Hello Fellow Lady Bugs! Fellow Lady Bugs, I hope that you all have enjoyed your summer, I know that I have. Especially since I still get to do what I love, serving our community. There are some very important information in this newsletter so please look through it carefully. I would also like to thank those who did attend Portland Area Rally. It was my first rally ever, and I have to say it was great! I enjoyed being around such a caring and enthusiastic group of people.

Also, ICON has already past, and it seems everyone really did enjoy it. A new international board was elected. I am glad to remind you, as you may already know, that Kevin Zhang was elected as the International Vice President of 2014-2015. A big congratulations to Kevin! In Caring Love and Service,

Division 80 Lieutenant Governor

Karla J. Bedolla Karla Bedolla

4 Portland Area Rally As mentioned earlier Portland Area Rally has already passed. Our day was full of surprises. Not only did we change up the menu, but we also raised so much money which will go towards the Eliminate Project. I want to thank those who did attend. It really shows your dedication to Key Club and I hope you are as excited for this year as I am. During the Rally we got some amazing news about the Eliminate Project. Madagascar was declared MNT free. This is a really big step towards our goal of eliminating MNT by 2015. We also got to learn more about human trafficking. Portland Area Rally was not only fun, it was also a meaningful experience. It was all wrapped up with pies. At the end a member of each division got to pie their LTG. Maria from Riverside had the pleasure to pie me in the face! I hope that this allowed you to see how much Key Club can do. This is just another amazing experience showing the world how much we young people can accomplish. Once again thank you for all those who attended!

Key Clubbers of The Month Every month I want to be able to recognize three members of our divisions for their dedication to Key Club. This month there were two people whom I felt deserved this award. They went out of their way to attend Portland Area Rally showing their determination to make this division succeed. These two people are Edith from Riverside and Maria from Riverside. Way to go ladies! It is people like you that make Key Club worth it. I am so glad I got the opportunity to speak to you and exchange great ideas. I see a lot going for this division especially with people like you. Thank you for your service!

A Message From Our Governor Hey Key Clubbers, Summer is finally here, and I hope all of you are kicking back and relaxing after a long school year’s end. All of you have put so much effort into the last school year, from taking AP and IB classes, to being in multiple clubs and activities, to all of your endless community service that you have done. To the seniors a special congrats on finishing high school, you guys have worked especially hard. I hope the memories of the last years in high school will carry with all of you, and I hope you know all the service you have done in the last few years, has been changing the lives of others. To the club members, remember that when the sun is out, it is a great chance to grab a few friends and serve, and that service doesn’t end when the school year does! Continue all of your hard work because when you give a little love, you get a little love back, when you give a lot of love, you get a lot of love back. The amount of effort you put into serving is the amount you get back, from seeing a smile from the kid who just got a card at children’s hospital, to packing a meal for a hungry family who lives in the neighborhood. The more and more you serve, the

7 more and more you will see the community being affected, by the love and service you give to it. Remember that when you serve, give your whole heart to the project or fundraiser, and the results will soar. You are the change, with every good deed you do, no matter how big or small, it helps the people around you. From right around the corner to half way around the world, you guys are truly admirable. You give more than anyone could ever see or know, you guys don’t wish that you had the power to change the world, you know you have the power to change the world. Thank you all so much, and just remember, what you share with the world is what the world keeps of you.

Lisa Antonio, Pacific Northwest District Governor

Help! Key Clubbers I need your help! During Portland Rally we had some ideas about changes within our division. In order to do so I need to get the approval of everyone. There are also many great ideas I have not had the opportunity to hear. This is why it is crucial for you to attend my next DCM. There has been talk about changing our mascot but in order to do so when need to have everyone agree. We also want to get nice division shirts, but in order to do so we need to fundraise. We need to find opportunities as a team to raise as much money as we can. So please, tell everyone that they need to be at the next DCM in order for all these changes to go through! Also if you guys can submit a story about yourself it doesn’t have to be about key club however, it does have to be inspiring and appropriate. I want to be able to talk to you guys as friends. Don’t feel intimidated to ask me anything. The only reason I am here is to serve you, that is my job and I will be glad to do so.
