FROM THE EDITOR: ON RECRUITMENT: Hey Sky Bisons!

As the school year progresss, more clubs are focusing on the importance of service and gaining new members. For instance, the incredibly wellmade graphic above emphasizes Key Club's most important aspects. Distance Learning makes this slightly more difficult, but it is truly amazing how Key Clubbers have risen to the challenge! Finding solace in sincere service, and aiding your community through the dedication Key Club members always display is incredibly inspiring!

SERVICE MCHS | CLAUDIA FERREL After months of waiting to be invited back to help the Pureland Foundation at their food distributions, this month our MCHS Key Club members finally had the opportunity to volunteer at Pacific. Because of COVID-19 our members were required to wear a face mask at all times, carry around hand sanitizer that they would constantly re-apply, and wear gloves. The difference between these food distributions, and the ones months prior was that these were drive thru distributions where the families coming by to pick up food had to drive by in their cars. Our members helped by handing the food/boxes out to those that came by. This event was held twice this month on August 22nd and 29th, from 8 AM to 12 PM.

In the images above you’ll see our club president Emmily, our club secretary Eduardo, and our club members Jackie and Jocelyn helping distribute food to families that need it.

RHS | AYESHA MIRZA Redlands High School Key Club has continued using online service apps and websites this past month in order to gain service hours and help in any way we can. We have been using Charity Miles, Atlas Go, Beans Beans Beans, and Free Kibble. Our main service app that we use, however, is Free Rice. On this app, one answers trivia questions to donate rice; 1,000 rice is the equivalent of half an hour of service. Many of our members have been using this app as a means to get service hours virtually. Namely, Trinie Ngo has earned almost 300,000 grains of rice. As meeting start after labor day, we hope to host more service and social events virtually.

FIRST MEETINGS ISHS | ANDREA IRIBE

For the month of August, We had our first official meeting on the 10th where 10 people from our club, not including our officers came. We introduced ourselves, and then we talked about the service week that was happening with the sky jellies. We talked about what key club was all about and all about our future plans and goals. Now we are planning an event for coloring where we can send our colored art to the elderly. We also had a facetime meeting talking about our club goals for the upcoming month.

ADAPTING TO THE CURRENT CONDITIONS OVER ZOOM :) KEY CLUB GOES ON DESPITE THE CHALLENGES PRESENTED

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR Hii Sky Bisons! I hope you're all doing great this school year :) Even if it is overwhelming and frustrating right now, never forget that you always have a community to reach out to and serve with! Club officers, remember to pay attention for additional information regarding dues, and to keep recruiting! Don't be disheartened by the challenges that have been arising. The purpose that Key Club serves is one of integrity and grit, even in such difficult times. While you should be isolating yourself physically, don't do it to yourself mentally. If that makes sense. Always reach out to friends and fellow Key Clubbers. The DLT feels constantly inspired by our amazing division's perserverance and hard work! Thank you all so much for all your work! The way time has been passing lately certainly feels odd, as if we've been doing distance learning forever, but also as if we're still in March. It's hard to believe that it is already halfway through the first semester and that DCON is coming up! Â Our very own, super cool LTG is serving on the committee! So remember to pay attention to upcoming dates and events!

Serving with Sincerity, your DNE, Inara Khankashi
