UNICEF encourage any age to participate on raising funds & awareness to help UNICEF keep children healthy, educated and protected. Let your members know about this amazing opportunity, and utilize halloween season to appeal members fundraise for UNICEF!

CHARTERING

New clubs are always welcome! As a reminder, there is a $400 chartering fee (includes member/advisor material) for a newly chartered club. Newly chartered clubs will NOT pay their dues for that year, and Kiwanis club can request a grant from the past Lt. Governors Association covering $200.

REACTIVATION (Inactive)

Inactive clubs should pay a $100 reactivation fee in addition to the dues. Make sure to mail the fees and also to fill out the Petition for Reactivation! Petition for Reactivation: https://www.keyclub.org/resources/petition-forreactivation/

Suspended clubs can always reactivate and continue the Key Club journey. Create a spereadsheet with information from each new member (such as first and last name, email address, grad year). Make sure to add the note to delete exsisting member so that those members doesn’t get billed.

Remember to calculate the dues owed. Using the dues information, determine the total amount of dues and request an invoice. Email the roster information to memberservices@kiwanis.org.

Identify the club with the club name and ID number on the check along with the roster sending it to Key Club headquarter.

Keyosk is GA district’s online planform in which clubs/board members have opportunity to share experiences and information about variety of topics.
