A Message From Your DNE Hello Everyone! My name is Tam Dao and I am a freshman from Redlands High School. I feel greatly honored to be serving as your 2016–2017 Division News Editor. I have a feeling that this upcoming term will bring us many different things and I can’t wait to see what our division will accomplish! The beginning of this term is the perfect time for past officers to be training the newly elected officers. Training is important and it is best to get it out of the way at the start. If you are confused about what you are supposed to be doing , just ask your past officers and they will gladly help. Thank you for taking the time to read the very first issue of this volume! I hope you enjoy it!

LTG WELCOME Hello Raccoons! My name is Angelica Garcia, your new Lieutenant Governor for 20162017. I am a sophomore at Redlands High School. I am involved in AP and honors courses, badminton, Mock Trial, and other various clubs. The club that has stood out to me is Key Club, which is what provoked me to run for Lieutenant Governor in the first place. I cannot wait to bring Division 36 East the glory and attention that this division deserves. I have many goals during my term. My main goal is to increase membership in the division in order to have a bigger Ohana; I want this division to be as close as a group of students can be. I also want you to enjoy your year of Key Club, which will be filled with endless service projects and fundraising opportunities. I want to thank you all again for giving me this amazing opportunity to serve the division I love! I will not let you down.

Kimmy Cao Executive Assistant Hello key-uties! My name is Kimmy Cao and I serve as D36E's Executive Assistant. Here are a few things about me. I'm really clumsy and am constantly tripping over things. I'm slightly obsessed with Costco croissants. I love singing, dancing, playing badminton, and marathoning kdramas. I'm up for a laugh and up for adventure.

Jeremy Sidabutar Executive Assistant Hello friends! My name is Jeremy Sidabutar and I am serving as your Division Executive Assistant, or what I like to call, the LTG’s VP. I am currently a junior and have been part of the wonderful

D36E since my freshman year and I have served my club as a Vice President for the past term and for the next (and final term) as the Secretary. It is an honor to be part of this special DLT squad and I hope that the next year with us will be the best year D36E will ever witness!

Tam Dao Division News Editor Hello, My name is Tam Dao and I serve as D36E’s news editor. I look forward to meeting all of you and seeing our division grow to something great! When I’m not doing key club work, I like to read, write play

tennis, and dance. Some of my role dance models would be Les Twins and Fikshun. I’m usually on the computer, listening to music or playing League of Legends. I also love meeting new people, so if you see me around don’t be afraid to start up a conversation! I can’t wait to start a great term with our amazing division!

Hello, my name is Stella Seki and I am a junior at Redlands High School, as well as your newest D36E Graphics Designer. The art and designs of this division will have a very important role of creating a strong, positive impression of D36E on both newcomers and long-time Key Clubbers. Through my designs, I hope to increase the interest in Key Club throughout the schools in this division while increasing club pride. I absolutely love drawing, and look forward to contributing to the promotion and entertainment of this division through my artistic skills! 9

I crave boba like twice a day, and the only thing I'm good at is Just Dance. I am the Mr. Krab's meme 99% of the time, but my number one goal is to make everyone feel like sparkly princesses.

Kiran Rawtani Service Coordinator Hey Key Clubbers! My name is Kiran Rawtani and I’m currently a Junior at RHS. This year is going to be my third year in Key Club and I am glad that I get to spend it serving my division. I am su-

per excited to serve as your service coordinator for the 2016-2017 and I have a bunch of ideas that I aim to put to work! Throughout the year, I hope to introduce as many service projects as possible to keep our spirit alive.

Features

What Was Your Highlight of DCON 2016? My highlight of DCON was the service expo because I was able to see the spirit from other divisions and the merchandise that they sold. -Angelica Garcia My highlight of DCON was the third day when we were all going home. Of course I loved all the other days as well but when Joshua was making his speech and when the former board and LTGs stepped down and were sobbing together on stage, I could not stop sobbing along with them too in the crowd and there I’ve never felt so proud and lucky to have the chance to be a part of such a loving and selfless club. -Michelle Mondong My highlight of DCON was walking on stage with our District Governor Josh Nuesca for the end of our term.-Brandon Lao My Highlight off DCON was the first night after the 1st general session. We met with our region and I made a really good friend with this Kiwi and like the friendship was effortless, we were SOULMATES. After that first interaction, I was like so hyped to meet new people all weekend. –Yenna Chang
